Yups.

nice, odd that we get Disgaea 2 before Disgaea 1 though
Might have to do with Atlus? Well, most likely Atlus licensing that Tsunami Bomb song could've messed up re-releasing the PS2 version, probably wasn't really worth getting that song in in the long run.

Personally, I'm more interested in seeing if they get their other PS2 games up like Makai Kingdom and Soul Nomads, never got those and Soul Nomads especially I'm interested in.

Well I guess having Makai Kingdom on the PS3 somewhat makes up not getting the PSP remake. Somewhat.

They really should have just release it as a PSN only title and probably just dump the dub all together.
Pointless, all they need to do if I'm right is get rid of that one song. I imagine if the VA alone were a problem we wouldn't have seen the PSP version on PSN anyway.

I imagine we're talking about different games here.

I was referring to Makai Kingdom's PSP remake and I think you're talking about Disgaea 1.

The PSP version didn't have The Enemy Within, can't be too hard to remove it from the PS2 version. That said, another reason I like having the original.

It's a pretty awesome song.

Ah, right, got myself mixed up there.

... Still, it probably wouldn't have been much VA to add if there was that sort of new content, so I'd hope they could've tackled it for this. Or just left those parts unvoiced, whatever.

Didn't even hear the song in game initially since I played through with the Japanese VA option (ended up not doing that on Disgaea 2 and 3 though). I'd probably have to hear again, I think it was in one of the trailers too.

Sorta weird in hindsight how Atlus licensed those songs out, for that and DDS (though I kinda like the Etro Anime song there).

Yep, it's in the trailer(very, very well synced up), and it's in the vampire battle.

I liked the gameplay in this one better than the first, but the pirate search just ended the post game earlier than I would have liked it to for me. It's my favorite out of the 3 I played, although I will agree that the original has more charm.

Has anyone else noticed sound oddities in the PSP ver?

Eh, I already have the PSP versions of 1-2. Still, nice for those that don't own/want a handheld I guess?

I wonder if my old save will work. I clocked well over 200 hours on it. The item world music is permanently etched in my brain.

I never liked D2 even though I still class D1 as one of the greatest games ever.

The overuse of geo panels made it feel like a puzzle game navigating a map rather then anything else.

If you like turn based games, or rpgs, or SRPGS, or games, or joy then get this!

I finally tried the disgaea series (disgaea 2) last week and I can't believe I missed out on this game for so many years.

It has upped the bar for gameplay in turn based and in srpg games to the point where it'll just ruin any other games in the genre for me.
There is so much replay value and great gameplay and good game design here.
