CoroCoro Pokemon Info: New Zygarde Forms, New Anime (XY & Z)

With the TV show?

They still created these forms as they're to be in the next games. The anime doesn't get unique things like this.

The show only adds stuff that Game Freak and The Pokémon Company give them.

Edit: Oh, just read the previous posts. My bad.

A dog Zygarde form?

Ok... The brain I can handle hahaha

Extra Greninja is totally awesome.

Pokémon Z officially confirmed, right?

I remember a Npc in a pokemon center in XY hinting at human/pokemon fusions, sadly I don't have the game with me and can't check.

Could Ash Greninja be the beginning of something like that? Not sure how I feel about that.

Pokemon/Human forms is fine for the anime (I don't watch it) but I really hope that doesn't make its way into the games. Not a fan of the final form at all but Doggie-Zygarde is pretty cool.

I highly doubt that's what it is

Transformations in Pokémon do have a precedent since the first generation with Bill. And fusion between two pokemon has been done before. I don't think it's that much of a stretch that it could extend between Pokemon and Human.

Though I'm really curious how it'll unfold in the anime if that's the case. And how the games do it mechanically.

So hopes for another main 3ds game are still valid?
What made you think otherwise? Even if the NX Handheld is out next year, Game Freak takes forever to adopt new hardware. The next mainline Pokémon game was always gonna be on the 3DS. The difference here is that an entirely new generation won't be locked to old hardware.

I mostly like the Zygarde forms, although the dog one looks a little bit weird to me :s I'm not sure why, but it just looks sort of off (I like the mythology behind all of Zygardes forms though).

I hope you're ready for Serena Delphox and Clemont Chesnaught.

Oh god, I can picture the Serena Delphox getting a hat and the Clemont Chesnaught getting glasses. :O

Gee Ash, how come GameFreaks let you have TWO dragon types on your team?

it's to let everyone know that almost anybody is a better dragon master than Iris is duh

depending on how far the anime gets along before & Z starts, they might sideline the 8th gym and get through all this before hand

Speaking of that new Greninja form...

Dunno if that's any significance.

why did we jump straight to "human-pokemon fusions" with that greninja image when we've had cosmetic variants before?

The previous forms of Satoshi's Froakie/Frogardier didn't look any different from the generic designs. So, it's kind of odd that his final form suddenly looks different.

It's most likely a form change or mega evolution of some kind and due to being called "Satoshi Gekkouga" people started speculating that Satoshi is involved there directly, not just as the owner of the Pokemon. Still, I wouldn't look too much into names given by the anime for unrevealed forms. Let's not forget Mega Mewtwo Y, which was called "Awakening form" by the anime before the official reveal of Mega Evolutions.

Wasn't there an interview to suggest that ORAS only started development after XY, which would mean that it was literally made in a year? If that's true, I guess it's the same for Z, but it's still up in the air when the game will release next year. For example, Platinum released in September (2008) like usual but BW2 came out in June (2012).

The good thing is that Kalos as it is now was finished by 2013, compared, to ORAS where they had to recreate Hoenn in 3D, so there'll be more time to add, change and fix things. On top of that, if ORAS was made in a year, Z is already confirmed to be in development for longer. Game Freak obviously planned for it since XY as Zygarde is weaker than Xerneas/Yveltal and has two unused moves.

I really hope they go balls out with new content. ORAS was lacking in the content department, but third versions (and B&W2) are the one thing they've consistently been able to knock out of the park since Gen 1.

It was confirmed that OR/AS started development on November 21st, 2012 so early development was already underway when X/Y were revealed in January 2013.

I wouldn't be surprised if Mega Blaziken was intended to debut in OR/AS but was included as an event bonus for X/Y.

Something pretty interesting I found is that Shigeki Morimoto, the battle director for pretty much every main series game was not in the credits for ORAS at all. I also just checked and he also wasn't listed in the credits for Tembo. He also directed Emerald and HGSS so he might be the director of Z.

I guess making Hoenn took longer than I thought. Hopefully with Kalos already made, that won't be much of a problem here.

The perfect Zygarde looks a lot better in the movie poster than that art beside it. The colours in the mouth on its chest uses Xerneas' horn colours too, which is cool.

We all know Ash greninja will be the one to look until Charizard returns just in time for the tournament. And Pikachu+Charizard carry the entire competition until Top 8/4 when some bullcrap trainer appears and beats Ash.

It's a fact that in the anime Charizard and Pikachu >>>>>> The other pokemon's Ash has.

I'd love to see Morimoto direct another game, and I was a bit disappointed when we found out he wasn't directing OR/AS.

I actually didn't know that Morimoto wasn't credited in OR/AS. I guess he could be preoccupied with another project, but he was still battle director for FR/LG when Emerald was released later that year. Likewise, he was the battle director for Platinum a year before HG/SS released.

I hope he returns for Z. I was so disappointed when I found out he wasn't directing ORAS.

I'm guessing 10% will have high Atk and Speed but will be quite frail. The Perfect forme will be on the level of the Fusion Kyurems. The cell forme will probably be weird like phione (a legendary that doesn't seem like one because you can hatch or catch multiple in a single game). If core is a separate Pokemon it might be a Psychic type disembodied brain.
