All I know is that a dude just asked me to not like his posts. That has to be a GAF first. If whatever I was doing before led to the perception that my personal endorsement of one’s post is something to be ashamed of than I need to course correct, quickly.

I wanted to believe Jussie at the beginning. I still do. I admit that I rushed to judgment. It’s hard for me to believe he would lie about this. I hope he hasn’t.
Yeah I don't know why he asked you to do that. I wouldn't worry about it. You asked me to put you on ignore after all

Good on you for admitting that you rushed to judgment. Most people would double down or abandon thread.

A way to explain the injuries?

It seems like there is a lot of conflicting evidence in regards to the extent of his injuries. I wrote that thinking he had the broken rib and more severe injuries, but I guess I'll see if there is clarification.

You do realize me not agreeing with the current platform of the left isn't close minded right? Disagreement does not make one close minded.

Let's take the wall. Those currently in charge of the left call it racist and immoral.

I would argue the main beneficiary of the wall are those legal residents competing for unskilled labor. That is, reducing illegal immigration would directly benefit economically depressed communities. Therefore, despite the proclaimations of Pelosi, I would argue the position of the left is far more detrimental to race relations long term. It's absolutely fair for you to disagree with me on this, but my position is far from close minded, in fact, had you asked me two years ago, before I researched the topic, I would have been vehemently against the wall.

As for racism? Identity politics is literally the definition of racism. The way sandmann was piled on was the result if racist ideologues on the left pushing intersectionalism. The left is constantly pushing policy that literally divides along identity lines. That is racist and sexist. Northram arguing men should have no say in laws affecting abortion is pure sexism.

And destructive? Well, yeah. The fact that is left seems hell-bent on racing towards socialism is pretty destructive. We live in the most successful economy to ever exist. The standard of living is far higher than it's ever been, even for those in poverty. And you got politicians in power literally crying to tear it all down. That's destructive.

And this is coming from someone who has been somewhat anti-capitalist and very anti-corporate for a very long time. The left has lost all semblance of logic in the past few years. Hell, the push from safe, legal, and rare to what we see in ny and Virginia, etc, had pushed me even further from the left. That's because I'm willing to change my mind when presented with evidence. And the evidence right now is screaming out that the modern left has become legitimately dangerous.

As for trump? I'm happy with his govt transparency program. I'm very anti war, so I'm elated by his Syria and Afghanistan position. The economy is booming. His prison reform is decent. He's done more progressive things already than Obama, imho.

Far from close minded, I'm literally evidence that a far left anarcho-syndicalist can change his mind when presented with evidence.

So yeah, tell me how I'm close minded because I told someone they are wrong for wanting death over being remotely right on issues.
I could make a post as long and well made as this(maybe lol) about the right''s issues but that isn't the point I'm making, When one throws one side of the entire country under the bus becuase they disagree with them its close minded....it was when the left did this when Trump won and it is now when you do it too.....its inane. Also stop trying to tie it into

"So yeah, tell me how I'm close minded because I told someone they are wrong for wanting death over being remotely right on issues."

I called you close minded because of your left wing hate boner.

Maybe Jussie grabbed the wrong sandwich. If you’re expected Italian BMT and your boy shows up with a Teriyaki Chicken, I mean, you gotta throw hands.

No, sorry to joke too much. I believe Jussie, but unless some proof shows up then it seems pretty hard to explain

I called you close minded because of your left wing hate boner.

And again, hating the current platform of the left is not close minded. Refusing to evaluate it would be. But when you've got the evidence of all the very many candidates of the left that all are promoting the far left ideologies of socialism and intersectionalism, then yes, it's far to openly critique them.

And the pure irony of accusing someone of having a 'hate boner"' for the left in the face of how trump, sandmann, the Patriots, etc. Are treated is absurd. No, I just think intersectional politics are fascist, sexist, and racist, and they hide from these accusations by smearing their opposition with those terms.

You're more than welcome to keep calling me close-minded, but I'm pretty sure at this point that just illustrates your own lack of ability to recalibrate based on evidence.

Why do you have to believe anyone at this stage? Why is the saying “listen and believe” rather than “listen and investigate then prosecute if necessary”?

I didn't ask you to stop liking his posts, I was just pointing out that you had liked all of his posts despite him only insulting me. You're free to do as you do. Edit:eek:h, wait, he did? That's silly, I agree.

Hmm, I guess you made your point well enough, you are not close minded, Sorry for calling you close minded.

I have my problems with your stance..however I lack the ability or skill to prove how or why.
The last bit about the hate boner was a snide joke, don't worry I doubt it sincerely after reading your post, tho I'll apologize either way

The MAGA comments were not reported in his first contact with police.

Then TMZ reported the MAGA comments.

Then the police called him back and asked about the MAGA comments.

Then he adjusted his statement to include the MAGA comments.
Talk about the cart before the horse, when the PR slipped it out before the narrative. ;)

Not trying to pile on here, but I totally understand where @autoduelist is coming from. I think that the current dominant right is much closer to the classical liberal apex of the horseshoe than the current dominant left, which is far more focused on collectivist identity politics.

See for yourself.
No black eye. Not even any bruises even-though he was "viciously beaten by Trump supporters."

A way to explain the lack of bruises is more relevant question.

Why not just take the next step towards rationality and show some skepticism while the investigation takes place?
What's the point of exercising skepticism if not to poison the well of investigation should it's conclusion could go against the narrative so many of this thread are trying to push? When the thread started there were doubts that the attack was racial now we're up to doubt that it took place at all.

I guess I’m naive. I want to believe people. I’m pretty simple-minded.
I think most people are like that, and for this story to work that’s all you need. I don’t think there will be a gotcha moment where the guy is caught in an obvious lie that will discredit him enough to make people not believe him. And people that are suspicious can’t prove it didn’t happen. It’s set up well to never have investigative closure.

Consider that the fact that many people 'want to believe people' is the very reason more sinister people can take advantage of their nature.
Not to mention, when identity politics the last 7+ years have been drilling into people that certain demographics are "always a victim" no matter what, it does make it easier for sinister people within said demographics to bullshit and be instantly believed.

Hence the programming of #BelieveWomen and the like.

Losing sight that the onus is on the accuser. And it's getting even more crazy that when things aren't adding up, and the story is constantly changing, that people refuse to see that as red flags, due to said social conditioning.

i think someone mentioned they read that he waited 40 odd minutes because his manager was the one that convinced him to call the cops. Also if I had to guess TMZ was getting its info from the manager or someone else in the pr team.

If it were either an ex or a bad hookup, he probably didn't want anyone to get in trouble. but his manager needed a cover for his injuries, they could have made up the story and would have had to call the cops or it would have looked really weird. (TO REITERATE NOT SAYING THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED. ONLY SPECULATING ON WHY THE COPS WOULD HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IF IT WERE A COVER STORY).

Man you really gotta quick dogging yourself. You tend to do that when you either are second guessing yourself or being called out.

Seriously. I think in general people want to believe people they sympathize with. But there are just too many oddities in a lot of these cases and the media’s reporting of it. Having a healthy skepticism is a good thing.

Yeah. I've had a lot of difficulty with this myself.

Just be careful out there guys. I've been really glib in this thread, but I can not encourage healthy skepticism enough. Being willing to question even your own motives will benefit you endlessly in your life.

That is not to say that you can't trust anyone... it is just important to be willing to reassess situations no matter how obvious a fact may seem.

Skepticism is just the starting point. It doesn't mean you can't trust or believe, it just means you're more resistant to mental hijacking.

Just because someone does not like to be endorsed by you does not mean that you did something wrong. I mean, it is always good to be critical of oneself, but I got the impression, by this post and some others, earlier, that your perception of yourself is skewed negatively. I think you are a valuable poster and no general course correction is required. Be yourelf, post what you think and if someone does not like to get likes by you, well, that's their problem.

Nah fuck this shit. I'm tired of it. I have made every effort in this thread to update the OP as the situation evolved. Even responding to requests like I did above. And you people have done nothing but insult me, ridicule me and attack me every single step of the way. I'm tired of it. You people don't even try to follow the forum rules anymore when it comes to insulting or dog-piling other members

@Keylime @Bill O'Rights @DGrayson
Are you really crying to the mods yet again? You have earned your reputation around here and you wonder why people are not friendly with you or don't get along with you? You literally do not want to hear what others have to say, you pretend sometimes that you do but in the end you make it damn clear you are on one side of the fence and you will never allow yourself to see it from someone else's point of view because you are close minded plain and simple. I mean, look at your follow up replies today where you INSIST that no matter what this attack happened and there is no way it could not have happened despite there not being any proof so far of this ALLEGED attack other than a rope of some sort and a few scratches.

How is it an "alleged attack" if there is video of him arriving at his home with the rope around his neck, his clothes stained from the chemicals that were poured on him as well as the physical injuries he sustained during the attack? Injuries that were officially treated at a local hospital. Explain that to me.

Did he just kick his own ass pour bleach on himself and tie a rope around his neck for the shits and giggles?
he could well have,. there is as much evidence supporting this theory as there is for him being attacked.

therefore until proven, it is alleged. if youre still unsure please consult the oxford dictionary

Chicago Police Superintendent: 'Empire' Star Jussie Smollett 'WILL Be Held Accountable' If He Made A False Crime Report

"Sources close to the Chicago Police Department also tell The Daily Wire that police have filed a series of subpoenas in order to compel the production of Smollett's phone records from the night of the attack, a report apparently confirmed by CWB Chicago. "

"Police are also looking into the source of the rope Smollett says was placed around his neck during the attack. Initially, Smollett said the rope resembled a "noose," but upon closer examination, according to the Sun-Times, the rope appeared to be a thin "clothesline" which police believe came straight out of the package before it ended up around Smollett's neck (Smollett was still wearing the rope when police arrived to take his report, 45 minutes after the attack). Publicity. A public pity party. Drama. Political points.

Lots of reasons to do this as a c or d list celeb.
Also let us not forget.

"I got attacked andi it was a hate crime. But even though they almost killed me I rocked the house afterwards that is how great I am. The gay Tupac"

If there is nothing to this I hope he and his manager serves time in Prison.

Yeah, as said yesterday, since there’s no footage of an assault taking place, or
not taking place, I’m not sure how it could be proven he lied about attack: The phone record could potentially show he lied about a phone call, but that alone won’t prove the assault was a hoax.

If they can prove he bought the same rope that was on his neck, that would definitely be something

Well since it was a clothesline and someone threw some "chemicals" on him, maybe he was just getting ahead and wanted to hang his clothes out to dry ??

Sorry, not my best joke ...

I think the phone actually could prove it was a hoax actually. What if they discover a conversation of him with his manager setting this up?

I’m not disagreeing with you but it just seems so risky, to me, to risk your career, social/political cause credibility, and possible legal ramifications to fake this.

It’s possible, don’t get me wrong
I mean, Asia Argento got away with an affair, a dead boyfriend and fucking a 17 year old that she knew since he was a child, all because she was a "victim" of Harvey Weinstein (the man she dated for months off and on). Being a victim of even made up crimes gives you some thick ass plot armor.

And yes, I think Harvey is a creep and has a wake of victims behind him, but Asia certainly wasn't a victim.

Once a victim becomes an oppressor, you no longer serve the role of a victim, but rather that of the oppressor.

Didn't the manager specifically tell the police that he heard the attackers say this is MAGA country during the attack? If they determine that the manager was not even on the phone with him during the time of the attack, I'd be surprised if that couldn't go anywhere at least for him.

Yeah, that's what I'm getting at. That would be actual evidence that the manager lied to the police. I'm no lawyer, so I don't know if they can charge him with just that, but it doesn't sound outlandish that the manager could at least be in some trouble.

That's enough. He would have made a false statement to the police. Based on the extent of the deception and the resources expended chasing this nonsense, he/they can probably be charged with a felony. I imagine the DA would at least want them to cover the cost of the investigation.

Hmmmm, maybe

I dunno. Yes it kills his credibility, but I think a legal battle wouldn’t be cut and dry. Lying about the phone call doesn’t necessarily disprove the attack was real, on it’s own.

Then again I don’t know shit about law or how this shit really works

I didn't say anything about the attack. Making a false statement to the police is illegal. If there is no call, they made a false statement. They will pay.
