Feel free to point out any mistakes. I will keep this topic up to date as good as I can!

My thoughts: Launch lineup looks pretty similar and depends mostly on taste. No clear winner there. For 2014 and beyond MS has currently more titles announced than Sony.

Thanks for the compilation. 'Meh' all around for 2013 PS4 and Xbox One games, guess it always prudent to wait for a year or two if one feels this way.

Nice work putting this together, but this list is not complete. Sony has only announced retail launch window titles. No digital titles announced yet beyond Minecraft and that Housemarque shooter (forget the name)

Lists kinda bum me out.

On the PS4 side, the only ones I'm really considering for launch are Killzone and Knack. Neither of which really excite me.

If I somehow get enough money for an Xbox this year, I still don't think I'd bite. The only exciting games are Crimson Dragon and Killer Instinct, but both have been relegated down to dd titles. :( Maybe I'd get Ryse if I picked up a One I guess.

See you all in late 2014 when there's games!

You know as an early adopter of consoles I agree with you here. I actually put a hundred down on the PS4 but the launch title list is seriously depressing. Killzone? Knack? Drive Club? That's it for the exclusives? Totally underwhelming.

Flower for PS4? Neat.
Also, Rime is a full-on exclusive (not just console debut)
As is Everybody's Gone to the Rapture.
Fixed

They did. Look at their PR release (bottom).

How is titanfall exclusive console debut when it comes out on PC? Shouldnt it be kinda exclusive?
360 port is delayed, it only releases on PC and XB1. There is no talk of timed exclusivity, so it probably comes to other platforms later. So only debut.

They both left it up to the 3rd parties. While I'll end up getting a PS3 when there's good exclusives announced, only Dead Rising 3 is something I'd like to try (but XBONE). Maybe Knack as well.

So launch window is between release and December 31, per their official definitions? What was the intended launch window when Nintendo used that term for games like Pikmin?

Honestly, frustrated at the launch and now I'm thinking Microsoft is gaining the edge for me. Here's what I truly want at launch:

Titanfall
Destiny
The Division
Infamous: Second Son

Glad we get teased with what we actually want to play. That being said, I planned on:

Battlefield 4 - PS4
Watch-Dogs - PS4
Dead Rising 3 - Xbox One
Killer Instinct - Xbox One

but Microsoft won't give launch details on the line-up and the system. Sony is vague as to exactly what is a launch game, and what comes out before 2013. It's late August... just lay down what your launch plans are for both companies, Sony gives a system launch date but hasn't 100% confirmed what's coming at launch? (maybe I'm missing something there) and Microsoft confirms their launch lineup, but doesn't give a launch date? Both companies say you can buy last gen and trade up.... fuk that. GTA V will be fine until the dust settles I guess.

Nice list, I think separating it into smaller categories complicates the list.

The way I see it Sony has a shit tonne of smaller indie type games and fewer big budget games (announced anyway) I find their lineup disappointing apart from infamous and whatever ND have cooking. MS is the opposite, they have a really nice lineup of larger budget but far fewer smaller arcade style games. That being said there is much to be announced for TGS and beyond.

For me, 2014 will be truly amazing with Witcher 3, Dragon Age, MGS V, Fable and Division.

Oh cool, I didn't know Flower was getting a PS4 release. Is it the exact same game as the PS3 version, or is there new stuff? I love that game so much.

Why on earth would you buy Battlefield 4 on PS4 over Xbox?

Well read the op..

Nice lists!

You're missing Minecraft for Xbox One btw :)
Added.

I'm pretty sure Helldivers and Rime are both PS4 only since they are published by Sony and they trademarked the names.
Fixed.

No it is not. It is PS3/4 and PC only.
Added under upcoming.

All PS4 Disc/Digital games are confirmed for Day 1. Digital only titles are guaranteed between Day 1 and December 31st 2013. Many of them are actually launch titles as well though (Flower, ResoGun, etc.).

Yup, there will be much more coming. Thanks btw. There are already separate threads for the individual line-ups, so this thread is more intended to compare and give a good overlook. Therefore I think separating it into these categories makes sense, as people are likely interested in them and it saves answering the same questions over and over again.

Both line-ups are extremely solid and filled up with an incredible amount of variation (for a traditional launch).

Prefer Sony's launch quite a bit, yet slightly disappointed they are seemingly ignoring the camera and motion games at the start; it's a highly overrated dead-end technology, but the few things it can do (sports, dance) fill an important niche.

The white robots ( forgot the actual name ) demo is pre-installed on PS4

PAULINK

I microwave steaks.
I was pretty hyped about picking up either next gen launch but this list is pretty skim, plenty of multiconsole releases that I can easily play on older consoles.

Sony defines it like that yeah. MS only released Day 1 plan, we don't know if they plan to release more over November/December.

Nice list and just a quick scan I don't see again wrong. GJ OP.
You are welcome dude :)

We don't know yet, but at least kick ass graphics are probably guaranteed ;)

Titanfall is X1 , 360, PC

and OP doesn't mention FF XIV which is PS4, PS3, PC.
FF added. 360 port for Titanfall is delayed.

Just another pointer, Rime is not coming to Vita, just PS4 :)
Thanks. Probably someone confused remote-play with separate Vita release. Going to be painful the coming gen lol

I wish Peggle 2 were also on PS4. =(
Sorry dude. Timed exclusive. You will have to wait for a bit. It will come to PS4 eventually.

No compelling PS4 exclusives for quite some time. All the games I want I can get on PC since they're third party...

Wow, I was not expecting that. I think I'll save the money and pump it into some missed PS3 games, or get a Vita now that it's on pricedrop.

Disappointing, I was excited to be an early adopter. But I really can't justify the $400 when I would be playing nothing on the system until Second Son.

I don't care about either MS or Sony 1st party games so I'm struggling to decide which one to get first (I'll have all eventually). PS4 was winning before MS flip-flopped on their shit and sound ok again now.

While I want Titanfall, as far as actual launch is concerned - Peggle 2 might actually be a deciding killer app for me lolz.

I'm really liking the idea of both Infamous SS and Titanfall coming out in the Spring. That's too damn perfect.
