I wonder what will happen with the RE franchise when Capcom is done with the remakes.
Code Veronica can easily hardlock the player in multiple situations, the game wasn't even properly tested.I don't blame Capcom for not investing more in both games, Code V and Zero are both the worst RE games I have ever played. Code V is too long with trash story and enemies. Zero is simply a bad game with both character gimmick and the pace was affected by that.

At some point they will probably do a complete reboot. I mean do they eventually just kill off all the old characters and start from scratch again. Maybe I’m dead by than.I wonder what will happen with the RE franchise when Capcom is done with the remakes.
TLDR: Resident Evil 3 Remake is peak and I hope Code Veronica Remake is as good.
As long as it's not another repeat of RE3: Remake, I'll be satisfied.
But will they be as shameful as the RE3 remake content-wise?
They better not be as trash and phoned in as RE3make.
I do not understand why the abortion known as Zero is getting a remake in the first place. They should remake Outbreak games instead. The original Code Veronica is awesome narratively, but the gameplay and pacing is underwhelming. There is a lot of room for improvement. I would really be tempted to check them both out if they made them almost as good as Resident Evil 3 Remake in gameplay and presentation. That one is even better than Resident Evil 4 Remake to do fun speed runs in despite a much smaller scale. If they are like RE2R I would likely only play through Code Veronica once.

Happened to me for the last boss! I had to start a new run with multiple saves to finish the game.Code Veronica can easily hardlock the player in multiple situations, the game wasn't even properly tested.

For real. RE1 is still the golden standard of remakes 20+ years after and RE2 had to be reworked completely. Not sure what was so ambitious about re4r
1 is not only the perfect REmake, but the perfect remake. Doesn't need anotherEh, Zero doesnt even need one anyway, better off using those resources to remake 1, can only imagine they're doing it this way so Zero actually makes sense in the timeline, Instead of Rebecca being a fully armed tyrant killer then regressing into medic who can barely shoot again.
Shame about CV if true though, that could have been just as great as RE4 remake

Zero needs a remake more than the reREmake tbh. So much to improve there, and 0 should be done before 1 if we want to properly tie in Rebecca and her story development.Eh, Zero doesnt even need one anyway, better off using those resources to remake 1, can only imagine they're doing it this way so Zero actually makes sense in the timeline, Instead of Rebecca being a fully armed tyrant killer then regressing into medic who can barely shoot again.

Also the strong chance that another REmake would have a VR mode. While I agree with you, the only reason it needs one now is to keep in line with the other remakes. 4 has introduced Wesker to people who started with the modern remakes but have no idea who he is. Should they just play the current game, yes as its amazing but not everyone "modern" gamer is gonna be able to tolerate the way it plays.
Plus anything that gives me more Jill to play as is a postive in my book.
Whether they alter Code Veronica's story out of cowardice or leave it the same as the original will determine if I purchase it.
It's cool to see how many people actually dislike Code Veronica. Few games have disappointed me as much as that particular title. I remember losing my mind not being able to play it at release because it was a Dreamcast exclusive. Instead, I begrudgingly played RE3 cause I only had a Playstation. Thankfully RE3 is amazing. Years later, when the PS2 port of RECV came out, I couldn't believe how bad it was. Like, why was there so much hype over a game that was so clunky? It was significantly less refined that RE3.
I'm guessing you're referring to the trans character. Man, I hope they alter that story's execution. It is so cringey and poorly done. I would love to seem them reapproach it in a more mature manner cause I think it's a neat enough concept in a Norman Bates kind of way. That said, if they scrap it altogether, I'm cool with that too. It was half-baked and dumb, IMO, so 86'ing it would be no huge loss.
If they alter it them I'm out.
DSC also made it so Alexia didn't seem to care at all about Alfred's death when in the original she coddled his dead body letting you know she at least gave a damn about her brother. Really hope they keep that. Yes it was extremely creepy, off-putting and implied incest but them being twisted is what made them interesting in a game series like Resident Evil. Even include Alfred having the split personality to cope with Alexia freezing herself for the TV-virus.They pretty much turned him into Joker in Darkside Chronicles and I suspect that's where they'll go.
I would argue that the original RE3 was as dogshit and extra as RE Zero and to completely revamp it into something entertaining was an amazing feat. To make it more fun to replay and more cohesive in presentation and pacing than any other title was unprecedented.RE 3 remake is definitely not peak. Its only positive is what you said about speed running. The rest is, as a remake, dogshit.
It's the golden age for RE.. just wanna say keep them coming, yearly like FIFA and COD .. But anyway quality over quantity, just keep making the good shit without big gaps is perfectly fine!I wonder what will happen with the RE franchise when Capcom is done with the remakes.

Enough time will pass from the first remake, so they will remake that. The bastards.I wonder what will happen with the RE franchise when Capcom is done with the remakes.
