I honestly haven't heard much about Control at all, I find this choice rather interesting. I heard the scene where the tunnel kept altering was pretty cool. Then playing with all the physics was pretty cool, very Psi-Ops like, which interested me a ton actually. But I didn't hear anything about the story, music, or overall package honestly. 
I still find it amusing that if you say you loved or even minorly enjoyed Death Stranding you're labeled a "Kojima bot" or "Kojima stan". Straight up dorks, lmao.

Not really, the NSMB series were largely low tier platformers while the new Fire Emblem games are god tier RPG games. Except its not, you didn't even bother play Three Houses, the game is very different than rest of the FE games both the structure and gameplay, if your complain is why every FE games is SRPG then might as well complain why every Persona/SMT are turn based RPGs.

Control is certainly a competent game, but if you're looking for an innovative experience that melds gameplay and story in a way not seen before, none of the contenders for GOTY really rise up to the the task.
Control is rather pedestrian. Gameplay is fun but you do the shooting, then you watch the cutscene. Rinse and repeat. Its best quality is that busywork is kept to a minimum. The story lost me, and I always hate when games make the story an optionable collectible rather than telling it organically.
The Outer Worlds has been mentioned as another GOTY contender. Again, a quality game but it's just Fallout. I can't even say it's Fallout-like. It's literally just Fallout. How is that a GOTY?

Mirage Session is a crossover between FE and SMT, its not full FE game. I also criticize games like Horizon Zero Dawn and RDR2 but I'm not like to shit absolutely anything and everything, it feels like no longer enjoy playing video game.

Personally I'd give it to Fire Emblem Three Houses. Control was a weird case for me, on paper it sounds like a game I'd love (being a fan of House of Leaves, Lynch, Lovecraft, and the game genre) but it didn't do it for me.
