Dead or Alive is a great fighting game. People focus way too much on the "lolz boob physics" (while ignoring that other games, like Soul Calibur, aren't any better in that department) and (willingly?) ignore that it has a pretty deep system that requires knowledge of the game, reading, baiting, and good execution to master.
I recently played DOA2 on PS2. I was amazed by how tactical the game is. The AI is perfectly happy to kick your ass into the dirt on the first encounter if you just go in mashing buttons.

Rockstar makes terrible games when it comes to gameplay. KB+M controls make them playable.

BotW is boring game

I can enjoy AC games

FPS games don't work with a controller

Cyberpunk 2077 is great fun (I play on PC)

Fallout -> Elder Scrolls by miles

Nintendo put out all their ambitious software at the start of the switches life cycle, and have since been coasting on good will and brand nostalgia while they rely on re-releases and low cost, over priced shovel ware like mario golf super rush. Nintendo wont do anything meaningful or exciting unless they have something to prove. Sony is becoming the same way, and it fucking sucks

Cyberpunk 2077 was the best thing that ever happened to RDR2. People used to say it was boring and too realistic and now it is the standard CDPR failed to live up to.

English dubs in Japanese video games is almost always terrible. The only exception i can think of is the MGS series... and I think the English dub is the "original" one so it kinda doesn't count?

The Wii-u was a great console with a lot of potential. Nintendo just screwed up.

Playstation 4 and playstation 5 are terrible consoles. Don't get me wrong. The games are great. It's just that the console has terrible UI and are not backwards compatible. The servers they are connected are also terrible resulting in slow downloads.

looking back, im not sure how the hell i got through the first halo. all the levels look the same and i kept getting lost because of it. its just a bad game but it was never popular for its campaign was it? it was the novelty of xbox live and multiplayer gaming why it took off.

I bought the Halo MCC on PC because of nostalgia of Halo 1.

It took me ages because I got bored all the time even though I generally am happy I played through it.
Generic gunplay, meh acting, same-y indoor sections, average graphics (even for the time), ...
Though I have a soft spot for the amazing grand outdoor maps of Bungie. (Albeit somewhat empty.)

I think Destiny 2 is more my jam Bungie wise.

Switch is a place for cheap gaming, so i always said paying $300 for it is a sign that you don't value your own money. Besides, even as impressive as "impossible" port are, they should not cost $60 when they barely can keep the frame rate above 20.

There is a reason the success stories always come from indies launching their games for $20 or less: because people know that those games will be in line with the hardware is capable of.

The Last Of Us 2 is a bunch of gayism feminism bullshit combined together!

Pfft. That's so old news. I love how in Era they are still at it:

"Cyberpunk talk
Hogwarts Legacy talk

Errr... Can this OT stay transphobia proof please?"

"Apologies. It is my dream game so want to talk about it but I will most likely donate 60 or 70$ to an trans organization while buying day 1 so yeah.."

Okay I have a good one. DmC (the American one) is infinitely better than the ones that came before it, the backlash only came from butthurt weeboo virgins who didn't get what they wanted. The gameplay is amazing, the narrative is interesting and fresh and the music is awesome. People saying that the story is gritty and Dante is edgy or whatever it's true to an extent but for me, it's part of the fun, the old ones are equally ridiculous in different ways.

Luigi’s Mansion games need more to fully satisfy a hardcore gamer. They’re more akin to an extended walk through a very entertaining Haunted House. It’s an amusing game and very, very fun but not enough to leave worthwhile impression that would make you want to replay it. Replay value is essentially none

Made this assessment with Luigi’s Mansion 3 in mind

I enjoyed 2 the best. Piecemeal missions are best suited to the game’s action than one big sprawling mansion/hotel imo. 2 is the most replayable of the bunch, while I never liked 1 and while 3 is amazingly creative, I never finished my second playthrough of it.

DmC is actually the first game I played in the series & I didn't enjoy the previous games in the series as a result when I tried them afterwards.

Played Halo 1-3 on my 360 and gave the Halo 3 multiplayer a serious effort. None of it struck me as anything to write home about. I recall finding the levels, guns and enemies and MC’s design boring and the whole thing fell flat for me. Never looked back. I’ve seen the new version in all the previews and feel cold amidst this and other forums excitement. Party on dudes.

Most exclusive switch games are ugly as fuck (pokemon, xenoblade 2, fire emblem 3 houses), run horribly (pokemon, fire emblem 3 houses), are very boring (pokemon, fire emblem 3 houses), overrated (pokemon, zelda), unfinished (pokemon, mario golf), worse than their predecessors (pokemon, mario golf), the worst examples of their respective genres (pokemon is a shit RPG, 3 houses is a strategy game that requires no strategy, mario golf somehow is lacking in the golf part), and all can be played on one of the worst designed controllers in history on a system that is overpriced and outdated. Good luck trying to get any value out of the online.

I know it may be gamer blasphemy to say but I cannot find any interest in Nintendo IPs. I bought a switch to play Mario Odyessy and Zelda BOTW. But I don't find any charm in the Mario character and Zelda just seems like a boring collectathon. I have tried to play Mario games but I just lose interest and have never finished one.

I really haven't enjoyed any of the Zelda games.
The stupid thing about it that I know and would never dispute the fact re really good games and I really do want to enjoy them and there hasn't been one that I've not tried to enjoy more than once. It doesn't matter which game it is, I just lose interest really quickly and I hate that I do.
I do wonder whether I perhaps expect too much of them and that's what spoils them for me, I know they're considered to be some of the best console games ever and that I'm carrying that into the games when I try them. Lately I have been thinking about just starting at the beginning again and going back to the FDS game or maybe even the SNES remake of that game.
So there you go, I'm weird. 🤷‍♂️

Nintendo games are for children. I understand the polish and how they can be fun for kids but I don't understand still liking them enough to spend time on them over many other more mature games. In before someone says I'm immature for having this opinion. It's just my opinion. Get over it.
Guess it's my inner child that enjoys them. But, as I remember it from the 70s, games in general were for kids. There were no "mature" games. I'm glad they moved into the neighborhood, but they're kind of a different form of entertainment using the same technology. I mean, I don't watch porn for the stories. But I don't only watch porn.

Playstation fans are slowly turning into Nintendo fans in that no matter what bone-headed, lazy, anti-consumer decision they make, they give them a pass.
Microsoft is the only one trying to change the industry and are THE WORST - that is until Sony tries to copy them. Then said pass is given.

Horizon: Zero Dawn was boring asf and over hyped
i quite enjoyed it. i liked the tech dinos and aloy is an interesting character. combat was fun too.

but it was definitely boring/tedious at times and generally overrated. the map was pretty to look at but gave very little reason to explore. it didn't help that the missions had you going from one end of the map to other all the time. i eventually started fast travelling all the time. as for the story, waaaaay to much of it was locked behind notes/audio tapes which you need to go discover and therefore can easily miss. i don't have anything against telling story that way but it relied way too heavily on them.

i'm interested to see what they do with Forbidden West. hopefully the world is more enjoyable/rewarding to explore and they can do a better job of telling the story through cutscenes/conversation with characters. by all means put some details in notes/tapes but they should only provide background info/lore.

i'm in no rush to get the game but i'll probably pick it up at some point if it fixes the major issues i had with the original.

Sick of Sony’s shit. Bring back Socom, get off your lazy asses and do at least PS1 BC. Apologize for the lazy PS1 Classic, bring back some other great franchises such as Jumping Flash, Jet Moro, and Wipeout quit charging more than your competition, quit lying about things like generations.

Think I’ll just keep my PS3

I don't care that Sony is being kind of anti-consumer now that they're back on top. It's the way of the world, all of these faceless gaming corporations rubberband between being really nice when they're behind, and greedy when they're in the lead. It's just business, fuck it. I was still buying Microsoft consoles and games when they were on top and going for a weird super DRM path (however briefly) and charging for online when Sony wasn't, I am still buying Sony products now that they're kind of being cocks about things, and I still buy old-ass Switch games for $60 because I want to play them and enjoy them. Fuck it. Leave the console warring at the door and just do you, because none of these titans gives a shit about you beyond how much they can delve into your wallet.

Welcome to the hobby, I guess, to you newcomers complaining about the state of things: the faces may change between the roles of protag and antag gen-to-gen, but things always remain the same.

Halo after the first 3 games is actually a really mediocre shooter with nothing good to offer other than nostalgy.

Nintendo is a prank company that pranks users to think they are the best while offering subpar experiences compared to the other players in the market, yes they makes some good games once in a while but their success is due to pure brand loyalty.

Nintendo are poor and treat their fans like mugs

EA actually make good games (now and again)

PS 5 front end is a joke

Series X is the best console since the Saturn

Modern gaming is brilliant

I cry about SonyGaf from my chair in Redmond, WA
I enjoy some of Microsofts games therefore I'm. A xbox fanboy despite only being on pc.

I'm not interested in Sonys games and I call out Sony like I call out every company, but because its Sony in this case then I'm a fanboy (of xbox because that's the only way).

People who always complains about Nintendo are actually jealous that people could have fun with their own shit and they can't, feeling miserable all the time chasing old man's cloud. Graphics this, framerate that. Kiddies games etc. Bunch of graphics whores mostly only pirating shit they apparently can't afford.
