How late is too late?
The first votes will not be cast until Feb. 3, but to appear on ballots, candidates must file their paperwork long before then. How long before? Well, the first filing deadline is … today.
To appear on the primary ballot in Alabama, Mr. Bloomberg must submit a petition with at least 500 signatures — or seven petitions with at least 50 signatures from each of the state’s seven congressional districts — by the end of Friday. He has sent staff members to Alabama to collect those signatures.

Two more states — Arkansas and, crucially, New Hampshire — have filing deadlines in the next eight days. People who plan to run for president in 2020 will almost certainly file for New Hampshire’s first-in-the-nation primary, given the outsized political spotlight and news media attention on that early voting state.

Here’s the list of deadlines through the end of the year, with one caveat: In a handful of states, the political parties set their own filing deadlines, and those dates may not be included in this list.

Alabama: Nov. 8
Arkansas: Nov. 11
New Hampshire: Nov. 15
On Nov.15th the New Hampshire primary closes, and a lot of DNC support will fall in line right after. Entering after that, which the DNC may likely block, would make winning impossible.

Hillary and other potential candidates who are still wondering if they should run (and Hillary will) have 7 days left to file. I suspect we will have at least 4 new candidates by then as the Democrats have been freaking out talking to multiple potential candidates and begging them to run due to the current field being terrible.

7 days left for the Democrat party to save itself. Can they do it?!?!?!!

So is she actually running? I've seen a lot of posts from people around here expecting her to, but surely she wouldn't right? You'd have to mad to want to get so publicly humiliated twice.

It's really not a good look to go through a cycle of debates, then have a bunch of billionaires enter last minute, basically paying people off to get in.

There is no deadline.
First of all, why would Hillary need to register and be on the ballot? That is just a side show.

Let them vote and have whatever names they want on the ballot. When the day comes all the superdelegates will pick Hillary anyway.

Wild guess here. I'm guessing her love for the office has not completely vanished. At least some part of her, if not all, is probably curious if the current lineup is a failure and if the base would vote her instead. If she knew she could win, she wouldn't say no if asked.

In a cave outside of Whooville.
I feel like no matter who goes up against Trump, the debates will be pretty incredible to watch. We've already seen Hillary get knocked down, so it may be more interesting if it's someone else.

Though, if Hillary really did stupidly run again and we got a repeat of 2016, I think she'd feel like she had to "play more dirty." It could end up being more entertaining from that aspect.

You need to win the primaries to be the nominee, the SD's can't win by themselves, and usually the SD's wait until after Super Tuesday to fall behind someone, so if you jump in after the 15th of this month, you'd have a major uphill climb because many donors and DNC benefactors will already be backing people and will only switch by ST, and you need those donors to even WIN ST.

Not to mention the DNC will likely screw over anyone that jumps in late, they control the party.

Who says you have to win to be the nominee? Did the DNC say that?
Who decided on those rules? The DNC did and they can just create a new rule that
replaces the old one "for the good of the party".

Well, the DNC just have to change the rules and pick Hillary anyway.
What are the plebs gonna do about it?

The DNC gives and the DNC takes.

By the way, if the DNC does this and you complain you are probably racist.

We all know the only reply from the DNC will be, "How high," when HRC demands that they jump. Rules are for little people.
Worst case is they just have to claim "she was on the ballot, really, but russian hackers removed her illegaly, that is why her name didn't show up on the ballot"
and thus this is why the super delegates and DNC can vote her in "to fix the wrongs of the russian hackers".

Let's be real, they won't justify shit. If she wants the nomination, she will get it, voters are irrelevant in the DNC primary. It's kind of what Commies do.

Constitutional elections laws can't be overturned by the DNC. Even when they cheated Bernie in 2016, and barely won, they still had to nominate Hillary and she still had to have the delegate count.

Oh and again, the SD alone are't enough to win you actually do need regular delegates.

It's been 4 years and she isn't going to run. The only people keeping her in the spotlight are Republicans.
Democrats already tried this flaccid excuse when Ocasio-Cortez was gaining notoriety.

But it's nice that you so openly admit you're not interested in keeping your idiot candidates on a leash.

"Republicans fault" lol
