Not surprising, considering how much Star Wars garbage is released every year (between TV shows, movies, games, etc.).

I hope they do this and stick to it. I would revel in their saturation and await the boon of them turning the Star Wars IP into a soulless husk, devoid of anything but decisions for shareholders.

Marvel and star wars were two of my favorite properties growing up. I think some people are just over marvel after infinity wars; seeing all the worry about how Ms marvel was not doing well cause people are racist is really shitty.

I think people are just burnt out. It's way too much content especially after years of nothing. I'm not looking forward to any of these games until I see more footage. They've been bad stewarts of these properties recently

Buy Ubisoft and they can put out a SW game every 3 months. Star Wars would have the lore to keep Ubisoft games interesting. Each sandbox game would be set in a SW location. one whole game in Cloud City. another sandbox platformer on the Moon of Endor (based on the cartoon).

I see nothing wrong with this. Go back to the 90's and every year we got at least 2 games and/or 2 expansions. Then in the 2000's we got even more per year.

1994 -Super Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, X-Wing Collectors CD-ROM, Star Wars: Tie Fighter + expansion.
1995 - Star Wars: Tie Fighter Collectors CD-ROM, Star Wars: Rebel Assault 2, Star Wars: Dark Forces.
1996 - Star Wars: Shadow of the Empire.
1997 - Star Wars: X-Wing vs Tie Fighter + expansion, Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2, Star Wars: Masters of Teras Kasi, Star Wars: Yoda Stories.
1998 - Star Wars: X-Wing vs Tie Fighter 2nd expansion, Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2 expansion, Star Wars: Rogue Squadron, Star Wars: Rebellion, Star Wars Trilogy Arcade.
1999 - Star Wars: Episode 1, Star Wars: Episode 1 Racer, Star Wars: X-Wing Alliance.
2000 - Star Wars Arcade Racer, Star Wars Episode 1: Jedi Power Battles, Star Wars Episode 1: Battle for Naboo, Star Wars Episode 1: Obi-Wan's Adventures, Star Wars Racer Arcade, Star Wars: Force Commander, Star Wars: Demolition.
2001 - Star Wars: Starfighter, Star Wars: Obi-Wan, Star Wars: Rogue Squadron 2, Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds, Star Wars: Super Bombad Racing.
2002 - Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Episode 2: Attack of the Clones, Star Wars: New Droid Army, Star Wars Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast, Star Wars: Racer Revenge, Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds expansion, Star Wars: Bounty Hunter.
2003 - Star Wars: Starfighter Arcade, Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, Star Wars: Rogue Squadron 3, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided, Star Wars: Flight of the Falcon.
2004 - Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided expansion 1, Star Wars Battlefront, Star Wars Trilogy: Apprentice of the Force.
2005 - Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2, Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided expansion 2 and 3, Star Wars Battlefront 2, Star Wars: Republic Commando, Lego Star Wars.
2006 - Star Wars: Empire at War + expansion, Star Wars: Lethal Alliance, Lego Star Wars 2.
2007 - Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron, Lego Star Wars: Complete Saga.
2008 - Star Wars: Force Unleashed, Star Wars Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duals, Star Wars Clone Wars: Jedi Alliance,
2009 - Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron, Star Wars Clone Wars: Republic Heroes.
2010 - Star Wars: Force Unleashed 2, Clone Wars Adventures, Star Wars: Battle Pod.

Lots of great games, lots of shit games.
If all of these games didn't diminish the Star Wars IP, I'm sure all these new games won't either.
People just looking for an excuse to shit on Disney again.

And i'd take one every 6 months to be honest. The Star Wars universe is so rich with so much potential, its honestly tailor made for gaming.

Disney has not learned the lessons that LucasArts learned through decades of making Star Wars games. Over saturation is NOT your friend and while the industry has changed and you can have multiple high level studios and companies producing star wars content, 6 months almost means having upwards of 10 games in development at all times. That's a pretty tall order for ONE franchise. Especially since it only takes a couple rough ones to really tank your image.
Also too bad that Disney short sightedly shut Lucasarts down as soon as they were aquired and then subsequently fired almost all of their in house Disney Interactive Developers in 2016…leaving it up to EA.

This does have all the hallmarks of a bad idea. And a VERY expensive one at that.

What was it about 10/15 years ago square flooded the market with FF games? That didn’t go well either.

Not saying it’s impossible. But the difficulty in achieving consecutive successful game launches makes me think this is a badly thought out ideology.

I could see it working for a Marvel or DC universe. But much much harder for SW I think

Just re-release Battlefront 2015 as Battlefront Arcade and watch the dough roll in

Such an underrated game

Conveyor belt strategy for games too......well it's certainly working out well for the TV stuff because I think we can all agree it's been absolutely top quality so far, lol.Someone needs to take Disney out the back and put them out of their misery...what a fucking useless company they have become.
