What. The. Fuck.

okay yeah this lady is full of shit. She gave him “asexual” lap dances and let him scratch her back and play with her hair and is making these excuses like these are all just normal non-sexual things that make/female platonic friends do.

bullshit. Sounds more like she was benefitting from their relationship so she allowed the creepy stuff to continue, then only decided to speak up once she was no longer benefitting from it. There’s no way in hell that she didn’t know what was going on.

I’d feel a lot more sorry for her if this were just some creepy guy making unwanted advances. Sounds more like she was leading this guy on in order to get what she wants from him.

obviously the guy is also a total creep who is also guilty, and was using his clout to try to get in her pants. But I am having a hard time seeing her as an innocent victim
WHAT THE FUCK IS AN ASEXUAL LAP DANCE!?

You know… when a woman grinds all over your junk but in a nonsexual way. It’s just intended for you to enjoy and appreciate the artistry of the dance.

I request them from my female friends all the time. Totally normal. None of them ever thought that this was exceeding the bounds of a platonic friendship or that she might be giving me mixed signals by doing so.

"Eventually it started leading to “I’m really sad, is it alright if I hug you?” and similar comments. Which led to flirting and then more, him commenting on my character's boobs and stuff and could he touch them"

Asexual lap dance is one of the best things I've heard in a long time. What in the actual fuck is the world coming to.

I haven't read anything on this actual "case" I'm just entertained by reading those words.

To be on topic I hope whoever is actually guilty of anything gets their just desserts.

We are animals with a bigger than average brain. That's all. Look what a porn site offers. EVERYTHING you can imagine. 90% of that is degenerate. Sending up a train into a woman's vagina, pissing, shitting, ejaculating on her face. That's not fucked up? Making her drink urine?

A totally fucked up society, that's what we have. And what can a person who doesn't know anybody from this equation do with accusations like this? So now people will serve justice? Based on what?
There is nothing degenerate about me banging my step mom or step sis

I can guarantee you women are very aware of how men have no clue, and that they can be dangerous when things are taken the wrong way. They SHOULD feel free to tell a man straightforward they're not interested... In an idealistic world. However, (not all) women cannot simply do that - out of fear of retaliation.

An awkward guy gets mixed signals and is told to fuck off, they can still act out of line and be threatening. Women are used to it and often the safest course of action is to try and ignore it or "let it happen" if it isn't forcefully endangering.

For example, my friend was outside of a bank and a guy catcalled her from his window and made remarks to her. She is a brave gives-no-fucks soul and told him to fuck off. Then he started to pull over and park in the bank lot. She had to run inside and hide with the employees until they saw him drive off + she got escorted out. Different scenario than the OP story, but it shows women can't just shut men's advances.

That is why the onus is on us men to do better. We shouldn't be the ones putting them in uncomfortable positions and why communication is key.

Or you call the cops get his license plate and get a restrain order for the guy and paste his car on the web. See how he likes it.

I agree men have a bigger responsibility in ensuring they aren't assholes towards women they're interested in, but your example here to support your point is highly contextual.

In the case of the OP, the woman in question was friends with him. He wasn't some random stranger on the street catcalling her. That relational context provides a stronger basis for her to have to courage to say no clearly and concisely without fear of retaliation, because of the assumption that both parties wouldn't want to jeopardise the friendship.

When the man in question is an unpredictable unknown quantity, I can totally get women feeling fear of reprisal if she responds to his sexual advances in a negative way. On the other hand, if there is a preexisting relationship/friendship, there's far less reason for the woman to be fearful unless she's such a poor judge of character that she'd willingly choose to be friends with a dangerous asshole.

This is dumb. If some guy makes sexual advances and u don't want any of it u say it straight out and kick him out and basically ignore his ass for the next while or cut ties entirely.

Going along with it and then out of nowhere saying i don't want it = mixed signals. U can't blame the guy for it. He tried and u accepted it.

I can tell you this 99% of the guys that interact with woman/girls wants to get in there pants and the same way the other way around. There is absolute zero reason to interact otherwise as a male with a girl/woman. Unless its family or a wives friend or gay and even then if your wife has a "friend" that isn't gay u should probably think twice about it.

That's the reality of things.

What is dumb? How is what you're saying even relevant to what I was arguing in that post?

You're making an entirely tangential point.

Er... ok... who are you talking to here?
