This would be an interesting way to play some exclusives but not on the phone. Better if it was available on my laptop or on my samsung tv

"some".

It has nothing to do with Sony vs MS, the service just makes no sense if you stop and take a minute to calculate its total cost over 5 years and how much it would cost you to buy the same games (most are pretty cheap by now, and if you only take those who interest you... which to be honest over 150 games very few actually truly interest anyone enough to warrant a purchase).

But if you needed to get one and you have a playstation and PC/xbox I don't see how someone would end up getting gamepass over PSNow (obviously some people are just not able to think straight, I can't account for that).
So don't subscribe. Then you can quit bitching about it and we can quit reading your bitching. Win, win.

Anyway, there are many reasons why you might want to stream a game on a console that could play it natively. You get near instantaneous access, with no waiting for the game to download and install. This is convenient if you just want to "try" a game on impulse, or you have a guest over and he wants to play something right away. Also, if you are low on available hard drive space, then you don't have to clear off space before downloading.
this, such a good use case for streaming, while your band new game is installing and updating locally you can stream it (in a bit lower quality) but then instantly switch to local version when the installation is completed

Only if you guys stop praising it, it annoys me to no end. Just put me on ignore if you care so much.

This is a service that's objectively bad, and seeing my hobby going in the gaas direction breaks my heart... Especially on a service that offers so little (and manage to fool people into thinking that it's because of "quality").

If it bothers you that much, why are you in a cloud gaming thread? Seeking out threads about something that "annoys you to no end" just to bitch about is ratuer juvenile imo.

It's not objectively bad, you subjectively don't like it. Personally , I love it. I've played a tonne of games I otherwise wouldn't have, for less money than I otherwise would have. The level of entry is minimal, and with streaming it's even smaller.

That you think game pass is gaas just speaks to your ignorance. But please prove me wrong. Show me how Wasteland 3, Yakuza series, Hellblade and more are all gaas.

Use the "Ignore thread" feature instead of shitting up threads about things you don't like.

Pretty sad that others enjoying something annoys you.

I mean this sincerely, you need to get a fucking life.

Played Forza Horizon 4 for about 30 min on my phone, slight audio issues, no serious lag, just used my normal xbox one controller. About 20-30 seconds to load into the game. Not as good as on the tv but very playable. As a add on service im extremely happy to get it for no extra cost.

I don't use any of these services, but given what they have on offer I can see PSN as being the better value--by far.

And effectively, this is Sony's role to show their products and services are valuable to us, just like MS... but because MS keeps telling you their service is worthwhile does not make it true.
I mostly play games on my Playstation 4, but I used PS Now and Game Pass for a while now, and in my opinion Game Pass destroys PS Now. Mostly because of the new games. It's cool to have a vast backlog of stuff to play, but being able to get stuff like Ori and the Will of the Wisp and Gears 5 on launch day included in Game Pass simply has more value than a backlog of old games. It feels like a completely different beast than other game streaming services because it gives you things you would 100% spend money on, I would absolutely have bought games like Gears, Forza, Ori, Outer Worlds, and many others but I got them all in Game Pass. While the backlog games are cool, I can be without them.

The service can't be objectionably bad if enough people are interested in supporting it. They are getting what they want out of it. If you do not like it your option is to not subscribe to it. Honestly, I have been in the beta for a while. It hasn't worked as well for me as it has others. That does not mean they should not enjoy it.

I do have some of the same fears as GAAS. It does suck to see so many people accepting that future but it is not going to change because the majority (and money that comes with them) is going to win out. I will still try to stick with single player/"complete" games as long as they are available. If they dry up there is always retro gaming. Lord knows I have a back log that could last me the rest of my life.

Thats going to happen with or without game pass. Your opinion of the quality is just that, an opinion.

I don't see the appeal to this at all. If you're mobile, you're going to be using crappy hotel WiFi or work wifi which creates latency.

The true fun is when parents who don't have unlimited data get that bill lol

It is so objectively bad that you have to go into every gamepass related thread to express how bad it is, even though you don't believe in or use the service. That is called trolling.

Gamepass is a great deal for those of us who use it. I actually have 2 subscriptions to it, which is awesome for my boys and I. You keep talking about how great PSNow is, but PSNow doesn't offer exclusives day one, doesn't include the cost of PS Plus in it, isn't accessible on PC and now my android phone, and isn't an option to those who only own an Xbox. So... You have no point other than bitching.

Also I won't put you on ignore because I'd rather call out your bullshit trolling because guys like you (or girls) do what they can to fuck up every one of these threads. This thread and about game streaming via gamepass and you are on here talking about PSNow. It's apples to organges and more importantly, not relevant to the thread

Do people actually want to play these games on their phone? Serious question.
I can't speak for anyone else, but from my experience it's far from optimal for most games. I'd much rather play "console-style games" on a decent-sized screen with physical controls.

Most console games are designed with text and UI elements that are visible on a large screen. They're meant for you to have access to one or more directional controls (digital joypad, analog thumbsticks), several face buttons, and a few shoulder buttons/triggers. Transplanting games to a mobile phone means that the text and UI elements are shrunken down drastically, and the tactile controls are replaced with a smattering of touch-and-drag icons that obscure a portion of the screen when you use them.

You could attach a physical controller to a phone, but I don't know many people who would tote around a controller and whatever other accessory is needed to mount or prop up their phone. Or you could pay a lot of money for a dedicated mobile phone controller with limited utility. I have no interest in doing either of these.

On top of all of that, if you're out of your home, then you have to deal with wireless network options that might not be suitable for streaming video games.

I think it's good to give people the option to stream console games to a phone, but it's not viable as someone's primary or only way to play these games.

I tried to play Xcloud through my laptop with Samsung Dex on my s10 with a 8bitdo sn30 pro+ controller and unfortunately there's a lot of lag.

Xcloud runs great on the phone itself with my Razer Kishi which is great for games I have on switch but that don't run that great on switch, like Bloodstained.

Do people actually want to play these games on a Nintendo Switch? :messenger_hushed:

I'll be excited when they launch a windows app though. Playing GeForce Now through my laptop is great.
I dunno maybe I'm just being old but all I play on my phone is dumb little phone games where I merge blocks and shit.
