Yeah sounds like a vacuum cleaner. Pretty bad. My old PS4 could get loud at times, but never for too long.

Sorry for the users who faced these issues, I've been nothing but happy with my Pro, haven't encountered a single issue like this, playing deus ex the thing is *literally* whisper quiet. I'm at work right now, but will take a video of it and post it here when I get back home.

My Pro does sometimes huff and puff at odd moments like when a game is paused but generally is pretty quiet. Far better then my old PS3, especially the Blu Ray player.

Ask me about the moon landing or the temperature at which jet fuel burns. You may be surprised at what you learn.

My PS4 Pro is much quieter than the OG PS4 I had.

I suspect it's the issue with that particular unit. I have been playing FFXV at high and low IQ modes and haven't heard he fans much.

Same, this video is just pointing out that there's some serious QC issues going on with this system.

Get your shit together, Sony.
There are millions of these things out there. I think it's a bit unfair to conclude there are "serious issues" with the console based on a handful of YouTube videos with seemingly different problems.

Mine gets noticeably louder in some games but it is never as loud as the OG was (and even the OG was quieter than the one on the clip). I did not try Mafia III though.

The only problem I have with the Pro is that the breakout box used with the PSVR does not turn off when the console goes to rest (and it did with the OG).

Good thing I never buy electrical products at launch. Though I know a few people who own PS4 Pro and none of them got issues like these, at launch there's bound to be a few faulty ones out there within the rest for anything

I remember the flashing blue light of death on launch PS4's causing a ruckus around on some people's machines, but it was generally like below 1 percent of launch units and i haven't seen it since.

For those saying there units are whisper quiet either OG or Pro

Go and sit in the menu in modern warfare remastered and you will get the exact same jet taking off wind speed.

Also some did have serious issues lol

Why does this have a dedicated thread? It's clearly a defective unit.

People are playing this up like it's a big deal. If it's loud, get it swapped until you get one that sounds like most other people's. Quiet.

Edit: Just seen this is a compilation of videos. Get it friggin swapped people, instead of trying to create a whole load of drama over an issue that happens with most product launches. You get defective batches.

Or sit in an uncharted 4 lobby.

Strange how it seems like peoples pros are either jet engines or whisper quiet. Damn this age of hyperbole.

I feel like "whisper quiet" is the larger piece of the hyperbole pie here.

I've come into contact with many PS4s in my time (a large number, I've been to local fighting game tournaments and such quite a bit, plus family and friends) and not one of them has been close to "whisper quiet."

I really, really have a hard time believing it when people say theirs is whisper quiet. I think it's just that those people are just willing to accept a higher noise level than others.

The same thing would happen on OG PS4s when menu framerates were left uncapped. I believe Rocket League had this problem.

i play my Pro for hours at a time. I'm playing it right now and it's quiet as hell. The fan ramps up at times, but it's never terrible.

It's not just 1 video. It's a compilation of different people posting videos of PS4 Pro problems (loud, buttons not working, etc).

He's clearly ended up with a faulty machine, he should just replace it.

That's likely due to the menu having a unlimited FPS unlock not locked which causes GPU stress can happen on PC too

Personally my experience with the pro when it comes to my tv (Samsung KS8500) ive had no issues at all. As for the fan, it is ALWAYS silent on anything NOT pro enhanced. Games that are pro enhanced do make the fan get kind of loud, definitely noticable but for a short time. Played Resident Evil Demo and it was quiet the whole time except for about a 90 second fan spin up just at a random time then it went back to basically quiet. Oddly enough it got loud AS SOON AS the destiny update completed. FFXV gets the fan to go up some but not bad. TLOU remastered has done the same. BUT, as stated before, none of the games that are not yet pro enhanced (Bloodborne, Dark Souls 3, etc) which used to make even my 1200 model spin up a little make zero difference on the pro
