I have my own theories and I thought about doing a really long write-up about it. Not on here, per se, just on my own free time.

I think it's many many factors. One being that social media is turning people into sociopaths.

I'm a millennial. I work for my money and I hate socialism and the far left. It's my understanding that I'm a minority among my fellow millenials. Maybe its because I didn't go to college, and so I avoided the indoctrination. If so, I pat myself on the back. Way to go Riven326. You're not a commie. Well done. 👍
You didn't even go to college, you lazy millennials.

Joking aside that's probably the least interesting thing about you, and describes millions of other untold millennials too. I wish people would stop buying into the generalizations.

It's hard to argue when so many millenials are diehard socialists far left SJW types. I don't know what the fuck happened. They weren't all commies and shit when I went to school with them. College has a way of changing people, I guess.

Anyway, I don't begrudge them their preconceptions about millenials or about me personally when they realize I am one. Oh, a millennial, probably lazy. I don't even know if they think this when they meet me. But I assume they do and so I set out to prove them wrong. It makes for a better job performance review anyway. Practical benefit to a possibly imagined and perhaps paranoid belief of first impressions based on internet memes and stuff. I can live with it.

Why are you types only capable of binary thinking when it comes to everything except gender?

What was actually said: "Many of them chose to chase frivolous arts degrees"

What you read: "Millennials are only going after liberal art degrees"

God damn you are a fucking idiot.
Fucking weasel

When your indoctrinated at an impressionable age, when thinking for yourself is difficult because you have very little life experience, and are searching for meaning, people have a tendency to latch onto to ideologies much like a religion.

It is extremely difficult to step outside of that, and recognize it.

When I was growing up babies were constantly cooed over by women of all ages. I've noticed with ours that it's only ever older women who smile at her or play with her: younger women almost go out of their way to completely ignore her.
That's depressing to hear. Join a (non-progressive infested) church, where I can assure you that the vast majority of the women of all ages will openly rush to greet a new baby.

The generalization that millennials are narcissistic and have a "Woe is me" attitude?

Because this thread isn't helping

It's a worry because raising children in poverty leads to more poverty and a lower standard of living for those children. It's not just a finical risk assessment for ourselves, but also for the children.
So, having this "lower standard for living" is something to be afraid of so much that it's better to not have kids? This just proves my point that even when we now have more food, water and money than ever, we are now scared of getting less of that to the point of

This became a thing after society got wealthy enough.

Dude... what idealized world are you imagining??? Having children has been a calculation of finical well being since finical well being has been a thing, and before that people had children to tend to farms and learn trades.
It's a lot different to see kids as hope for future growth than as a threat to us losing what we already have.

Always with the theatrics. "rip it from the womb".
But that's how it happens. It doesn't just nicely flow out from the womb. They need tools to drag, rip and suck it out. It requires extra force to make it happen and there are tools specifically made to do that. If anything, not telling it like it is is much involves a lot more theatrics than this.

Are you opposed to birth control and plan B too? Plan B ACTUALLY stops fertilized eggs from implanting. It's basically an early chemical abortion. Setting that aside, do you understand just how many potential lives are lost before they ever have a chance of being aborted? The number of fertilized eggs that miscarry or don't implant is FAR higher than any number of abortions.
Not interested in having a longer abortion talk in this thread. There are plenty of threads in this forum where I've had lengthy discussions about it. You can search "abortion" and set the search to look for posts with my username.

But I will say this. Every miscarried egg is a tragedy too.

Just because it's been said time and time again doesn't make it any more true. It's simply a part of our biology that we think in this way. We view ourselves, and therefore our generations, in higher regards then others. So the past generation aways made things worse, we always made things better, and those who come after us? They'll always fuck it up. That's a truth of the human condition that will probably never change.
I get what you mean but I'm not so sure it's always been like that. People used to respect the knowledge and the work of the past generations way more than we do now. People respected the elderly and they weren't afraid to become old.

Yes, being hung up on ancient religous dogma does make it difficult to see progress however...
Progress towards what? One thing I always wonder when people call themselves progressives is that what are they progressing towards.
Progression so far has built into massive fear of ecological catastrophy.

The people who lived 1000 years ago would be fucking PYSCHED that you could have two or three children instead of five or more because children don't die so often.
Are you sure about that? Sure, they would be glad to see children don't die so often, but are you sure their reaction to that would be that they should now have less children? Maybe they would be glad that in future families can be big and healthy. It's not as if the sole reason for having kids was to have spare kids in case some of them die.

They'd also be amazed that we have the medical science to keep mothers from dying in childbirth. We are UNEQUIVOCALLY better equipped to bring children into this world, AND TO CHOOSE WHEN and HOW, then we ever have been in the past.
So, let me get this straight... We are really really REALLY much better equipped to bring children into this world and we are even able to choose when and how, but yet it's somehow too big of a risk to take?

Is that Bernie getting imasculated on his own stage?
Pathetic. If he can't even stand up to two loud-mouth black women, what makes him thinks he can stand up to Xi Jinping , Putin, the the europeans, the mexicans, the africans?

The clowns like bernie, warren, harris aren't serious candidates. Biden is their only respectable candidate but even obama had to pull him out of the trash heap for him to get this close.

I enjoy fine wine while listening to millenials whine about being called out for whining.

"Only" means 100% right? Please tell me, what does "many" mean?

Fucking gigayikes. They've nearly doubled in <20 years? That's worse than I thought. Meanwhile, computer-related degrees have reduced? Fucking participation degrees are at the root of this current_year bullshit.

If you would genuinely like to know, my parents went through a bitter divorce that dragged out over my late teenage years, ultimately leading to me moving out on my own at age 18 with <$100 to my name, working a low paying job (employment laws here reduce pay significantly if you are <21) to fund my way through uni.

You aren’t genuine though, so you can eat a dick you soft millennial cunt.
I would also point out that you managed to accomplish all you did while living in the most Crocodile/Snake/Spider/Kangaroo infested continent ever!

All the while our rivals are pumping out engineers and scientists by the truck loads.

I don't think they world has lost it's marbles. More like it's reverting back to what it was before the enlightenment. Some how the outliers of humanity pulled everyone into the modern world. All the good quality we attribute to humanity as a whole came from these fringes.

We're really not that great at engineering due to the decline in manufacturing. We're largely a nation of business, and it shows.
