Crackdown 2 was worse.

Crackdown succeeded it open world FUN where most games failed. That's what made it so special. It didn't forget the game aspect along with the sandbox.

I think Crackdown succeeds in simple open-world traversal in a way that not even Saint's Row 4 did as well. Saint's Row 4 gave you too much power, but Crackdown 1 and 2 has just the right amount of freedom and restrictions.

They were excellent orb hunting games. There was some other bullshit going on there as well, but nobody cared about that.

I think Crackdown succeeds in simple open-world traversal in a way that not even Saint's Row 4 did as well. Saint's Row 4 gave you too much power, but Crackdown 1 and 2 has just the right amount of freedom and restrictions.

They were excellent orb hunting games. There was some other bullshit going on there as well, but nobody cared about that.

It never made you feel too powerful even at max level on your orbs.

IIRC all orbs where pointed in the in-game map. Or maybe that was the second one. Of course it was still hard to find some since the map was flat and the orbs were placed at different heights.
