EA confirms that Respawn Entertainment will work new Star Wars titles

I still want this:
Wasn't a good deal of those assets repurposed for Fallen Order?

I'll give them a long shot at another Battlefront game (huge fan) but its possible Battlefront 3 is being speculated in Dice, EA, and Respawn Entertainment circles pending the final outcome of Battlefield 2042 that was hugely successful in sales despite clear issues.
I don't think there's another Battlefront coming from EA.

That's not to say Disney wouldn't sell the franchise rights to other studios or publishers like Bungie, Microsoft 343i or idSoftware, Sony Guerrilla, Avalanche or many others.

What I'd really like to see is a Battlefront game with the same seamless transition between foot, ground vehicle and spaceship combat. It's something DICE never managed to get working on frostbite, probably because they were too focused on getting the casino side of the game to work exceptionally profitable.

Free Radical even had a working prototype of Battlefront 3 where we could start on foot, then enter a starship, pilot the starship in the atmosphere, then fly into space to do space dogfights.

Strangely enough, this is much more in line with the Battlefield series than DICE's Battlefront ever came to be. I guess DICE's directors were just way more focused on their monetization-driven bonuses than they ever were on making a good Star Wars game, and that's a shame.

Loved Respawn Titanfall & Apex games, but I couldn't get into their Jedi game. I guess it's fine if they can cash in on a successful IP, but I hope they'll have room for other games with their trademark action/mobility shooting. Don't care if it's in SW universe or Titanfall.

To me this is what losers say. Just because you have become bored with an IP doesn't mean everybody else has. Maybe.......................just maybe you can just ignore it going forward and allow us Star Wars fans to enjoy everything that we are getting.

It's the same loser mentality that have people hating on Marvel stuff now. Both owned by Disney of course. It's starting to make me wonder if all this "talk" is really anti-Disney talk, instead of people really being against Star Wars and Marvel. 🤔

Loser in what exactly? I fully agree with him, if you're getting the exact same thing yearly, quarterly, monthly even, than all the charm, all the excitement is lost, after a while you're just getting that "been there done that" feeling, and you don't miss/crave anything because you know damn well next month there's gonna be a new entrance, then another one, and another... But hey, if there's a die-hard fanbase out there, then there's absolutely no reasons the companies shouldn't go for it, after all it's all about the money, Disney has found its cows so obviously they're gonna mike them to the very last drop.

Loser mentality in the sense that since everybody else now is getting a yearly dose of that IP love that you had........now it's old news or bad. I've had friends do this with rock bands and rappers all the time. When it was niche, it was cool. But when the masses love it and when the content starts to come out more often, those original fans get turned off by that group, person, or IP.

Personally speaking.....as long as the content is good to great, I don't care if a company pumps it out every year or multiple times per year. If I like something I don't need companies to keep it from me, just to create an artificial craving. Again, as long as they keep making the content good and diverse, then I'm all set. Milk it baby!!!! lol

Batllefront 2 was such a catastrophe that Battlefront 3 is dead and EA lost its exclusivity deal.
lol surrre Its soooo dead cause that deal, EA is now celebrating with 3 more Star Wars games /s

I don't buy that Battlefront 3 is "dead" cause of any deal, Disney ended the exclusivity, they did not end having the brand used by EA...

A rumor come out last year that Battlefront 3 wasn't being done based on some licensing thing regarding the cost, but clearly.....they lost exclusivity, THEY DID NOT LOSE THE RIGHT TO USE STAR WARS, I'm shocked people are still confused over this and trying to force this narrative as if to suggest that deal ending, is the result of all things under EA, I don't see enough there and you need to prove that man.

I think this has more to do with several things. DICE and the Battlefield IP. EA likely wants them focused solely on that. ReSpawn has just confirmed they are making a Star Wars FPS title and I believe that new title isn't Battlefront, but likely something else entirely and they didn't want some MP FPS by ReSpawn, out at the same time as some Star Wars FPS by DICE.

I think it makes sense to allow ReSpawn that time to do a new Star Wars FPS, allow DICE to fix Battlefield. I however don't see shit that suggest this has to do with that exclusivity deal. ie look at the fucking thread you are talking on sir *so much for that dead and lost bullshit btw* lol
Also further proof that Dice is in the shitter. Things are changing fast in the industry.

^

I think this has more to do with that then anything else. I think they are a solid team when all things are working, but they fucking can't have them doing Star Wars Battlefront, Battlefield, Mirrors Edge lol fucking chill. They were also doing all the frostbite stuff and working on other projects for that engine, I think its just too much and no one should be shocked at the flops and BFV launch, Battlefront 2 disaster etc.

So I'm ok with ReSpawn doing a new Star Wars FPS and DICE just focusing on Battlefield. They spread that team too thin and should have not been surprised by all the trainwrecks that happened last gen under them

Damn thats crazy.

Yea I'd leave for that too. People have kids, elderly parents and gran parents, or people with immune disorders etc. I've seen most places in IT simply have an option, but to try to force people to go back to the office while not actually making it a safer place or making sure everyone is cleared to come back is a massive red flag.
