Is amazing. The acoustic version of the theme is the best game theme in years. It was played during one of the earlier trailers. Since then I've been more hyped about getting the soundtrack than the game. Finally received my copy, and it is indeed awesome.

What? I don't agree with bringing up that game in this thread but why isn't there a chance?

Man, it must be the weekend bringing out the stupid in these posts.

Lost Odyssey's ost might be better, but its not out yet, so it doesn't void my original post.

Woot, didn't realize this was out. Is it a ban to post where you might find a copy besides playasia?

uh oh, I feel a haiku coming on

game soundtracks...
mp3s or expensive cds?
net is a wonderful place

Clearly it is a translated haiku and therefore not bound to the 575.

Track 11, Wandering on a Sunny Afternoon AKA Tseng's Theme is one of the best on the Crisis Core OST.

The music is pretty nice, but I wouldn't say that. Bioshock's themes, though not used a lot, are better, for one.

Damn the Crisis core soudtrack makes me want to cry....... "A flower blooming in the slums (aerith's theme) is so touching.

Theme of Crisis Core "under the apple tree", i love this theme. It fits Zack's tragic life well.

Yea. Almost all the tracks with guitar in them are really good. The composer is doing the soundtrack to FFXIII Agito :D

Yup. That track was really tailored for him.

Does it have new versions of FF VII tunes ?
Yes. The Staff Roll track contains almost 9 minutes of new orchestrated versions of:

-Theme of FFVII
-Theme of Shinra Company
-Those Who Fight (random battle theme)
-Aeris Theme

Plus throughout the game there are new versions of:

-FFVII Opening Theme ~ Bombing Mission
-Those Who Fight (random battle theme)
-Those Who Fight Further (boss theme)
-Turks Theme
-Aeris Theme
-Anxious Heart (Tifa's Theme)
-One Winged Angel

There are I think 3 tracks from the OVA Last Order FFVII.

I wasn't too impressed, really, especially with the new stuff. The classic FFVII battle theme remixes really sucked. Well, except for one, and no, not One-Winged Angel.

Still, it often takes me more than one listen to really 'get' a soundtrack, so I'm not ready to write it off just yet.

Yes. It's the best soundtrack this year bar none.

I'm almost willing to say it's the best soundtrack an FF game has ever had...

I won't say it is the best, but it is damn up there.

From what I've heard, it's pretty good. Not the best soundtrack this year though, and ridiculously far from the title of "best FF soundtrack ever." But whatever, wooo wooo, crank up the hyperbole machine.

well, he is composing for a 360 (exclusive) game; so Im not surprised at his comment.

Totally man, because it's not like I hadn't said the guy was overrated way before he was involved with anything 360 related.

What? :lol Yeah, because every 16-bit programmer that Square let's compose for them now to work on PlayStation FF games are automatically better than Uematsu. :lol FFS, he's only done about 3-4 OSTs and you've probably only listened to 2 of them at most... if that.

Haha, what? The venerable Nobuo Uematsu has handled more than 3 or 4 game soundtracks!

I was talking about Ishimoto, a synthesizer programmer that's been composing for S-E for a little while now.

Gotcha. From what you were quoting, it seemed like you were talking about Uematsu. That said, by my count, he's worked on over a dozen albums for SE, and I believe he has composer credits for seven of them!

Really? I'm only aware of Takeharu Ishimoto serving as composer on Crisis Core, Before Crisis (I think -- not positive), It's a Wonderful World, and Dissidia. Two of those just came out this year, and the fourth isn't even out yet.

He did synthesizer work on Kingdom Hearts II, Vagrant Story (for which he remixed one of Sakimoto's songs), Legend of Mana, and Chain of Memories... but regardless, his resume as a composer is still pretty thin, and most people have only heard, at most, two soundtracks done by the guy.

Yeah, this sounds spot-on. Good to hear he's doing Dissidia; didn't know this.
