How can you not come up with a four minute speech on video games when you're a member of a video game enthusiast forum?

video games is a broad topic. u havent even planned anything out yet??

first pick a specific topic and just broaden it. make ur audience understand the issue and be able to give good examples.

Do a speech about the preservation of games. Seems like an interesting topic that you don't see covered a lot.
Archiving defunct MMO's including what happens in their final hours is a pretty fascinating topic that I think someone who doesn't really care about games can find a grain of interest in.

Emulators in the context of software preservation rather than lol free gaimz would be interesting possibly maybe. Mention bsnes for sure if you do this.

do a presentation on censorship of art in japanese games, and how this ties into the puritanical origin of this country and the slow erosion of personal liberty.

Just find one of those 4 year long $300,000 worth E.V.E. stories where 6 people backstab each other and then get someone to stalk their opponents and cut their electricity mid fight.

Just pretend you were debating on GAF about something you care about, and let loose, lol.

Or if you want to be extremely personal/corny, talk about your history as a gamer, and what it means to you, and maybe your opinions on people not taking it as a serious art-from or still considering it as something for nerds.

Memorize and read a transcript of NPR's TL;DR episode about Vile Rat, the popular Eve Online player who was killed in the attack on the American embassy in Benghazi.

If you do it right, there won't be a dry eye in the class and it'll make everyone think of the legacy they'll leave in a digital space filled with people who knew your name.

Just talk about video games in our social life--how it affects us, when it does, the consequences.

Or else, might need to run a presentation about how gamig affects you.

Talk about how you put off planning for your speech until the night before, because you were too busy playing video games/posting on a video game message board...
But it's alright, because the nice people on the video game message board helped you come up with this speech!

Why not go a bit deeper?

Talk about the effect of video games from their communal aspects in multiplayer games to the affectation of their storytelling in single player and cooperative experiences. Discuss how a game can impart so much on just its mechanics alone. Go into the psychology of what compels us to play and why the medium has grown.

Then delve into your own experiences as examples.

Just do a 4 minute commentated play-through of Superman 64.
Haha, op should do his best angry video game nerd impression.

Or better yet since it's only 4 minutes, do a yahtzee like review

I would delve deep into the psychology of the people that worship their corporate gaming masters. It's excitement, the sales, the reviews, anticipation, marketing, the experience. Then disappointment and the new the object that Kaz or Steve and co designed for me to slurp up. I'm so excited I forgot to shower.

Your audience is probably not going to give a fuck. I'd talk about something more interesting...
