Thanks for updating the index! It seems some are missing though; I am not seeing any RE5 links. Have you went through all of the pages again?

I got past the Ni No Kuni a little, going to finish tomorrow during the Bills game.

Hi, for those who ask me about printing those great covers, I created a little tutorial:

Introduction:

I use my regular home printer on a regular A4 paper.
And they turn out pretty good. (And it's really cheap !)

Necessary Tools:

1) Simple A4 paper.
2) Sufficient amount of ink.
3) A utility knife.
4) A long Ruler.
5) Photoshop.

The process:

1) Drag the covers into this PSD file:
PSD FILE
2) Then hit Enter.
3) Put the new layer on top.
4) Resize it (Ctrl+T) a bit to fit the Template.
5) Hit Enter again.
6) Go to: File -> Print.
7) Then Choose landscape mode. (Check center image and bounding box, make sure "scale to fit media" is unchecked).
8) Then hit "printer settings", make sure it's set on landscape mode, And change "Paper Size" to A4.
9) Once you printed the cover, crop the white borders of the page with a ruler and a utility knife.
10) Now, once you try to fit it in the case you'll see it doesn't enter.

DON'T BE ALARMED.

Just fold the case outwards, and Simultaneously pinch the printed cover inside. Don't worry ! It won't damage the printed cover. After the first try it will be pretty much straight forward.

Good luck.

Theman you printed on Laser or Inkjet?

List of paper for people, also don't get too thick

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_s...hoto+paper+8.5+x+11&x=0&y=0&sprefix=glossy+ph

Make sure to get semi glossy or glossy imo..

Specswise 40lb-48lb is around what's used on retail game covers, make sure to get laser or inkjet depending on what you have guys.

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000EZTYHG/?tag=neogaf0e-20 this looks good but I can't read all the specs on the front cover I might end up ordering this for my Canon Pixma inkjet printer. Judging by the reviews the paper isn't as thick as regular photo paper either so it seems perfect. I just ordered it, I'll let you guys know how the covers come out.

My printer is a Canon PIXMA MX882

Settings were

Regular paper top, KODAK paper bot for my unfinished FM 4 cover.

fuckyeah1he7l.png

THIS SHIT IS LEGIT GUYS, TRUST ME! I am ANAL about shit and this shit is totally LEGIT. I am going to have to buy a lot of fucking ink now thanks to you guys. I will be laminating alot of these fucking covers for games that I don't own.

/nerdgasm.

I can't BELIEVE the quality man... If you guys see it in person you would be impressed, 50 pages for under $10 is NUTS for that paper. I had a feeling the paper would be perfect for this shit, I am just shocked at the quality.

I am going NUTS Now... Just the thought of having alternate SUPERIOR covers now is making me go crazy over the retail stuff that's usually worse. OMFG.

HYPE HYPE HYPE! I didn't even click VIVID. OH MY GAWD THE COFFEE IS FLOWING THROUGH MY VEINS NOW.

-edit NOTE

There is NO fragments/smudgedness/blurry colors on the bottom print out, it's a digital photo issue, this thing looks LIKE a retail cover in terms of print quality! It's as crisp as the camera flashed area of the picture and not the dark areas that looks a bit saturated/smudged/fragmented/dirty.

How much did that cost you? And is this printer giving you better-quality paper than what you'd normally get from a commercial printer such as those found in a Staples?

I'm not sure about the quality compared to a commercial printer but this printer only cost me $150ish or so. For what it is I tell you that I can't tell the difference between a retail cover and the ones I've printed. I'm just surprised at how great this has turned out.

I needed a printer for papers/text/current workout routine/documents etc...

I printed a PS3 DS cover and the PC skyrim cover, shit looks amazing.

With the wrong paper it looked like shit, this time I won though. The printer itself is over 4 1/2+ stars on amazon, which is rare and it has a TON of reviews.

That paper is amazing for dvd case covers and the printer works flawless with it.

I am hooked on this now and definitely want to make some proper covers myself.

You can't go wrong with printing this at a store but if you want convenience this is a hell of an option.

Anyone has a standard "The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword" PAL EU cover with just the PEGI logo on it? It seems that in most of Europe Nintendo just printed a version with BOTH the USK (for Germany) and PEGI logo on the cover... Terrible.

So basically, you get this version but right next to the big green USK logo you still have the small PEGI logo (removed with bad photoshoping skills by amazon.de as you can see if you enlarge).
http://www.amazon.de/dp/B0052C1J3S/

Would be much appreciated.

Damn. I think I give up for now. I've tried printing 4 times and it always crops off the last part of the cover.

Only thing I can think of is that my scale is off somehow. I'd think using the template would resolve that issue, but it's all I got.

To anyone successfully printing your own, can you please tell me what your height and width is on the print screen (mine shows 27.29 by 14.87cm....I did a quick search online and someone said it should be 27.2x14.9). Also the "print resolution: xx dpi"?

Well this, kind of (it has provisional written under the PEGI logo; I'm not sure if that is better or worse). I've also found it at slightly higher resolution (2,126 x 2,835).

I whipped up a bunch for myself and thought I would share them. Hope you guys like em, this is the first time I've ever really messed around with any sort of picture editing software. I think they turned out pretty good.

The Mortal Kombat one is an edit of RedSwirl's design. I'm a big fan of the wrap around covers so I changed it up to suit my tastes. I couldn't really come up with anything good to put on the back but I kind of like the simplicity of it.

I think some of the contributors are editing their posts to add more stuff. You shouldn't do that; just create a new post, or else TC might not include what was added by edit to the OP.

I remember someone saying they'd be doing a special all Halo game covers when anniversary came out.

My heart is now broken =(

How did you do the design? It's really great. I mean, it's a bit too logo-less for my personal liking, especially when shelved, but the actual work on it is very very good.

I actually did most of the design as pixel art, blew it up full size, and added a rounded stroke to the edges for a less sharp look. Do you mean lack of logo on the spine?
I was thinking about putting something there, but I wasn't sure. I think I'll try some stuff out.

Thanks to everybody for the feedback!

Hey guys. Been trying to print my own - about 8 attempts. All fail in that the image goes off the edge of the paper so it's barely incomplete.

{images removed} - problem solved

Anyone able to see anything in my settings that I'm doing wrong? I've gone over it myself so many times, but I have to be missing something. Help a guy out =\

That looks like photoshop. Try saving the image file as a PDF and printing over in Adobe Reader. When you goto print make sure you select "fit to printable area". That'll get you a print without any running off the edge but the final product might be a touch smaller, but I'm not sure if the difference will be noticeable.

Hrm, this did resolve the issue of the entire image not being printed. On the other hand, it printed too large in the height dimension. it stuck out of the plastic by about 1/2cm or more. At least that's progress though.

Hmm that sounds more like a problem with the original dimensions of the image than anything you're doing. Do you have a scanner? One surefire way to get this to work is to scan the original cover you are replacing and scaling the new one to fit it exactly. Then, just print that out (with the exact dimensions if you can) and it should be good to go.

Internet went down here for a bit, but after scanning in a cover, making my own template with those dimensions in photoshop - and still exporting to PDF (failed when test printing from within photoshop still)....IT WORKED!

Thank you, Sir.

One cover down. Many to go. Sadly, I'm about out of paper so I'll have to go to the store for more to finish them all off.

Looking to expand on the custom blu-ray covers list. Does anyone have a good template, similar to the ones here, or does anyone have the proper dimensions used for blu covers? I'd also like a 3D template to display them.

I suppose no-one has any high quality art for the Japanese release of Animal Resort? I'm planning to pick up the PAL release, but Ubisoft (or whoever responsible) changed the cover that was just fine into these generic smiling animals. The polar bear and giraffe are especially offensive and unfortunately the giraffe is peaking at you on the backside aswell.

Amazon Japan has the cover 1534x1357 if that helps

Man, once I got started I realized I have to print customs for them all do they look uniform. I need to print like 6 more now.

The first 8 that I printed I was using Canon semi-gloss paper. Looked good, but the paper a little thicker than is optimal. I bought some of the HP everyday photo paper which is way better, even if the other worked fine.

I dont know if im allowed to do requests.

The UK Uncharted Double pack looks horrendous, does anyone know if there is an alternate cover out there, or would someone be really kind and make one.
