It's been said elsewhere, but one of the characters here is a dead ringer for Lotte from Little Witch Academia (glasses, witch outfit, short blonde hair).

This probobly has nothing to do with Stardew Valley but the random mention of it and the similar appearance to it makes me hopeful that this is a more magic-themed SDV.

I would buy this game in a heartbeat. I have seen the concept in too many animes not to want to play it.

They are clearly fans of Little Witch Academia, hahaha. Three characters in that shot look very clearly inspired by LWA characters dating back to the Enchanted Parade. Not to mention the character of the setting.

You won't hear me complaining!

I couldn't care much about the theme, but I love Starbound and Stardew even if the latter was only published. I'm on board for whatever they wanna try next.

Yes, and Starbound (which despite a long, rocky beta period, has been out for over a year and gotten a ton of support).

They're a developer (Starbound and the upcoming Wargroove) who I believe were able to leverage their money / popularity from Starbound to start publishing for other indies like Stardew Valley and Risk of Rain. I'm pretty sure this game is completely in-house though.

Concerned Ape is the developer of Stardew Valley. As far as I know we don't know who is developing this game yet. Probably themselves.

Video caption says "One of a few different art styles we're testing out in house at the moment", so yeah, sounds like it's being developed, at least in part, by Chucklefish.

I just checked their site and it seems they're not publishing Wargroove they're developing it themselves?

Anything from Chucklefish is an insta-buy from me. Hope this is as good as it looks and sounds. Been waiting for this kind of game forever.

This is correct. They're developing Wargroove in-house. All of the other games listed on their site, they're only acting as publisher (though in some cases like SDV, they're also lending developer support, helping Concerned Ape implement multiplayer since it's quite complicated).

Wow it was a real game, saw images of this a couple months back from a friend and he wouldn't tell me where it came from but said I'd like it.

There's actually a game like this on the DS. It's like Animal Crossing but with magic. You learn new spells which you use to do side quests and to learn more about you're fellow students.

People would love a high-quality magic school simulator game. I'm not aware of one. The LEGO Harry Potter games are fun, but more action story-based than simulator like Stardew Valley.

Wow, that second artstyle (at least in the portraits) looks muuuuuch better than the first one.

Starbound was a little to procedurally generated for my tastes and felt a little too aimless. I hope this game is a more focused experience.

Hope they go with a more anime aesthetic for the character portraits based on the earlier post where they were exploring art styles.
