CNN: Senate rejects full Obamacare repeal without replacement

Wait, what? Didn't they pass yesterday to go through with discussing the Repeal?

Or did they spend a whole 24 hours discussing it and repeal it today? What is happening

Trump's going to have another public message begging to repeal Obamacare with sick people literally dying behind him next, isn't he?

How bad would that be?

Let's call it the "ACA Death Spiral Act" because it largely leaves the ACA intact but removes the individual mandate which means that no insurance company in its right mind would want to continue participating in the exchanges.

They will just keep tossing variations until one of them passes.
It must be comforting to know that the GOP is so concerned about the lives of Americans that their ideal healthcare is "Whatever we can get to the bare minimum of 50 votes".

just end all healthcare, get it over with. repurpose all hospitals as megachurches and let GOD take care of the people. who needs a stupid "MRI" or "CT"??

How bad would that be?

It'll basically starve the ACA into oblivion but the GOP has to own it.

They moved forward with the debate on the bill from the House (the AHCA). Meaning they voted to vote.
Then they voted on the Senate-amended AHCA bill (the BCRA) which required 60 votes because they didn't have a CBO score. That failed.
Today they voted on a "partial" repeal of Obamacare in 2 years without a replacement. That needed 50 votes and failed.
Now they are likely to put up a "skinny repeal" which looks like it will remove the individual mandate, the employer mandate, and medical device tax.

No, they passed yesterday to debate and add amendments which will lead into a vote-a-rama which will lead to votes on amendments every few minutes. They voted against the BCRA Repeal and Replace yesterday. They voted against full repeal today. Later today or tomorrow they'll vote against Skinny Repeal. Then the skinnier repeal of Graham-Cassidy is up next(all it does is allow states to adjust tax penalties for non-buyers and allow them to opt out of Obamacare for their own system that meets certain requirements). Then Dems will start throwing shit out.

They passed a thing that will let them spend a while proposing and voting on bullshit amendments that don't mean anything; at the end McConnell will put up his own amendment which will be the only one that matters. The votes right now are misleading--those seven Republicans can pivot and vote for whatever McConnell shovels out later, and try to cover themselves with their no votes on full repeal.

Amendments will come and go, but literally the only votes that matter were the ones yesterday and the ones on the bill including McConnell's final amendment that can literally wipe out the results of every other vote and replace it with new shit.

Yesterday they voted to proceed to debate on a number of bills, several of which have now failed.

If one passes, it'll be the Skinny Repeal.

*yawn*

Someone please run over Mitch McConnell so he can go lay in a hospital bed supported by his health care paid by taxpayers. At least that will keep his turtle ass off the floor for a while.

So it's basically a Lightning Round.
