A former far-Right MP who once called Islam "the biggest disease to have hit our country in the last hundred years" has become a Muslim in a shock conversion.

Joram van Klaveren was an MP from 2010 until 2017 for the far-right Party for Freedom (PVV) led by anti-Islam and anti-immigration firebrand Geert Wilders. Mr van Klaveren once fiercely advocated Mr Wilders' policies of banning the Koran and closing down mosques.
Mr van Klaveren said that the analysis which he made as a far-Right MP that most problems in the country and the world can be blamed on Islam were false.

Mr van Klaveren said he "did not suddenly become a Lefty" and that his conversion is purely a personal religious matter.
Happy he found a new positive calling in life , instead of advocating for hate and intolerance his now on a path to educate people about the falsehoods of Islam.

The PVV is full of idiots and this guy's just another one of them. He actually left the party because it wasn't right-wing enough for him. His conversion doesn't change a thing, he's still a moron, just one that flip flops between positions and talks about things he apparentky has no knowledge of.

We see this with some republicans in the past. They are anti-gay but then they are found in some bathroom stall with another guy. He who doth protest too much or something like that.

Article doesn't give too much detail but I get the slight impression that he actually embraces the more fundamentalist and conservative aspects of Islam lol

Fundamental Islam is further Right then the rightest of western conservatives. Makes sense that a extreme right of center politician found it compelling. Its present partnership with leftwing/neoliberal/socialist parties is strictly for convenience, protection and growth. Once its garners enough social capital, power and demographics the façade will fall and it will make the likes of westboro Baptists positively quaint. Have fun then Progs!

I guess good for him. He found a cult to belong to.

I’m a staunch atheist, so why should I applaud this shit?

To put it simply, you are free to believe whatever you want, that doesn’t stop me from thinking you are a weak minded, stupid person.

You shouldn’t applaud or listen to anything about the PVV in the Netherlands. Bunch of populist cunts that just say any shit to get votes from scared people.

Wilders is a silly looking tosser and anyone that throws in their lot with him deserves the beatings they probably got in highschool.

I'm confused.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...P-branded-Islam-disease-announces-Muslim.html

Daily Mail said:
The Dutchman said that his wife had accepted his conversion and that he does not plan to force her or their two children to make the same decision as they are free to determine their own life.

'I never wanted to impose Christianity and I won't do it with Islam either.'
So according to the Qur'an i guess he's a some kind of halft-time muslim and will only put the good things of this religion into practice. I'd welcome that. The Islam is really in need for a change. So either that or it's just a PR stunt for his book. We'll see.

He specifically said his political alignments did not change. He will still be hateful. He will just believe some ancient fariy tale on top (well and not hate on muslims anymore, but he will easily find an alternative group to hate on).

So converting to islam is a "positive calling" in your eyes?:messenger_tears_of_joy: That great "religion" where thousands upon thousands descend into the street to protest the fact that a christian woman who touched a water bowl wasn't put to death. Such great mercy and tolerance...:pie_eyeroll:

This doesn't come as much of a surprise though. I imagine we'll see a lot more far right European politicians join islam as islam takes over Europe. There's nothing more right wing than islam after all and if you're a man it's probably not that bad. Most far right male politicians hate women, jews, LGBT, SJWs, mentally ill people and so forth so really islam is great for them since it hates all those things too. And you can bet that when islam rises to power in European countries, the punishment for those hated groups will come very swiftly until they longer exist. Joining islam really is win/win for far right politicians, they get to live and see the people they hate die.

It's one of the greatest ironies in western politics that the right wingers/christians who hate and agitate against muslims wouldn't differ all that greatly from the average muslim when it comes to their values, while the left wingers who stand for way different things than the average muslim are their most vocal allies and want more of them.

It's even funnier when it comes to their views on jews. Muslims generally dislike jews AND Israel, right wingers generally dislike jews but defend Israel, left wingers generally defend jews but hate Israel.

Wilders on it:

"What a story... it's like a vegetarian going to work in a slaughterhouse. I have no words,"

Reasons he did it.

1) Trying to sell his book that he just launched.
2) His political party VNL didn't get a single seat which means he was out of a job.
3) He likes to get another job but his name is stained to hell and back and this move will make it easier to solve that problem or atleast in his view.
4) For his own protection of radicals going after him.

Its mostly a case of "how the fuck can you not see when you routinely get played?!" i mean looking at islamic history all over the formerly christian middle east or even recent history like lebanon and looking at today with the left still getting played it is just too much and when you then have this on the doorstep of your own country it isnt fun anymore.
The insane thing is that the so called right and conservatives will mostly have no issue adapting but the left would lose everything they ever ?pretended? to care about? Yeah good luck trying to preserve those womens rights, gay rights, trans rights, religious freedom, free speech and even basic western democracy as the demographic and religious pendulum swings over two generations and politicians are forced to pander to backward ideas we already left behind decades ago... but i get it "lol not my issue i will be dead anyway lolol"
