Aaaand done. Level 75. Why the hell didn't they use the new Renault for one of the time trials? Instead of, say, that *piece of shit* RUF CTR3, that dares to turn like a cow *on top* of being slow as shit in its class. Truly the worst car in the game.

This is rubbish, I'd much rather more Evo tracks than user generated garbage.
I do prefer more tracks from EVO, but you can't deny that a track creator and the hability to share them would fit the game extremely well.

I guess it should'nt be easy to create one and that's why they did'nt even bother giving us the tools to do it.

Regarding the elite level "grind" we talked about on the previous page, i didn't pay attention to this before, but the amount of fame points needed to go from one elite level to the next is much lower than for the levels leading up to 50. Going from 69 to 70 took approximately 1,5 million, which makes this complaint even less of an issue than i previously thought.

Speak for yourself fellow gaffer. I would never trade the few magnificient and expertly crafted Evo Tracks for tons of fan made ones.
You wouldn't play thousands of tracks though. If you're not someone who wanted to try out creations, of which yes 95% would be pants, you would just let the community decide and play the top rated or most played tracks.

I loved ModNation Racers. It had a really nice track creator - ultra simple to use, yet offered great flexibility and it's auto-plant feature meant you didn't even have to spend a decade placing decorations and buildings round the track.

Had a blast building tracks, but I didn't spend a massive amount of time playing random tracks I just viewed the top rated.

Also on this, why wouldn't you get the graphical fidelity. It would all use the same assets.

If you mean you wouldn't get the same level of polish and crazy dense detail they spend their time on then yes, you would lose some of that but if someone was nuts enough to spend months on a track replicating the tiresome work of whoever sits at Evo making their tracks placing loads of trackside details then yes you would.

Someone mentioned before about how the vistas are one of DC's major plus points and how would you go about creating those on your own. I agree, but again if you look at something like ModNation Racers you can sculpt the landscape.

But if they didn't want to make it that complex they could have like a template backdrop for each location and you can make your track within that template area.

You gotta think as well this is meant to be a 'social racer'. The game was pitched as being all about sharing your experiences, your achievements and times. Challenging some chump to beat you.

Nothing more social than making and sharing your own track and then challenging someone to beat your time on it and doing the same for everyone else's creations.

I think it would be a very well placed addition to the game, and given tracks are all free they're not losing revenue. But it isn't something that'd be quick to make I'm quite sure.

Fun fact...

Back when Driveclub released, there was a thread on GAF called "Driveclub Community and Event Thread" that was made to set challenges to each other whilst the servers were down. This was before even the weather patch.

Anyway, the Level 67 challenge of the R8 round Munnar was the first event/challenge that was posted on there. I remember winning it and It was good times seeing how far the game had come since then.

I can't visualise whether those level tasks are easy or not. And I know I'll have a bit to go fame-wise as well. I need a week at home so I can level the shit out of it :(

BUt yeah the feelign when you destroy the target time by more than a sec is really good. Did the same but this lap is quite frustrating
For me it was fun, because I could see exactly where I had to push, and every lap I would improve, but make a stupid mistake somewhere. It rewards patience and persistence. Glad to hear you smashed it too!

HOLY SHIT CAR STATS. Can anyone say what the rewards are with the new levels? Are they just new paint schemes?

And if I'm correct, these paint schemes can't be applied to club liveries, can they?

Can anyone screenshot the car stats for one or two cars? I'm curious to see what it looks like... and I won't be near my PS4 for another day or two :(

In other news, random event is so good! Haven't played since they added that. Also checked out the sprints, which are cool. I wish you could go on to the next random event after playing one directly from the restart/continue/ menu. Also, I wish there was a random sprint as well. Or maybe some sort of deal where you could structure multiple sprints and do them one after another.

Yes mate really loving the new Renault. I've set a 1:11 on bandipur reversed if anyone wants to give that a go?

I'm already at level 75 and don't remember how many stars it took to get there, can anyone confirm this? Kind of a bummer if true, being left out of max level without DLC.

Isn't the main tour like 245 stars? I think the first 2 tours should be free as well, so add 90 stars to that.

It's 315 Stars between the Main Tour and the 2 free DLC Tours. But I don't remember how many stars were required from level 66 and up, that's the question.

My 2 cents is that they delivered as promised on the base game so these extra levels go to those who paid for additional content which seems reasonable to me. Guarantee someone will bitch and moan that their Plus freebie doesn't include everything...

Well, think of them as character/gun skins that you need to pay. They are not required to earn Plat, they are not required to be better than others, but if you still want them, you need to pay some extra cash.

Level 64 looks quite "fun" with the RUF as well, probably gonna take me quite a while.

Also GAF EU finally on level 50 as well :D.

I changed the logo too the other night, it now has a black background (or, close to black). Still not sure if I like it or not. But I tinkered with the logo as well, changing colours and found some other crowns/other clipart to use, but settled back on old faithful.

Finally got a chance to have a little play of the update last night with the T3PA pedals (clutch is usable, woot) and TH8A. Just spent an hour or so doing laps in a hot hatch getting used to driving stick. Good fun. Has anyone else had a go with the 8 way shifter and clutch?

I couldn't find an option to switch between the shifter and paddles so I'm assuming I'll have to physically unplug the TH8A if I want to use the paddles. And does anyone know if cars that only have paddles can be used with the TH8A or if they revert back to the paddles? I'd naturally prefer to use the shifter for cars that have them and paddles for cars that have those, or have the option to switch in the settings menu.

It also doesn't help that the Elite challenge uses the full name of the track but the track image uses letters or tiny font. (Took a while of hunting to figure out AHR was one track before, and this time I had to get inches from my TV to confirm Sognefjord because the font is so small. Is there something I am missing on finding a track?) Several times I had to do a Finish Event after one lap to make sure I was at the right spot and to remember what time I needed.

I think it'd be nice when you go into your profile to be able to click left, select the next elite event, and press X to go straight to it. And then while in it, show the time you need to beat, like any other challenge.

Is there anyway you can tell in TT's who rides walls? there are certain tracks where wall riding actually improves your lap time, Bandipur, Sinclair Pass reversed spring to mind.

I feel as though you're almost cheated out of time if you actually use the track rather than the environment to get round the lap.

I don't want to be one of those guys who has to set times by wall riding in certain parts but if it gives others a speed boost then its a little unfair no?

Keep up the good work though, DC is my go to game for the past 9 months (since i got my PS4)

Regarding level up challenges, it would be sweet to have a special event class (just like a tour pack) with an event already set up with the specific car/track required for each level, maybe even having the time to beat shown on the hud while playing. Or something similar to what evo challenges has become now, having their own separate "folder". A player would go and choose the challenge available there for his level instead of manually setting up a time trial.

IF you can improve the CTR3 , then go for it ... i can't stand how this car handles ..it's the only time it feels like i'm fighting the game instead of enjoying the race.

I have troubles sometimes with the koenig and the ferrari FXX but at least i'm not wondering why i have trouble.. with those 2 cars my mistakes make sense to me. but the RUF CTR3 is a complete mystery as far as i'm concerned.

When we're playing Time Trial and the splits come up in Red or Green do you think Evo could increase the time that the splits we've beaten or not could stay on the screen? Having a Green or Red time means nothing if we're only 0:001 off and I'd relly like to see at my leasure than take my eyes off the road at an inconvenient time. This could also apply to the challenges for Drift/Best Line/Average speed when we're challenging scores, even just for half a second more or so so we can see how close we were. Both these disappear too quickly imo.

Aside from that the work Evo are cosntantly putting in is fantastic. I tip my hat sir!

Agree - also maybe a ghost like the tour time trials just so its quick to get a measure of if you're doing good or not.
Doesn't that exist already? All the elite challenges I've done so far have a special ghost by Evolution with the target time (or a little under it).

This. It's a small stain on an otherwise fast and streamlined UI.

I didn't have that, in my case it was almost always IKizzLE's (and very rarely kie25's) ghost i was chasing, who is right above me on the leaderboards among my friends list.

Sounds like a good idea! I've just come back to the game after 2 months off and I'm languishing down on level 61 :-( Fancy sending me the level events as challenges now you've down all the hard work in finding them Bud? ;-)
