Michael Cohen prepared to tell Mueller

Cohen alleges that he was present, along with several others, when Trump was informed of the Russians' offer by Trump Jr. By Cohen's account, Trump approved going ahead with the meeting with the Russians, according to sources.

So, Don Jr lied to the Senate judiciary committee, and the Don lied to the American people again.

This is the worst news yet for our President, and it's becoming evident that he can't be trusted about anything.

It's quite sinister. A presidential candidate in the United States authorized a secret meeting with a foreign enemy who was offering him dirt on his opponent to help him get elected. The President and his son (under oath) have now lied about it numerous times.

If this ever gets verified, Trump is done.

Cohen says otherwise, and it should be obvious by now Trump's a serial liar.

The next goal post they're going to move to? "Collusion isn't illegal."

My guess is that it's disinformation. If Cohen was recording porn star conversations, he's definitely recording stuff like this.

Either way, Cohen says that there were others in the room. They're going to be scared to deny it now.

Why do people invest so much into the whole Trump thing? Time will tell, meaning that the more you invest, the more like a total ass you'll look like in the end, if the opposite of your investment occurs. At that point you'll either have to double down reaching into conspiracy theory or you'll have to basically own up to your earlier position and admit yourself an ass. This partisan lunacy is just getting crazy, where confirmation bias seems to rule on both sides and some retarded concept of "ideological war" seems to be waged.
There's wise words surprisingly from the Bible that lets us deal with this and that's Proverbs 29:11.

Not sure what country you are from. But in the United States it is not legal for a presidential candidate to have people in his campaign meet with a foreign entity to get dirt on a rival presidential candidate. If you are even contacted by a foreign nation-state is such a manner, you are suppose to report it to the F.B.I. Not cover it up. People only lie when they have something to hide.

If this is true, Trump is done.

Probably because:

1. This contradicts Cohen's previous testimony, under oath, to congress, making him unreliable.
2. This would literally be the holy grail of the investigation, so why would Mueller leak it if he had any faith in it?

Cohen also seems like a shady figure.

But my post was mainly thinking about it from a legal perspective. Without evidence I don't think this will amount to anything.

It will if the FBI have evidence that backs it up. Alot of times its not just testimony or just evidence that matters most in a legal case. Its the combination of the two.

If this news is accurate and the FBI has evidence to support Cohen's claim then this is the most damaging evidence that we know of. Its direct proof that not only was trump aware of the meeting, but approved of accepting political support from a foreign nation to help him in the election.


And before anyone brings up the "OH BUT IT WAS JUST ABOUT ADOPTION" talking point. Thats not the point. The point is that the entire meeting was set up under the pretense of accepting aid from a hostile government. It doesn't matter that it didn't end up being that. It matters that Trump and his goonsquad were okay with it in the first place.

The fact this got out shows that it is baseless. Manafort made similarly "powerful" claims when he got indicted on entirely unrelated charges, and they all fell through.

It also contradicts his previous testimony under oath, so I'm not sure why you put more stock in this now when he is being coerced with leniency on his taxi scheme. We know people like when you put the screws to them - it's why torture does not work.

Hopefully Trump gets some balls and goes after Fusion GPS for working with a hostile government after this is all said and done. Maybe reassign Mueller to investigate them and McMuffin and McCain.

Trump will not be touching Mueller or his investigation. He has members of his own party telling him not to do that.

I'm sorry but Cohen has no credibility any longer. He is facing state charges and is desperate for a way out. He secretly records his own clients, leaks that to the press in edited format, yet has no secret recording of this one. It may not seem like a big deal if you want a gotcha moment for Trump, but an attorney secretly recording his client is not something many attorneys or clients will ever support. And my gosh, he even lied to CNN's guy and said he was not recording him when he was per yesterdays news.

My favourite current argument is “well we should have good relationship with Russia”. Yeah, country that invaded its neighbour, meddles with elections, shoots down a commercial airplane and poisons people who disagree with the president is someone you should be buddies with.

When that country has half of the world's nuclear weapons yes you find away to get along. You don't go making a bad situation worse. What happened in Ukraine is fucked up. No denying that. But it's not the flash point to nuclear war and it never should be.

what is this Stockholm syndrome crap? You are basically saying we should let Russia walk all over us (and others) because they have nuclear weapons. Nobody is suggesting we should go staight to nuclear war. We have a gulf of retaliatory options between getting along and nuclear war

Bottom line is either Trump's former lawyer is a liar or his son is a liar. Perjury deserves jail time.

Trump doesn't have to be impeached either; he can be persuaded to resign. The congressional leadership blocking the House's shortlived attempt at firing Rosenstein shows they are still willing to go against Trump at times.
