Free-to-play fighting platformer Deathverse: Let It Die will temporarily be suspending its services from July 18 onwards so that Supertrick Games can redevelop the game from the beginning to fix matchmaking and lag issues. The development team has announced the suspension of service in a blog post, reassuring players that it was the best decision the team could make.

The announcement also includes an apology for some issues that caused inconvenience to players, such as in-game matchmaking and lag that reduce the game-flow experience. After launching it just a few months ago, Supertrick Games had to make a tough decision to take Deathverse: Let It Die offline from July 18 onwards to redevelop the game. That will create extra time to address issues with its online infrastructure and put the game back on track. However, any return date for the game has not been revealed at the time of writing.

It was also announced that all sales of Death Metal will end as of February 7, as players will be able to use previously purchased in-game currency until the service is taken offline. Besides that, Supertrick Games will continue to release Season 2 content as planned, but new content for Season 3 will only be added partially.

From the highlights of the announcement, the team believes that re-releasing the game with significant improvements will help it reach a wider audience across multiple platforms. Supertrick and publisher GungHo Online Entertainment acknowledged the reason behind their decision with a brief comment:

"There is no doubt that we experienced some challenges since the launch of our game, particularly with regard to in-game matchmaking and lag. We deeply apologize for these issues that may have caused an inconvenience to our players. While we have tried various solutions to some degree of success, we have not been able to resolve the underlying problems. As a result, the development and operations teams have made the decision to temporarily suspend the game’s services while we redevelop Deathverse: Let It Die."
