We should really do something nice for Durante. Does he have an Amazon Wish List or a tip jar or something?

I preo-ordered the game. When I saw this thread, I was disappointed, but not angry. I never played the original game so I wasn't looking for a graphical update. I just wanted to try the game for the first time.

Now that I saw how quickly Durante fixed the issue though, I am a little pissed. Really? That's all the time and effort it took? And the devs didn't do that because....?
Other priorities?

Or a different Dev team had to go through an really really ugly code.

We dont know. So we dont judge.

I remember he had a Paypal on his dsfix page. But I'll be in for a collective gift from us to him if we could arrange that. A Titan for a titan?! hehehehe

"Yeah, where is your chest, lady."

In any case: Japanese devs will hopefully this generation be on board with PC development to where their stuff doesn't use old/ancient libraries for their titles.

It would be rude not the mention that I just got a nice message from the Rising Star Games PR guy.

Can't really imagine at the moment how to actually work out something official though, I doubt they want to send me their game code to fix (would probably be a licensing nightmare, particularly if any third party stuff is involved -- which there almost always is).

Just played around with the alpha, it was easy to set up (just like the Dark Souls fix was) and I noticed the resolution improvement right off the bat

Thanks, that's actually the first indication I have that it works for anyone other than myself.
Anytime man, I'm going to actually play with the game when I get home from class tonight, so I'll let you know if anything happens or what not

Very cool. Maybe you can tell them how to fix the controller support :)

Getting joyGetPosEx in there is probably a sign of at least trying to get generic controllers to work, but I thought XInput was a specialised version of DirectInput!

Thank you so much. And I didn't know you lived in Innsbruck. I am from Salzburg but went to the University in Innsbruck. For DSfix I owe you a free bear (beverage of your choice). Make that two now. Next time I am in Innsbruck I am gladly paying.
They're selling bears in Innsbruck just like that?

"just the resolution fix"

wtf? Durante saved the entire world, and gave my life a purpose: Post "Durante pls" in every bad port thread.
Really, REALLY late but what I really meant to say was that he didn't do the FPS fix, just the IQ stuff of which resolution stuck out the most by far. Which is not only important but arguably THE most important part, but that we can't expect him to go swooping in on any game with a locked FPS.

Resolution though... yeah, we just saw what happened there, haha.

The resolution fix is working great for me 60fps all the time, including the Red Room that someone else was saying was a problem. Not sure if this has already been answered but is key binding in the actual game or is that part of the fix that hasn't been added yet?

Based Durante, oh ho ho it's magic!

Noticed the resolution immediately. I mean the game still looks like shit but at 1080p now :p Will play more soon and see if any issues crop up. I really wish they had 360 controller support working though, would rather play with that.

Wow fast again. Durante needs to be contracted out by these goofy devs. Durante's DS fix is what led me to discover Gaf for the very first time. The Legendarious Kazification February of 2013 is what made me stay.

There aren't any useful keybindings for end users yet -- it's just there because the whole option/keybinding stuff is lifted wholesale from DSFix ;)

Wtf why doesn't this have controller support? I thought seeing as it was a straight port it'd would be a stick on.

Oh yeah based Durante etc

Awesome, thanks again for all your work man, the game looks so much better now, wouldn't you agree, Zach?
