Also is there no way to track digital sales? Some of these seem really low. It'd be nice to have some more accurate numbers.

3DS software dominating overall. hmm, So it is true that Japan has gone completely mobile.

Woah, just noticed that the top 9/10 is on a Nintendo console.

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
GTAV on the top 10 is surprising.

holy shit, what an attach rate, A console doing as embarrasingly bad as the WiiU somehow managed to get a million seller, this is impressive

for reference, isn't FFXIII the only PS3 game to sell over 1 million in Japan?

weird times we live in,

Looked for Atelier Escha and Logy and it's not there.

The series is falling hard. Gust cannot be happy with these developments. I not sure Japan likes the Dusk series much. The Vita port of Atelier Ayesha sold less than half of what Totori and Meruru did. And Totori Plus is the most barebones port of the lot with a framerate worse than the PS3 original.

I hope they do well over seas because they actually better than Arland Trilogy in overall quality.

Seeing DKCR 3D at 330k and knowing that DKC: TF will struggle to get to even 100k is quite disheartening.

ALBW will also do worse than OOT3D (though I'm not necessarily disheartened by that). FFX/X-2 HD did really well, as did SMTIV.

Finally, Luigi's Mansion 2 at over 1 million, yay!

There's always a chance of DKC:TF 4D for Nintendo new handheld which should be vastly more popular than its console counterpart.

A 90% drop in sales from previous installment is brutal, especially for a traditional game.

[WII] Donkey Kong Country Returns - 165.000 / 1.014.000
[WIU] Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze - 35.829 / 91.635

So Nintendo would've completely owned the top ten if not for GTAV...which was beaten by a WiiU game. LOLWTF

And the Wii U game was Wii Party U. Not even Super Mario 3D World!

Yeah I know it was bundled with the Wii U and comes with a free controller, but still.

And sadly numbers at #30 are incorrect. Should be 276,127.

Dengeki is the one incorrect.

Going by their weekly sales, it's 263,460. As of last week it reached 277,643. And they say it's 276,127 by March?

There's also the same confusion with Animal Crossing.

Maybe they'll correct numbers net week. I'll just wait and see. *shrugs*

isn't this proof that a substantial portion of that 90% didn't like DKCR?

dunno, I am looking for an explanation here, a whopping 900k people, at some point, went to a store, grabbed the box of Donkey Kong Country Returns for Wii and paid for it.

that's 900'000 people, that's a ridiculous amount of people who said "no, thanks" to the sequel. .

even if it's on new, more expensive hardware. that's a mindblowing amount of people who didn't feel compelled to buy a WiiU to play it. *shrugs

...or it could be that the Wii U has an install base that is 85% smaller than the Wii's. And you just said it yourself: It's on more expensive hardware that's also new and not a mobile product. People also aren't rushing out to buy a PS4 in Japan either.

Puyo Puyo Tetris sold 91 K - wow
Little Battlers eXperience Wars passed 100K - achievement unlocked
Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai 2 over 200K - yay
Attack on Titan 3DS over 260K - wow. imagine how it would have performed if no shortage.
Battle for Money over 309K - not performing as strong as the 1st but still good numbers regardless.
Mario & Luigi: Dream Team over 411K - on par with first and second game despite underwhelmed start.

Top 14 titles are 3DS or Wii U games, and Nintendo as a company is still struggling mightily. That's the most amazing thing I took from these numbers.

Oops: I missed GTA5. Okay, 13 out of the top 14... ;P

To be fair, Nintendo would have been at a net profit in the last FY and practically halved their operating loss if it wasn't for the one-time injection into R&D and marketing. But that's a discussion for another time.

Nintendo dominating, handhelds over consoles, 5 non-Japanese games in the top 100.

Japan really is an island.

Wonder if it's an overall market shft, cause Ar no Surge bombed like fuck.

Also reminder that this was what Sega as expecting for Puyo Tetris
[3DS] Puyo Puyo Tetris - 200k
[PS3] Puyo Puyo Tetris - 150k
[PSV] Puyo Puyo Tetris - 30k
[WIU] Puyo Puyo Tetris - 20k

so it turns out FFX HD outselling LR was false information.

EDIT : After Adding PS3 + Vita numbers,I it does outsell LR at 531,908 units.Previous number added up the two platforms.

People can do this manipulation: remove the "unfair" Wii Party U and NSMB U from this chart, up all the games which are still there and then look at who's in the top 10 now...

"lol, another Mario bitches"

It would'nt change that much the overall picture.

Wasn't false information, the numbers released at that time indicated it was a sum of PS3+PSV copies. According to this chart, it's unlikely that even with 360 sales LR total sales tops the FF10 PS3V combo.

I'm surprised FF10 HD did as well as it did really.

oh wow.I just added the PS3 and Vita numbers. Its 531,908 units damn.

I forgot that the previous numbers included Vita and didn't read the list properly. So its actually doing really well.

I wouldn't say it's unfair, as NSMBU and partially Wii Party U are the main selling points of that bundle.

Youkai Watch sold that well? Now there's very few reasons why Level-5 shouldn't bring it over
along with Fantasy Life
