I thought this should be put into a separate thread so as to not dominate the game thread with the discussion.

Details and download here.

Current features:

  • Arbitrary rendering and presentation resolutions (only 16:9 though)
  • HUD hiding (using the normal GeDoSaTo keybindings)

Bugs and known issues:

  • Some off-by-a-bit scaling issues, making the output less sharp than it should be in some circumstances
  • DoF effects are unchanged (still at original, low resolution – this is more apparent in contrast to higher resolutions)
  • Probably some stuff somewhere is cut off. I saw some scissor calls and am not dealing with them yet
  • Crashes when taking screenshots using GeDoSaTo
  • Rendering resolutions larger than 3840×2160 don’t work
  • Probably lots more

Why even bother with your PC port when Durante will fix it?

Great work from Durante as always, but thoroughly annoyed devs don't even seem to bother themselves. I really don't enjoy this crap being a "prerequisite" for PC gaming.

My notebook sucks so is there a way to make my PC render the game at a lower resolution/with lower details to get 30fps?

I never used GeDoSaTo before, what do I have to do?

I need to sleep soon, I hope common GeDoSaTo installation/usage questions can be answered by the regulars.

And I dream someone fixes all the remaining issues and puts up a git pull request by tomorrow ;)

There are no graphics options in the game AT ALL besides "fullscreen or not fullscreen?"

I don't know what it is with Japanese devs and locking resolutions, before Dark Souls I've never seen that happen since the late 90s (outside of 2D games).

Anybody have issues with text displaying properly in game? My Mini-map doesn't display anything. settings menu cuts off at the top, items don't show up, but are selectable.

Probably some stuff somewhere is cut off. I saw some scissor calls and am not dealing with them yet
If someone wants to fix it: probably just need to redirect setScissorRect over the plugin hierarchy and rewrite calls that set a 0/0/1280/720 scissor rect to 0/0/RenderWidth/RenderHeight. I'll do it tomorrow if possible, but I might not get to it before Saturday.
