Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy: "Hang Eight" Gameplay

The only thing I BEG Vicarious Visions to update are the Wumpa Bounce boxes in Crash 1+2 from only giving one fruit per bounce to three fruit per bounce like in Warped. I've always hated freezing the flow of the game to bounce 10 times for the 10 fruit they contain, even back in the day. The Warped change was great, and feels like one of those retroactive tweaks to 1 and 2 that would be greatly welcomed.
 
i don't think it's going to sell well at all, it was basic even back then but by todays standards i think people will be put off, but i'd love to be wrong.

i find the graphics so weird though. it's like those 90's/00's pre-rendered commercials. it's so freakishly clean and 90's CGi looking.

VR mode would instantly sell this to me though.

Yep. That must be why Crash Bandicoot constantly tops the top download list on psn month after month.

This is exactly why I love the graphics, late 90's game CG was what people thought games would eventually get to in the next gen, never really happened as designs went more realistic
 
Looks beautiful.

Their attention to detail surprises me. The movement seems spot on.

Thought I was happy just to stick with the originals but I'm curious to try this out.
 
and how easy is it to top those charts every month? a million? 20 thousand? would a couple hundred sales do it?...5?

i'm imagining it's the lower end of that given the meager PSone offerings on PSN and the likelihood a lot of people even continue to buy PSone games in 2017... but maybe i'm wrong. i just don't see this lighting the charts on fire...hell, i doubt it'll even chart at all. this won't be a success the same way ratchet and clank was, it barely even gains traction on gaf.

LOL using GAF as metric for success.
 
This looks really bad. It's like Mario or sonic without cool abilities or speed, and the most uninspired lounge music I've ever heard.
 
Gonna put my neck on the line here, I reckon this game will do some serious numbers.

From a purely anecdotal point of view, whether it's just nostalgia or not, this remake is making waves in places I absolutely did not anticipate seeing it do so. I genuinely believe this is going to be a big surprise success.

Yes, now let's get a Crash/Pizza Hut commercial again! Maybe a reimagining of the Crash commercial where he's outside Nintendo but he could be outside Microsoft this time. :D
 
It looks incredible. The music is on point, too. So excited! Crash 2 was always my favorite, and this is one of the levels that really stuck with me.
 
I'm surprised at how faithful it seems to be gameplay wise. It looks like it will play exactly the same as Crash 2, which is understandable since that game is one of the best platformers ever even today.

Not feeling the graphics though. Something is off. It's lacking the charm of the original, it needs to be more cartoony,

The game is getting a consistently large number of views on facebook videos.

The game is gonna sell well imo. Can't wait for it.

Followed by what looks like deliberately killing themself after getting the diamond.

It's the fastest way to 100% that level. Killing yourself after getting the race gem in order to go back to tart for the box gem is slightly faster than beating the level and reentering it. Of course the guy in the video didn't have the blue gem so it didn't matter.
 
The death after grabbing the gem, ahaha. Love that the first footage of this comes from a player who clearly played the original to death. That's a legit speedrun tactic.

i mean fucks sake, the upload of this on PS's FB is already up to almost 500K and it's just a gameplay video lol
 
Ok, so glad that was a speed run at first. I literally cringed everytime they ran past a checkpoint, crystal, or bonus round....whew!

As a hardcore PS1er, Its still crazy trying process the graphics. Looks great!

This is one of the few games I've seen people I know that are not into games talk about on facebook.
 
The color of the boxes are all wrong.

Nice! Glad to see more extended Crash 2 footage. Random nitpicks: not a fan of the crate breaking sound when on the jet ski (I know much of the original audio was unusable), and the giant flytrap plants don't look as menacing. That said, those are just nitpicks; still so happy this is actually coming!
 
Graphically it looks nice, although the clean art-style is a little jarring.

Gameplay looks exactly like I remember, which makes me happy
 
Looking pretty good overall, but yikes, I hope they're not done with the warping-in animation.

Yeah, there are bizarre decisions with the animation and character model. Sometimes he looks great (results screen/cutscene crash). Other times he looks like an uprezzed Wrath of Cortex model. I'm starting to think they should have stuck with the Skylanders version inspired by the original drawings, versus trying to match 1:1 the original character model that only had 532 triangles. Sometimes simply upping the geometry doesn't help.

Either way, not a huge deal. I'm sure they'll be tweaking and plussing things till the very end, and I'm happy to be getting this at all. I seriously crave to play this remake almost everyday.
 
Not feeling it, wish they had an HD original asset mode and really hope they will give an option to original music/sounds. Not liking what they have in place.

Art style and look just feels way too off for me. Seems like they messed this one up as far as what I would want.

Crash should look more or less the same with a bit of a bump in poly count. Enemies and crash should have a flat basic texture style to them and would look amazingly better.

Artististically the original looks better, better color range and art etc Even the electricity in the warp has a better feel.
