Cant watch ATM. Anything new or is it just the E3 area again?

EDIT NVM working now.

EDIT 2 OMG They finally fixed the player movement. That had been bugging me forever. :D

Pretty. I wish the game was coming out on the new consoles at launch.
Thankfully the PC version is out day one, though.

Kinda disappointed to see the guy blow through the area without a sweat, and not because he was some expert player. I know its probably an early area, but the enemy attacks do pretty meagre damage for a Souls game.

PC version wont be out day 1, unfortunately. Sometime shortly after console release.

Nothing to worry about if what I played at GC was any indication. It's as hard as ever.

Hope so. I just don't know why they'd show off this demo constantly, when it looks easy as hell.

Public demos don't really tune well with this kind of stuff. You want the people to actually get to the end of it, since no one would try again when dying. I still remember queueing for Demon's Souls back in the day. Japan press would pick up the pad, die in 10 seconds, and leave politely their place in the queue to the next one having seen next to nothing. With this in mind, wouldn't be surprised if this section it was somehow altered in difficulty (or giving players powerful items) for pratical purpouses.

Source on that? Last I heard it was day 1.

Dark Souls 2 is scheduling your death for March 11, 2014 in North America, March 14 in Europe, and March 13 in Japan. Those dates apply to PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, while PC players must wait until "shortly thereafter," according to Namco Bandai. A spokesperson told us the extra time will allow the game to "fully capture all the necessary specs" for the PC audience.

Why isn't this thread bigger? Downloading now... 12 more minutes to go.

At least they are clearly releasing 1080p PC screenshots as marketing material this time around! They even seem to be downsampled.

It's also very clear that (at least on PC) the game natively implements VSSAO this time around (one of the AO types supported in DSfix):

Durante, if DkS2 on PC looks like shit, will you fix it as well?

The lighting effects look damn stunning.

Lighting is such a big improvement over the first game, texture quality and particles also look better plus the frame-rate at least in this video was pretty smooth.

Namco helping From on the tech side of things really shows and it's definitely great news to see the game looks and run this good on the current gen consoles. :)

I don't see why it would. It seems like it will look almost exactly like Dark Souls with DSfix.

Probably without the built-in downsampling. I could add that I guess. If people want.

Is it your exact same solution? Wonder if they are using your fix

Yes please, so hard to down sampling with AMD cards, your fix is amazing

It's the same algorithm. It's used in many games. They're surely not using my exact code, but I like to think that they noticed it fit the game well and therefore implemented it in DS2!

There's some form of AO on the PS3 demo as well, it's visible at 7:34-7:45.

Of course people would want that :D

The Aching Bones trailer is AWESOME. Great music and it shows exactly what the Souls games are about - that you just cannot give up, ever. The only weak thing is the motto/ sentence they used there "Go. Beyond. Death." - I would change it to something like "Never. Give. Up." but it's a matter of taste.

Imagine FROM mentioning you in the credits :lol

It is impossible to stay on media blackout for this game, the temptation is too great. This is probably the only game I will ever double dip on if it comes to ps4.

Just saw the entire thing... wow, this looks like a next-gen title. Dat lighting!

You can see here how the health bar's capacity is decreased from the maximum. You can also see how ugly you get in the process. Being hollow in the original was sometimes pretty cool (I mean that aesthetically it had it's moments), but it looks like you really go full zombie here. Lol, the way hair thins out is going to annoy a lot of people I can tell.

The Gamersyde footage is great because it's a real playthrough. Can't wait, and I have absolute faih in From to make DSII the best DS. Believe!

Man I can already see the speedruns w/o the torch in hand total darkness.
I wonder if it's gonna be pitch black, or if you'll still be able to see a little...
