Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 |OT| Just in Time for Super

I'm gonna be getting this game later today, and I'm a bit lost as to what I should transfer from XV1.
I was a strike super focused Namekian, with:
Meteor Crash
Final Cannon
Maximum Charge
x20 Kaioken
(I also used Burning Attack and Galactic Donuts for a spell, so I'd probably bring one of them over instead of Kaioken. Change the Future was cool too from what I remember)

Victory Rush
Super Ghost Kamikaze Attack
Final Pose

Are there any of those skills that aren't worth bringing over (as in you can get them fairly early in the game), or am I good to bring them?

For this game I'm planning on going with a male Majin, but I'm not sure if I want to focus on Ki Blast, Strike, or a mix of both. I definitely want to try out Spirit Ball, because that's always been a favourite attack of mine, and I never had the DLC so I never got to try it on XV1, and I love Meteor Crash so I'll probably use that, but I always forget which type of specials Male Majin are best with. I was never a fan of Ki Blast moves on XV1 though, so would something like a 75 Strike/25 Ki Blast split work?

Finally, which preset slot transfers over, the first one, or the most recently used one?

You can't transfer transformations, so kaioken is a no go anyway.
Out of those skills you listed, meteor crash is probably the easiest to get, same with final pose, vicory rush and super ghost should be mentor skills.
Maximum charge comes pretty late, but I did fine without it honestly, you won't have 5+ ki bars to start of any way, especially if you transfer clothing that doesn't boost it.

I would honestly transfer stuff like 100x big bang kamehameha, super spirit bomb, burst kameha etc..
Also the boosts in attack points aren't as important as the gear you wear to boost those stats, especially seeing how each stat has a soft cap for the race/gender that uses it; if your picked character excels at normal strikes, then they will hit the soft cap (70-80) much earlier than a species that isn't, this is so that one species doesn't become insanely dominant in a certain trait.

Also you get much more points in xv2 than in xv, I have 80-80-80 in all attack stats, and points in ki and health as well, so you can create a balanced character that is boosted by clothing in presets or you can create a specialist much easier.
This is because the point cap is now 125 instead of 100, though 125 in any attack stat is not worth it, 124 is the final soft cap for everyone, the final point is only worth exacly 1 point of damage. 125 is worth it for ki or stamina though, at level 85 that gives you exactly 3 bars extra before gear stats.

The transfer doesn't look at presets, it looks at whatever you had equipped.

Thank goodness you can reassign your points with a wish. This gets so confusing sometimes.

Also, which is better? Cooler's Supernova or Frieza's Death Ball?

So it took my brother and I about 15 minutes to figure out just how to freaking play together. Wow, I can't believe how frustratingly difficult it is to just group up with people in this game.

I had to first create a private Team using Team Registration and then invite my brother only after I searched for his online ID and added him to favorites.

Am I doing something wrong?

How do I get to thia raid quests?

One thing this series still needs improvement on is UI (not in battle) and general direction. Never know how to find shit half the time.

I really hope XV3 makes drastic improvements to the netcode. All online modes are basically unplayable for me since I live in Australia and thus every fucking person I connect to has one bar.

PvP in particular is frustrating at times even with 5 bars, because attacks will badly confirm/whiff at very critical times, and given how the skill ceiling of the game has much increased from the first one, it is more frustrating when single moments with connection issues can snowball in a fight.

I hope they move over to a new engine for XV3. This one is already meh and the graphics are average at best. Also more customisation offers would be nice. Extremely disappointed in XV2 and how it had all the same shit from XV1. Its basically the same game.

$9.99 for 2 characters, a couple PQ's and some SSouls and change seems like an incredibly bad value.

I guess I'll hold off and see how DLC 2 and 3 and beyond is and then decide if I want to just get the Season Pass. Individually though DLC 1 doesn't seems worth the asking price. $4.99 would have been a no brainer for me.

How is that a bad value though? Seem cheaper than what other fighting games charge for new characters, the PQ's themselves are actually pretty nice challenge compared to the base stuff.
I'm also making good use out of cabba's and ssb kaioken goku's super souls, I believe frost's ult is also straight up murder on raid bosses.

I don't think you should compare this to fighting games.

The amount of depth those characters have compared to real fighting game is laughable, and the balance is made of nightmares.

But clearly those DLC packs are super attractive while part of the season pass, less so individually.

I should and I do, "real fighting game" lol.
XV2 is a fighting game, other fighters might have more "depth", but it's also clearly reflected in the pricing as I noted.

And as I said, it's still very much overpriced in my opinion, but it is worth it in the season pass. Lighten up.

Whoops sorry guys, didn't mean to sour the mood.

I'm having so much fun with this game in any case from the included and free DLC content. I made a Frieza Race character and a max height/weight male Earthling as well for more play styles.

I wish I didn't have to go through the story again but it's okay.

I just got this game a week ago, and I'm loving it. How do they handle the Super stuff? Is it in story like Z or parallel quests like GT?

Also, just want to say, I love that they made Super Saiyan a single skill that relies upon your max Ki to determine how far you can go. Thought it was a smart move.

Super stuff is in story through the end of RoF.

I think I would also like to see them stagger Xenoverse style releases with a more conventional, 2D style fighter. Just because playing local vs in Xenoverse isn't that fun with the way combat works. I'm sure it can be, but once you're locked in a combo with zero stamina you're just gonna get wailed on. But maybe I need to give it a more extensive chance. I just like the idea of being able to have deep matches locally.

They sort of staggered Tenkaichi and 2D fighters on alternating years back in the day

Tenkaichi
Super
Tenkaichi 2
Infinite World
Tenkaichi 3
Burst Limit

Just did the Metal Cooler part of the story mode, had XENOVERSE 1 Ginyu spaceship flashbacks.

I feel like the "Metal Cooler" part is the whole second half of the game. It seems like they throw Metal Cooler in freaking everywhere. Got pretty annoying.

There's more of him after Cell? :(
Would have rather 13, 14, and 15 had been tied into the Cell stuff, or Broly, Cooler seemed out of place.

I think the current approach of focusing entirely on the Xenoverse series is the wiser move. An open-world action-RPG Dragonball game with a good fighting system is pretty much the holy grail of Dragonball game ideas, and the Xenoverse series is the closest thing we've had to that.

So instead of spreading out the license so much and making people numb to new Dragonball releases, which is what they were doing for a while, I think they should just spend the next 1.5 to 2 years on taking the Xenoverse franchise to the next level by expanding the open-world and perhaps even make fighting happen seamlessly on the world map.

Thank god you're not in charge. People want different things out of Dragon Ball.

I don't see how it's a problem for you, XV sequel gets more time to be made, while other fans get to enjoy a good 2D fighter. It's a win win.

If a game like Extreme Butoden was made on all platforms (and dubbed) alongside Xenoverse that would be fantastic.

I'd kill for EB on the Vita.

The trade off in this case is money spent by Bandai Namco on the Dragon Ball franchise. Xenoverse 2 is really cool, but definitely rough around the edges. My point is that Namco Bandai is on the cusp of something great with the Xenoverse franchise, which provides both the fighting and adventure aspects of Dragon Ball, so they should use all the resources necessary to take that next big step and to also have the manpower to deliver a really polished experience. It all starts with money.

If multiple games can be made without any detriment to the ambitions of the other, and without Bandai Namco feeling like they don't need quality because they have quantity, then that's cool with me. I just look back at the last 15 years and see a lot of mediocre-to-decent games released on a yearly basis, even though they were fairly diverse. Now we finally have an ambitious direction in the Xenoverse franchise.

If I've only beaten Expert Mission 10, how can I skip to 16 without having beaten 15 yet? Is there a way for me to search for an Online room manually for 16 right now?

Is there an easier way to get food to feed Buu?
I've beaten the story and want to get the secret ending and I've completed Capsule Corp, Freiza's Ship, Namek (Fuck you Guru, I no longer care if you're being attacked) and Hercule's Mansion but I've barely managed to get 2 kids out of Buu due to just never really finding much food.

I heard purchasing water is the cheapest option.

All I've been doing is flying around the hub world and picking them up, as the food that you can pick up off the ground resets each time you complete a PQ, and is always guaranteed to spawn around these locations.
I generally go:
To the water near the slope that leads to the Namek area.
To the waterfall near Tien.
The mushroom area.
The lettuce patch in Namek.
Near the campfire where the fish is on the spot.

I think chocolate, pudding and something else spawns near the grass and trees near the XV1 Time Patroller statue, but I'm not 100% sure about that.

After about 3 PQs I get enough to make a new family member. Of course it's sort of luck dependent, because sometimes you end up with only getting 1 star food, but it's still fairly quick.

I just realised you can't get big bang kamehameha in this game unless you transfer it, because it doesn't drop in PQ's and I haven't seen it in the TP shop either smh.

So a few questions:

-Anyone know when DLC 2 will drop and what it will be?
-Anyone know of a good unlock guide? (Everything I've found is either half-finished or completely off) I'm trying to unlock all the costumes for various characters...but I've done nearly all of the PQs.
-What is the World Tournament? I was bummed to discover it wasn't an offline/local mode ala all the tournament modes in the past :(
-Expert Missions...what? I seem to only have access to the first one no matter how many times I've beaten it
