I remember when EA released ME3 the same time they released the trilogy bundle on Xbone and PS4. That was really awful. /:Its not a negative thing same way remasters and remakes aren't. but it is a bit of a crummy way for third party to "support" a system by porting their old games all the while releasing new ones on the competing systems. Just feels like lip service really.

Oh whoops. Yeah, ps3/360.PS4/XB1 never got the Mass Effect trilogy
I take it that Arms, Splatoon 2, Super Mario Odyssey, Fire Emblem Warriors 2 and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 are Wii U ports then?Eh, I guess it's a good thing for some people.
Makes me very uninterested in buying a Switch if that's all they've got. These are good games, but I have them already and the performance is basically the same.
What I realize now is there are a lot of bandwagon Nintendo fans. It you didn't want to play the game 2 years ago, I don't see why you would be excited to play it now lol. Just find a cheap Wii U and play what you want right now.

Usually a fan of remasters...but this has me unsure. For one, it's not good for us Wii U loyalists. The games are essentially the same game. So a gen is cut short and for our troubles we're served more of the same thing right away.
The focus on remasters is often erroneously blamed for slowing the release of new games, and normally I really dislike this. However as N moves very slowly in general and has limited studio support, it really feels like these remasters are taking the place of new content.
Two minds, on the one hand there were epic games last gen that never saw a potential audience bigger than ~13m. On the other hand, the audience that *did* support those games, deserves more new content.
There are a great many reasons why the WiiU bombed. It's library is not one of them.
Unfortunately majority of the audience that did support those games will blindly buy them over and over again. Just read this thread. No fault of Nintendo in dishing out ports when the audience swallows them up
wonder if we could get a port of the original Xenoblade from Wii too
There's not a single Wii U game that convinced me to "make the jump" even though a lot of the exclusive games for the console caught my eyes. Couldn't look past the console itself to justify investing into the platform.Well that's one of the main reasons I didn't buy. It was the same reason I'd not bought any Nintendo home console.
Somehow Switch got passed that. I think because I look at it as a handheld. And so I'm not looking at the poor support compared to PS4/XBO/PC.

That and most of what Nintendo themselves announced for the Switch are new games so I don't understand the narrative of Nintendo only releasing remasters / remakes in place of new games. People seemingly worrying about that or talking about how it's such an issue just comes across as concern trolling to meSo what? Should these games some of which are masterpieces just die with the WiiU? Why shouldn't they be preserved on a more popular platform for the future?
Does switch have enough buttons though?

It's a good thing. BC included as a feature of the system would be a better thing, though.
