Will Eat Your Children
- A Look at the entire Oddworld series, and the making of the games

Someone please please please type this up or something! Does it say anything about the company's future and if they're still doing that movie?

I'm with you here!

I love the oddworld series (back when it was on psone), didn't care for Munche's Odyssey, and never played strangers wrath

Hmm..
The next issue is coincidentally a few days after Leipzig (where some games will undoubtedly be revealed)

Alan Wake is a writer..so I assume he would take notes of some kind, during the game.
I'm going to go with an Alan Wake cover story on this one (even if the game is not at Leipzig).

I think it was moreorless confirmed AW won't be at leipzig. Since the team recently got back from holiday and haven't spoken to ms about arranging events. Or something like that.

I'd hit a new Bully.

Same here, also isn't Rockstar a Scottish company. Makes since that a dev team across the pond would be announcing something in an English magazine and not a Japanese Developer announcing something in an english mag.

Whats Space Invaders Get Even on the Wii?

Is it like Space Invaders Extreme?
It's a WiiWare game, looks nothing like Extreme. The video (which had a bunch of annoying stuff on screen all the time so it's hard to tell what was actually real) made it look like a cross between Destroy All Humans and Blast Corps. You fly around as a Space Invader UFO and launch invaders (in what appeared to be a big ball) at buildings from an overhead Blast Corps view. It looked pretty cool.

Bully was done by Rockstar Vancouver. I'm dying to know what their new game is tho as Bully is one of my all-time favs.

Sick of the avatar hype, I could fucking care less. The mii's, avatars, and homatars all look shitty compared to the in game models I'm used to on next-gen systems so I can't really be bothered with any of them. I'm shocked that MS and the gaming media are hyping these things up as game-changing.

More interested in actual dashboard features.

Isn't the notes page for LittleBigPlanet? Like when you design a level you want to write stuff down. I'm not even sure how it works, maybe it will be on a later cover when they do the actual review.

Isn't there some type of diary thing in oblivion to record all your quests, from this I am proposing a speculation that the issue will have Fallout on the cover.

Edit. Or Hotel Dusk. But that would never warrant a cover.

Loved Hotel Dusk, but I don't think it needs (or will get) a sequel.

But another adventure game by Cing? God yes. I hope they get to that after they're done co-developing Little King's Story.

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?

Have you had a chance to look at the LBP feature yet, TheGreatDave? Is there anything new/interesting or Edge impressions?

They did say they was working on a Wii game a while a go, could be Hotel Dusk Wii.

I think it's hilarious how serious people are getting over this Shenmue 3 thing, it was such an obvious joke. I love the game and want the sequel but i'm not getting angry about a joke.

It's pretty long (6 pages). I'll have a read now, but because I'm not as crazy in to it as you it's hard for me to know what's actually new.

I'll add as I read:

You have to unlock the ability to create stuff by playing through some single player levels.
"You can't make a Miyamoto level in 5 minutes, but you can make one in a weekend"
Although it's not a revolution the platforming game out of the box is "devastatingly effective"! - some of the purest 2D design we've seen since Super Mario World
Apparently the team has been able to make RPGs, complex platformers with multiple stages and hub worlds, puzzle games like Tetris and a version of Outrun, which simulates movement by moving painted strips of wood on hinges!

There's not that much else regarding the game itself, a lot about Media Molecule themselves. They're basically very modest, talk about how they want to keep the team small and that they've enjoyed working with Sony but are free to make future games wherever they want.

That's true, but any stuff that strikes you would be great if you get a chance to look at it..I'll hopefully have my issue soon :|

edit - Thanks :) I appreciate it particularly if you're not interested yourself. You don't have to read it just for GAF, only if you were going to! :)

I know the game's been out in Japan for a while and it is a remake, but if you don't mind could you summarize their hype for DQIV? It's easily my most anticipated game of the rest of the year, and there really hasn't been much on the NA version at all, anywhere. Thanks in advance.

It's a pretty short piece, half a page. Just says how the structure of the story is unusual, 6 chapters (one of which is new), each played with a different character, the final 2 chapters bring it all together. Early chapters deal with backstory. New version has a range of minigames accessed via a casino. There's changes to "smooth out" the game because of it's age, but random battles remain frequent, needs focused grinding.

After reading their Mario World comment I basically wanna save up and buy a PS3!

It's greatly appreciated. I'm looking forward to reading the article, but sounds promising for the story-mode game!

edit - do they indicate how much of the story mode they were able to play?

There's nothing specific. They just say they went in with low expectations and they were blown away.

you can say what you want about shenmue but it had on of the best soundtracks, ever. and also if the page is real, it could also lead to shenmue 1+2 remakes, for the wii.

There is absolutely no trace of Shenmue in the magazine.

I just read through the Time Extended (Super Metroid) and Oddworld stuff, both really good articles. Honestly, Edge really is so awesome.

I guess they don't like Mudkipz? Or don't they like roguelikes? Either way it seems a bit harsh.

So I've been totally out of the loop with LBP for awhile. I'm guessing there will be single player mode? How deep will it be? Not "Zelda Four Swords is MP but has SP", right?

If I'm going to buy the game, it would be for the SP.

There's 50 or so levels. Edge seemed impressed with them.
