@BattleMonkey What is weird about the Ziro escape episode is that they never explain how Aurra Sing escapes. I guess there will be an episode that explains how she got out after "Assassin" and before "Hostage Crisis"

Episode was interesting. I think this was one of the first times if not the first where they actually show that Palpatine is evil outside of his Darth Sidious hologram moments.

It is killing me not knowing what happens to Ashoka after Anakin turns.

Everyone dying I guess can be expected though I have a theory about what could happen.

This is all just wild speculation and lot of stuff we know from episode 3 and such but spoilering it anyways....

Rex is one of the few clone commanders that never appeared in the movies and is directly under Anakin right now with the 501st. As Anakin was leading the 501st in episode 3 and we never see Rex either, I have to imagine they will get rid of him somehow before the show ends. The other clone commanders we know their fate for the most part. Cody serving under Obi wan attempts to kill him in episode 3, Gree tries and fails to kill Yoda on Kashyyk, and Bly guns down Aayla Secura on Felucia.

Seeing how they have had several episodes that have shown Rex with some character growth and being an ARC trooper who are known for their independent nature compared to most clones, I can see him going against order 66. I could see him being involved with saving Ashoka or helping her escape the purge at the end. Not sure what they would do with leaving them escaping order 66 with the series ending other than saying she got away and leaving it ambigious? I kinda think this is plausible becuase Rex and Ashoka are the two main new major recurring characters in the series that didn't appear in other sources like the movies.

She's dead. You can't have Luke as last Jedi in the universe without that happening.

Well there's like 16-18 years gap between the prequels and the OT.

Except the fact there's like 5000 other Jedi running around in the extended fiction.

Not Jedi, but force sensitive folks. During the "Dark Times" period there are still some Jedi running but most end up dead before the OT.

Show is on break till January, but with it starts the shows second half which is promising to be a big step into the action direction, and finally moving the story forward. Director Filion promised that the Senate and side stories are mostly gone now, and it's on to the real meat of the season. Starting with the Savage Opress/Ventress trilogy, comes the 2nd half.

Here is the new trailer for the 2nd half of the season, and some pretty crazy stuff going on here. Some major teasing and spoilers in this video: http://insidetv.ew.com/2010/12/14/star-wars-the-clone-wars-trailer-an-ew-exclusive/

Filoni claims there was a reason for the first half, but I guess we will have to see if that pans on somehow. They showed some growth for Asohka which I guess is important, but the political stuff seemed kind of odd especially with a big younger audience attached to the show.

Yep that teaser for the second half is pretty spoilerific if its not all just a vision.
Dark Side Ahsoka :O

The trailer makes me want to watch again. Is it just me or are the visuals much better now? I stopped at the start of S2 but that trailer looked much nicer than what I remember.

Yeah, the show has made huge leaps in visuals since S2. And made even huger ones since S1.

Graphics have been getting improved quite a bit. Its not so rough around the edges anymore and unlike most shows they have actually aged the characters now from when it started.

Story for Season 3 has really come into its own as well. And the Political stuff has enough level to it that adults can see a level reflecting the real world besides a more in depth look into the Republic etc

Even just in this season the character models have gotten better.

Visuals took a big leap in season 2, and they have again gotten even better in season 3, they have done amazing things with how they texturing the models to look almost hand painted at times. Backgrounds have also been pretty amazing this season.

its looks more fantasy than scifi.

morphing to dragons, and lightsabers with flames

Yea they are going to be going heavy into Sith "sorcery" stuff and other things like Dathomir nightsister magic (their own form of force usage that they consider magic). SW though is really a fantasy series, not really sci fi outside of the space high tech setting. As ANH was described in most of it's production work, it was called often "space fantasy"

well I love fantasy more than scifi.

maybe that's why I like Star Wars more than Star Trek.

I'm not familiar with the sith "force" of things so looking forward to this

Yea starting with new trilogy that was written by Lucas' own daughter when the show returns next month, they are supposed to be showing more background into the dark side stuff. In lot of the other expanded material like the comics especially, they have always put forth a notion of the sith being much more magic like with some of their abilities. The movies only seem to hint at some of this outside of space wizards shooting lightning out of their hands :lol

Wait til you see the stuff coming down the pipe. :D

And technically, the team's not on break, they're still busy working on more eps.

Yes, I know you mean the airing is on break, blah blah. :P

Does anyone know how many seasons there are planned?

At least 5 as they said originally they were planning the show for 100 some episodes but at Celebration they would not say, and that they would go as long as they can and the fans are watching.

Posted before. It better fucking not be one of those (trailer spoilers))
Oh no she turned to the dark side! But she realized it's no good! Now she's a jedi again! Yay. End episode.

Yea I kind of fear that too. I never expected them to
go with the route of her turning Dark and really can't see them dumping the character like that. I can of think it's probably some kind of trick or temporary thing anyways. If she did go Dark I would hope they would keep it going into the next season at least before resolving it but they seem to like to resolve things pretty quick.... It would be an interesting thing to play into Anakin's dark development, having to deal with the situation.

Jar Jar pretending to be a jedi and saving the day through whacky hijinks and a giant fish? That pops to mind immediately.

Anything involving that ridiculous student of Anakins (which is like half the show).

That episode made me want to Michael Vick puppies

Just saw the first 4 episodes, pretty decent show actually. Still feels a bit kiddy, which is to be expected, and the intro VO is hilariously OTT. The droids talk way too much and the jokes aren't very funny, but I'm hoping that dies down a bit.

Combat wise, it's a little slow, and I'd prefer it if it was a little smarter too, but it is a kids show I guess so not really something to complain too much about. I read here that the second season is better, by how much may I ask? Just a bit or quite a lot?

The show overall gets better and better as it goes. Combat picks up in battle episodes etc. Visually it of course improves a bunch too. You get the occasional goofy stuff with Jar Jar and such but the overall tone of the show is alot darker in many cases than even the movies ever approached I would say.

Season 2 is the best of the 3 so far. Season 1 might be the worst, but most of the most memorable moments are in it. Season 2 made me a fan of the show (after I crusaded against it for not being like the 2D one).

But Season 1 has a more classic Star Wars feel, of more battles and high flying adventure. Season 2 expands into more territory to tell stories about (like consequences of war, the stakes of it, and cooler action pieces), with longer and better stories and graphics. Season 3 has gone a bit too far into being too political and topical, so if you like action in your Star Wars, you may get bored. But it definitely is smarter.

The droid jokes do die down quickly though. They are no longer around in the show.

Show improves in animation, and stories, though it is still a bit hit or miss at times, especially when they have episodes focus on something like Jar Jar or the droids. Season 2 saw a big improvement with some of the story lines. When the show works, it works well and nails the original Star Wars feel of pulp fantasy adventure. It shows some nice insights into what was going on in the gap of the movies that skipped the Clone War, and explains some aspects a bit better like Season 3 showing us more of the separatist side of things. First half of season 3 was mostly behind the scenes type of episodes and lot of political stuff, but the 2nd half is supposed to be action packed.

But if you thought the first 4 episodes were decent, you should enjoy the rest of it for sure.

Thanks for the answers, I'll continue watching.

Also, it really makes me wonder why they never made some sort of Star Wars live action tv show for a more adult market.

It's coming. I think it takes place during episodes 3 and 4, and will be more expanded universe stuff or something along those lines.

They are, but it might not happen because they can't figure out how to do it financially. Early pre production was underway and Lucas apparently wrote the story for most of the episodes, but they are trying to figure out how they can do it. It's been in the works for a while but last May Lucas announced that it was on hold as they are trying to figure out the money thing.

It was to take place between the trilogies, and feature all new characters. The only confirmed original character was going to be Boba Fett.

Wizards of the Coast originally took that art and used it for the model of their Nightsister game miniature. Was surprised to see the character design in the CW since I saw it years ago, but is nice to see them have continuity in the design between the mediums.

Ventress looks a lot better with her punk rock purple hair. Also she was able to force choke both Obi and Ani with ease. The nightsisters are cooler than I thought; like space witch ninja cool.

I liked the lighting for the opening sequence. It was amazingly close to that of the beginning of Episode 3. Especially how the shadows followed the character's facial features.

Also, Palpatine having Dooku get rid of Ventress was quite a big moment for this series.

Have to wonder what they will do with Ventress after this trilogy is over with. With Opress being introduced, I wonder if they really plan to keep him around as a permanent character.

I don't see him lasting long, but it would be nice to have a new face around.
