Best case scenario:

Trump stays in the top tier until after a couple of primaries, loses the GOP nomination, but decides to run as an independent because of his ego.

Please let this happen.

At this point I think all his movements are just a viral marketing campaing for his next realty show "the Latino" uncover next months

I'm with whoever said it's got to be a Republican conspiracy. Otherwise... I mean I would guess he must be so rich he's forgotten what financial consequences feel like but he's had casinos and shit close left and right on him hasn't he? In addition to these most recent deals.

Honestly he should be worried about going bankrupt for the 4th time by not accounting for all the stupid money he's going to throw at this election.

Having read the piece Buzzfeed did on him last year, I'm not sure what to think. The man lives in a remarkable bubble.

As I quietly eat my salad and listen to the three men talk, I am struck by their reverence for the boss, to whom they unwaveringly refer as “Mr. Trump,” even among one another. The notion that Trump is a credible threat to run for president is treated with nothing but credulity — even when we’re off the record, and even when they’re carrying on private conversations they don’t know I’m eavesdropping on.

In a way, it makes sense. The day after the 2012 election, I spoke with one of Trump’s confidantes about his political appeal to working-class men in flyover country. “If you have no education, and you work with your hands, you like him,” the confidante told me. “It’s like, ‘Wow, if I was rich, that’s how I would live!’ The girls, the cars, the fancy suits. His ostentatiousness is appealing to them.” The more time I spend with the yes-men, the clearer it becomes that Trump has surrounded himself with a similar type. They are the outer-borough kids who made good, and they are hypnotized by his grandiosity. Trump’s lavish lifestyle and his brash proclamations that everything he touches is the best, the greatest, the most incredible — all of it contributes to an illusion of electability within his inner circle.

Whether he lives in his own little bubble world or not or not, we can at least thank Trump's entry into the presidential race for raising the level of political discourse:

I'm sure everything is going to be just fine.

He seems to be doing much better than anyone ever expected, if this Jon Stewart video is anything to go by: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZXK5NwvySQ#t=8m48s

Ranked #2 in a national Republican poll as well as Iowa and New Hampshire.

I'm convinced 4chan is behind this, though I would actually love to see him win the primaries and go against Hillary. Would make for the most entertaining election of all time.

I can actually see this happening. He'll have some rant about the Republicans and Democrats being the same party and he's the only one who can provide something different and great for America (and some more extreme racism)

Christ. Why?

There's sixteen or so different options to pick from, and everyone's heard of Trump. He's definitely picking up some far right loons who agree with everything he's saying, but we're still only talking about 13% of people being polled.

That's all we need for him to get into the debates. And that is what matters.

you can't put a price on sparks
Christ. Why?

It ain't hard being #2 when you are competing against Ben Carson, Carly Fiorina, Lindsey Graham et al.

Trump is the only one people know, he keeps getting covered, and he isn't necessarily saying much that isn't what the Republican Party believes right now despite the way he is saying it.

TAJ

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
When I heard that Arnold was going to run for governor I thought it was a joke. It turned out to be a nightmare.

"I have a great relationship with the Mexican people. I have many people working for me - look at the job in Washington - I have many legal immigrants working with me. And many of them come from Mexico. They love me, I love them," the 2016 GOP contender said in an interview with NBC News. "And I'll tell you something, if I get the nomination, I'll win the Latino vote."

OK OK, I'll vote for you, just please STOP, the laughter is becoming painful.

At this point he must be running for shits n giggles or as a way to gain more publicity. No way he believes the bullshit that comes out his own mouth.

Trump On Retweet About Jeb's Wife: 'No, I Don't Regret It'

Donald Trump said he doesn't regret retweeting a racially charged remark about fellow 2016 candidate Jeb Bush’s wife, in a sit-down interview with CNN Wednesday.

Although Trump said he didn’t authorize retweeting the message -- “#JebBush has to like the Mexican illegals because of his wife” -- he doesn’t regret sending the message, saying he believes Columba Bush’s Mexican heritage influences his stance on immigration.

"No, I don't regret it," Trump told Anderson Cooper. “If my wife were from Mexico, I think I would have a soft spot for people from Mexico. ... I’ve heard she’s a lovely woman, by the way.”

Trump also responded to a Washington Post report earlier this week that despite his remarks that immigrants entering the U.S. illegally are ruining the country, there are undocumented workers on the construction site of Trump’s new luxury hotel in DC.

Trump said he only wished the Post had named names so that he could fire any undocumented workers.

“I wish they would give us some names, we would get them out immediately,” he said.

Although he shifted some blame on the project’s contractor for hiring the workers on site, Trump said the buck "absolutely" stops with him and that he “can’t guarantee” all workers on his projects have legal immigration status.

The full interview airs tonight on CNN at 8 p.m. EDT.

And most republican candidates still haven't forcefully condemned him. I assumed Hillary was going to win the Hispanic vote regardless but this fiasco alone could ensure she beats Obama's 2012 numbers (he won 71% of the Hispanic vote). Jeez.

Trump has been called bad before. Many have said he does things that are not correct to do. I don't believe in talk such as this. He is nice man with happy feelings. All of the time.

So he's gonna....sue himself? Turn himself in?

The way I see it, Trump has to be one of three things:

1. An idiot
2. Part of a Republican strategy to make Jeb seem normal and drive the extreme right wing back towards the center.
3. Part of a Democratic strategy to make the entire Republican field look like wackos or drive the candidates farther to the right to alienate more voters.

If he is a part of either 2 or 3 then he is playing the part to the hilt and should be awarded an Oscar. OTOH, Occam's Razor very clearly points to option 1...

i've been begging for over 5 years.
It's much more fun to imagine the Donald as being what a Colbert campaign would look like.

I always thought it was kinda stupid that people are taking him so seriously.

He's pretty clearly been trolling ever since he announced he was running.

Donald Trump as president? Does anyone really even believe that this dude wants to be president?

It's a giant PR stunt that's going to accomplish exactly what he wanted it to accomplish: to line his pockets with more money in his future endeavors.

This guy has 3 million followers on twitter.

Too bad they are on the losing side of history with same-sex marriage and greater promotion of equality between races.

what are they going to say? "we support immigration" -- they don't

maybe they can say something like

'we have, ya know, a modicum of human decency - like, at least a shred of decency - and so we're gonna come out and say that Trump is a jerkface and we don't think all Mexican illegal immigrants are rapists or killers or criminals and we also don't think Jeb thinks Trumps comments are hurtful because his wife is Mexican. I reiterate we're still against illegal immigration, but like holy shit Trump is an asshole. Like I just want to confirm we're not that awful. We're still pretty awful, but even we have limits.'

They only care about white people. Thats all you need to know.

They wont denounce what Trump is saying because thats what alot of their people think/believe but wont say it to avoid being called out. All that party wants to do is deport everyone and close off the borders with some Killzone: Shadow Fall 100 ft Walls.

Someone looked into this and apparently a very large number of them are in Asia . . . . basically paid-for twitter followers to pump up the number of followers.

get some go again
Why haven't the GOP come out and denounce him?
the republican base loves everything trump is saying. if they come out against him then they risk alienating the voters. most serious contenders are going to sit around waiting for donald to fizzle out and never really get into it with him.
