Square Enix will host the fourth official “Dragon Quest XI Channel S” live stream for Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition on September 26 at 21:00 JST to September 27 at 1:00 JST, the company announced. Live stream links have yet to be shared.

Part one of the broadcast will feature Dragon Quest series creator Yuji Horii and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate director Masahiro Sakurai, who will have a special discussion. Part two will invite the Japanese voice actors of the game to discuss Dragon Quest XI and the Dragon Quest series, as well as celebrate the release of Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition when the clock strikes midnight.

It's a little disappointing. I was looking to hop back and forth between the two quite frequently, but whenever you switch it requires you start from the very beginning of a chapter rather than where you've left off.

Oh really? I'm finally downloading it now. I figured you could start from a save point when you switched modes. That's okay though - I plan on doing my first play through of the Switch version totally in 2D mode (I played about 100 hours on the PC version).

Yeah it like that i thought you can only start from a church right ?
Not a whole damn chapter. You just spawn at the last save point ?

Unfortunately it reverts back to the start of the chapter you select. You keep your current XP and all of your items except the key Story related items.

Just finished it completely on PS4 yesterday. Truly a fantastic game and a worthy succesor of DQ VIII. Great news for the switch players.

Yep, that was the first thing I thought too. I’m going to resist the urge to exploit this - I was already OP in my original play through just from normal grinding - using this as a save exploit would make the game way too easy.

I’m surprised they handled it this way.

Just finished the game after almost 80 hours.
Now that feeling of “post-game emptiness” is getting ahold of me again.

I haven't even done all sidequests, or collected all outfits, so i assume you could spread that to 100 hours.
What an amazing game overall.
Minor annoyance: The Sword of Light has a sheath/scabbard in cutscenes and promotional material, but doesn’t in-game. What a weird decision by the devs.

I spent 3 days in the casino instead of progressing in the game. Checked an older save file and I must have spent about 5-8 hours in there (over 3 days), lol. So stupid.
