Another addition to the parade.

TRENTON — Gov. Chris Christie is set to officially announce he's running for president in 2016.

Christie, the 55th governor of the state, will formally launch his campaign for the Republican Party's nomination at an 11 a.m. kickoff at Livingston High School, his alma mater, on Tuesday, a source close to the campaign told NJ Advance Media.

The news of his long-anticipated announcement was first reported Thursday morning by WNYC, which cited unnamed sources familiar with his plans.

Yay.

Sometimes I wish Democrats had a roster of competition for Hillary just like the Republicans have... But then I look at the actual names on the roster and I don't even know anymore what this life is.

Jeb Bush
Ben Carson
Ted Cruz
Carly Fiorina
Lindsey Graham
Mike Huckabee
Bobby Jindal
George Pataki
Rand Paul
Rick Perry
Marco Rubio
Rick Santorum
Donald Trump

and now Chris Christie

Seriously, these debates are going to be so, so fun.

I remember a time when he was considered threatening enough for MSNBC to devote the entirety of their news block to the Bridgegate scandal.

Oh, god. We went to the same high school. Yecch.

Edit: Fun fact from Google: he and Jason Alexander were in high school at the same time.

I mean hate him for his policies and whatever... but if you decide who you'll pick for President based on a gif... or what sports team he likes

Yikes.

Dude is fake as fuck. He's the governor of a state where the cowboys are absolutely hated due to the proximity of the Eagles and the Giants and he goes gallivanting with Jerry Fucking Jones while they are playing one of the teams that half the state heavily supports? Dude is a grade A jackass.

The pigs in crates story really turned me off of Christie who I thought had some decent bones in his body. He's a corrupt mofo.

He's a New Jersey politician masquerading as a fan of the mortal enemy. I'm a Cowboys fan but I can't support such treason. The man has no spine and I feel for the people who have been subject to his tyrannical reign.

On the one hand, he's a jackass for being from New Jersey and rooting for the Cowboys.

On the other hand, if he's going to pick the wrong team, better the Cowboys than the fucking Eagles. Eagles fans commit treason against the State of New Jersey every time they start their fucking spelling bee.

When is the first debate? Because that should be a national holiday.

August 6.

And it's a big mess, because Fox News is holding it and they are only taking the top 10 candidates based on polling. Which is a flawed way of doing it because no one will have cast a vote yet and they're already deciding who is a real candidate in the race.

Yeah, that must be it.

Less than two years before Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones paid for New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s tickets and travel to NFL games, government documents show Christie personally pushed the Port Authority to approve a lucrative contract for a firm part-owned by Jones. Christie nonetheless accepted the gifts from Jones, despite New Jersey ethics rules barring gifts to public officials from persons or entities that those officials “deal with, contact, or regulate in the course of official business.”
