TIL Dr Ooz is on Trump's health, fitness and nutrition position and he's a regular on FOX News. Never pegged the guy as a conservative/Republican or whatever. He's a Sufu muslim and they've always interested me. They do that cool spinning around wearing tall hats iirc.

Also, stay safe motorists up and down the length of the country. The general public (with the exception of one or two people in about a hundred) do not give a rat's ass about their car, as long as it runs. They know fuck all about how it works and how they should keep it safely maintained in good working order.
Any good easy for beginners to understand online resources you'd recommend for newbies to learn more about basic car knowledge and maintenance and troubleshooting?

He did not call it a hoax. Watch the video. He was saying the democrats were politicizing Corona virus and treating it like the 'new hoax' like Ukraine or Russia. It is exceedingly clear he was saying Democrats were treating it like a hoax, not that it is a hoax.
Cringey moment alert: ??? You are contradicting yourself with the article you quoted ???

Trump referred to “politicizing” of the coronavirus by Democrats as “their new hoax.” He did not refer to the coronavirus itself as a hoax.

They claim 80,000 US deaths and 2,300 dying a day by April. That's next week. They're smoking crack.
I think they mean the USA will be overwhelmed by early April, and end up with 80k deaths. That is how I read that poorly parsed sentence anyway.

Trump's task force as well is exposing me to some really interesting figures. Fauci especially. We got some badassery out there working on this.

Fair enough, not all 81k are going to a hospital and using up resources. But neither are they all getting sent home, either. Testing stations and do-it-yourself swabs have only recently been made available. For the majority of the outbreak (and I'm stretching back to the original reports back in November) tests were taken at the doctor.
I do wonder how many of those tests are multiple on the same person. I can't imagine it's zero. So you get tested today, negative, but you are pretty sure you were exposed, do you come back next week and maybe test positive? Or test negative again? I don't know. Some people are probably one and done with a test, but anyone could catch it whenever.. heck someone could contract it as they LEAVE the testing center.

My best friend must be going crazy right now.

He's used to going out to casinos literally every other day to gamble, which is partially how he makes his income.

I just texted him to see how he's doing. I suggested he buys an Xbox 360 online for cheap and I'd throw in an extra controller and a few games he could keep.
Aren't there A LOT of online casinos?

I dunno.

He does one of those but he's a "professional" gambler and I don't think he particularly likes those.

Plus he goes out for the sake of going out and the comped booze he gets while playing.

He gets treated pretty well but then again he also treats the employees very well. If he hits something like 5k, he'll tip the bartender $250 and the slot tech another $250 for example. Last time he hit big, he gave like $700 to the bartender as a tip.

So.. just imagine you want to take over the world. Nukes won't cut it. They lack deniability and people have defences against them, and of course they'll nuke you back. So how about biological warfare. You've got a virus. Now the thing is you want it to only take out your enemies rather than yourself. How would you go about engineering that? It's tricky. You'd need to have it target particular races. Now China is ethnically pretty homogenous, moreso than any of the other major players, so it can just go with "everything but Han Chinese please" - maybe a milder impact on their own and a harsher impact on the rest. Alternatively, they may wish to keep Africa running as they have been working on turning Africa into cheap labour for their middle classes to exploit so maybe just white people.

Thing is, even if it doesn't kill us off, just keep releasing in steady streams and it'll debilitate us so much through effort in fighting it, it'll put so much friction in the economy as to kill it. It's similar to the cyberwarfare carried out by Russia and China. Sure they'd like some secrets if they can get them but the constant swarming of any server that goes online isn't just about what they can get, it's about making the effort of securing stuff so onerous as to make Western businesses uncompetitive due to the extra friction. So we in the West will have to put enormous effort into keeping people healthy, and eventually our economies get crunched into oblivion.

In short, nuke China.

UK update 11658 (+2129) which equates to a 22% rise with 5178 new tests carried out with a 41% detection rate, which is a significant increase. I fully expect we'll hit over 14K cases tomorrow, maybe 21k by Monday. Given the lockdown and push for social distancing over the last week we might start to see a decline, but it might be a while yet given the long incubation period.

I don't believe China's numbers but holy fucking shit US, you guys truly always have to be the best. Welp congrats I hope your health car system holds up.
I mean it's all about percentages.. Italy has something like 0.13% of their population with the 'rona, USA is still only like 0.025% or something tiny. We'll get there, give us time! We're growers not show-ers!

I've noticed that this whole ordeal has brought out the WORST in people, with only a handful of exceptions, all of which are people in this forum who have been awesome.

Seriously besides that everyone else has been a complete, uncaring POS jackass and really justifies my hatred of people in general.

Edit: this is at least in my day-to-day experience.

So the 500000 people who volunteered to help the NHS, the thousands of doctors and nurses who came out of retirement and the rapidly organised community groups delivering supplies to the vulnerable don’t count as ducking awesome? I’d say this crisis has shown that we’re actually not so bad.

I remember seeing 9/11 changing the skyline when I was in high school, you had a good view of it from the Blvd...

this has far exceeded that and how insane it all is... you can’t believe anything really.

My bad. I should have in my experience generally.

There's definitely a lot of good people doing good things.

But there's also a lot more shitty and inconsiderate people.
