The amount of written stuff is insane... You wouldn't pay attention to the content.
Well you'd streamline it and put it in downtime parts.

As you say there is loads of written content which isn't ideal as it leads to stop/start gameplay.

Yes you are right, at the same time you don't really have to read the stuff you collect immediately after collecting it. Personally I clean up an area and then I dedicate myself to the reading. :)

I’m a huge fan of all remedy games and I’ve just started this.

Awkward question - please excuse me if I’m way off base (as I’ve said I’m not far into the game), but does this game have a kind of satanic tone?

It just seems kind of disturbing in a kind of subliminal way and I can be a little sensitive about this topic so I was wondering if other players could comment to either reassure or confirm my initial impression?

I played it late at night (and in an exhausted state so it could well just be my own sensitivity here).
No ! i didn't see anything " satanic " or " Illuminati " in the game , unlike Borderlands 3

first patch is out now , installed it last night , the game is much better now specifically in combat ( i have the normal PS4 ) 😉

So good that they take place in the same universe.

Finding those docs linking them together was one of the coolest moments in the game for me

Really good article explaining all of the connections. Had no idea Quantum Break basically takes place in the same universe too. AWE’s and the Bureau get mentioned in it.

Do I have to read about Alan Wake now? It’s been so long since I’ve played that game that I don’t remember the story nor how it ended

You just need to know that AWE is an abbreviation for "Altered World Events". For those who want to correlate it to Alan Wake: the events at Bright Falls are explicitly referenced and defined as an Altered World Event, and the clicker and/or lake/cabin as Object of Power / Altered Items. The Bureau of Control investigated the events, including interviewing Wake's wife. Wake is assumed to be trapped in another dimension.

So fucking cool

I always thought it was going to be like this. That is the best way to connect different games one with another and give a sense of continuity to things which apparently have nothing in common. Clever move.

Beat the game yesterday. This was a nice TPS with a good story. I hope there is a Control 2 somewhere down the line.

I've got most of Remedy's games in my backlog. If Alan Wake is half as trippy as this, I've waited way too long to play it.

Anyone know if the patch fixed the issue where guns couldn't be upgraded for no apparent reason?

Yeah, I think it was constructing 'pierce' that was bugged.

PROGRESSION FIXES
A number of issues to do with progression have also been fixed with the Control 1.03 update. These include times when a player could not acquire “Pierce Charging Efficiency” and “Spin Grouping Efficiency” upgrades. There was also an issue that prevented players from activating the Pierce weapon form upgrade. Other issues affecting player progression in several missions have also been fixed.

This game looks significantly worse with the update. Hair textures have so much aliasing it's ridiculous, face textures are blurry. Like... Wow..

Shit, I really need to get back in and finish this game over the weekend. Cod betas and borderlands have taken up all my gaming time recently.

I’m going to buy this after I complete Days Gone

when will it hit the 39.99 previously owned price?

Bought this at launch to support Remedy however I could. I knew this game would flop and I could buy it cheaper soon, but I really don't want to see them close.

I only just started playing yesterday. I wasn't super interested at first, but the deeper I get the more I love the world they've built. It feels a little like the TV miniseries "The Lost Room" at times, but with more paranormal shit and a neat conspiracy-laden branch of the government. Can't wait to get deeper.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.

I've always loved Remedy's games and this doesn't disappoint either. Quite the contrary, it's a breath of fresh air after the streamlined AAA games I tend to play. This game has become one of my all-time favorites, it's awesome and I can't wait for the DLCs. I'm a Twin Peaks fan so this was right up in my alley, it's a very unique game and I recommend it to everyone who wants to experience something new. I also really liked that it has none of this SJW bullshit, no one ever talks about that you play as a "strong woman", Jesse is a likeable character without forcing any bullshit agenda upon us. I also think that their Northlight engine could be one of the best in the industry, but unfortunately the image quality and the framerate issues prevent it being so. Hopefully they will be able to show what this engine is really capable of on nextgen machines. If you like and want to support single-player, story driven games then please buy it, you won't be disappointed.

I started playing the game recently, and I'm enjoying it more than I would have hoped. Glad I managed to buy it with the soundtrack CD. :messenger_smiling:

I really wanna replay this but the fact you can only have one save going sucks balls. The loadout and mods I have are so good and I want those exact ones for all of the DLC 😩

I've finally started playing the game and I have to stay that other than the fugly main character model (compared to the box art and Quantum Break) I'm loving it. The powers are awesome (the first time you catch the rocket and send it back you feel like a true badass), the enemy variety is nice, destruction is very satisfying (despite tanking performance) and the story is interesting so far. Can't wait to play more. :)

I heard this game is on the short side?
That try?

I mean after playing Days Gone for 50 hours I’m sure any game will feel short

Short or not it's an experience you should try. Sometimes games remind you what you love about the hobby, this is one of them.
Pretty much the best summary of why you should play this game. It owns the fact it is a game and the primary reason to play is to feel entertained and have fun. It tells a unique and interesting story without seekin the validation

Oh boy the Mold-1 boss was tough. I attempted the fight while still about half way through the game and didn't want to give up and leave it for later. Finally did it after 20 attempts and drastically changing the approach. ;)

Yeah
And I’m not one of those people who complain about short games. Believe it or not I prefer short games because it gives me incentive to play it again in a different way
