Lame. Blame Sony. I'm sure DF would love to get their hands on a PS5 and give you a breakdown. What else should they do, commentate over Sony's video while saying "yes, there is a heatsink" "oh look, there is the ssd controller". Those type of videos are only interesting when we still are waiting for information on what's in the console, we know what's in the PS5.
I'm sure DF and their community that watches would be better served to wait until they can touch the console themselves.

But if DF did make that video NeoGAF would just shit on the video and/or on DF as whole...........so instead of spending time on it, they skipped the process of actually making it and just let you shit on the video anyway and end up with the same thread we were going to get either which way.

The Xbox content was already planned and scheduled. The PS5 video dropped out of nowhere. The could do a quick and dirty PS5 video but it would be a glorified reaction video with no original content.
Obviously one of those avenues is more conducive to DF's workfkow. Which isn't to say that they'll never do a PS5 video either.
Some of you really have a hard on for interpreting DF's words in the most unforgiving way possible, so that it fits with your persecution complex, despite there being a perfectly reasonable explanation at hand.

In his post on resetera, he states that they don’t have a physical PS5 with them. Why would you want them to make a tear down video if the don’t have a PS5? Am I missing something here?

so the video is there for all to see, there isn't much special to the video tbh. the difference here is Digital foundry were invited to Microsoft head quarters and actually got to play about with the parts inside the series X.
Sony hasn't done that or handed out PS5 as of yet, there isn't much to report on regarding the PS5 and the video Sony put out is informative enough. dos we need another video that would actually say the same?

is one of the better ones out there. There are also others like Innocence that also have interesting things to say about it.
While it's a shame there Digital Foundry doesn't want to make a video about it it's their choice. I will say that Alex could have said it a bit better though.

Now, the Playstation 5 Teardown has roughly 7M views. I guess the masses found one teardown more "interesting" than the other.
I can completely understand that DF may not have a video because they are working on projects, but to claim the PS5 Teardown was uninteresting and does not have a lot of information is a load of bullshit. It answers a lot of questions that Rich was pondering about and is very well designed and even a first in console gaming with Liquid Metal as the thermal interface.

They are supposedly more than qualified to provide at least preliminary analysis based on everything that was shown, until they have the hardware in their hands, just like many other youtube channels already did. NX Gamer was able to perfectly draw a very insightful commentary by doing just that. It's just a matter of will.

I'm sure if Sony had sent a PS5 to DF, or even invited them to test one, you'd have just as many videos as about the Xbox Series X - which they actually have. Instead Sony prioritized the opinion of this guy;
