Man this game is fantastic. I thought that it would be perhaps a let down on a high end PC simply due to some amazing RPG's been playing recently like Witcher 3 and Fallout 4 and this being a port from a very low spec console

But feels good to play the game again at 1080/60, shows how few great combat systems ARPG's have

Amazing RPG and Fallout 4 really don't need to be in the same sentence.

I get why monikers are needed for pawns because they appear online, but why are they needed for the Arisen?

If you're using anything other than an xbox controller, you just get generic prompts.
I'm using ds4 and getting xbox promts

Someone told me that you have to plug in your pad before opening ds4 and then you turn the game on after that. I forget who lol

Savegame tool I made for converting savegames from 360/PS3 to PC: http://www.tzarsectus.com/tools/DDsavetool.rar

You can also unpack and repack saves to/from XML with it. Read the readme.txt for usage information. When converting savegame from console to PC, you'll also need a PC savegame (it reads your steam id from the steam savegame and adds it to the converted savegame). Getting your savegame file from console might be a small hassle, but I'm sure anyone who really wants to convert their savegame are familiar with copying save files from xbox or ps3.

Example of converted save:
Xbox: http://abload.de/img/2016-01-15_18-00-51ffs1v.jpg
PC: http://abload.de/img/ddda2016-01-1517-56-49vs4x.jpg
:O YOU ARE A GOD AMONG MEN. Trying this as soon as Steam finishes downloading the game. THANKS!

Man, this audio thing is really vexing me. When I play the cutscene outside the game its fine, obviously -- but when it plays inside the game the sound is all distorted and full of static.

Can't figure out what's causing it.

Keyboard and mouse controls aren't terribly great, but the actual performance is amazing.

before opening ds4? if you mean ds4windows, then well yeah you will get xbox prompts, because the game thinks you're using an xbox controller.

This is amazing! I thought I was going to have to start over! I don't know how to copy a save from the ps3 to the pc so I'll have to look that up. Is there any chance of the copied save causing any problems or glitches or will it have no effect?

Edit: When I open the tool a window pops up for half a second then it closes immediately. How do I operate this? I'm on windows 10.

Is there a way to start the New Game+ on hard? I'm thinking about the achievement. I want the first playthrough in normal mode because it's the way this game is meant to be played.

Ok, joined the group, waiting for it to finish downloading. Kinda strange, its been a long time since I've played a game on day 1.

Megaton.

Though I feel like I should start from the beginning just to familiarize myself with the game again.

You.

Are.

Fucking.

Joking.

Me.

I will happily gift you a game or two for this, friend.

Edit: wait. Can I convert non-Dark Arisen save games over? I never got Dark Arisen, only vanilla Dragon's Dogma on X360. Will that work in the converter?

Mod manager / save manager for Dragon's Dogma PC: http://www.tzarsectus.com/tools/modmanager.rar

Some quick notes:
- Before using the save manager, you'll need to enter options and define your steam user ID. This is the same number you see in "steam\userdata\[ID]\". Note that I haven't tested it with online pawns, so I'm not sure what will happen when you replace your main pawn with a completely different one online.
- When adding mods to the mod manager you'll have to add it with the expected directory structure. Basically, add a new directory for a mod in Games\DD\Mods\ and the directory structure in that should reflect the structure of the game itself (basically, the first directory should be nativePC). There's one sample mod in the mod manager for RE6, so you can use that as example.

The tool requires VS2008 C++ runtime libraries to be installed: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29

This is how the save manager looks like when populated with a bunch of saves: http://abload.de/img/modmanager2016-01-1517suf6.png (the checkmark indicates that savegame is identical to the one loaded in steam)

I'll write a steam community guide later with more detailed information about how the save manager works, but hopefully it's self-explanatory.

By the way, does anyone know of an easier way to figure out your steam user id besides checking userdata directory?

This game is WAY better than Fallout 4.

Does the game's blacks look... off? I don't know if it's an error on my part but the colors look really bad. Is color banding the term I'm looking for?

There are those who seem to think Durante can fix the aspect ratio issues...

That's not usually your area, is it?

Though I do wonder if GeDoSaTo can support texture replacement like it did for Dark Souls. That'd be something.

Ugh, the Intro Free that someone posted earlier loops the same 30 seconds lol

Also forcing AO through NVCP is.. not good. The way the AO is visible through fog and light (lantern hue) is incredibly distracting. Hoping someone comes up with something better.

-Best starting pawn for an Arisen that wants to go Fighter then spec into Mystic Knight?
I like making my pawn Mage class since (at least for me) I always want some healing support around and you always have your pawn around. I don't like playing as a pure magic class as my character.

It's a command line tool, so you need to run it via command prompt. I think you can unpack and repack saves by merely dragging and dropping files onto the executable, but it can't convert that way (since it needs two files as input).

I feel a lot of people might miss this: Remember that you can save at any point, you don't need to rely on the game deciding when to save or checkpoints. You can do so from the pause menu, press whatever the default button/key is for you.

If someone could create a "how to convert your savegame for idiots" guide that would be much appreciated. I have no idea how to use this tool.
