BTW just to let you US guys know: The WFC feature is regionlocked, again. The manual states that only PAL gamers are able to dive with PAL gamers. I doubt anyone's surprised by this after the Metroid Prime 3 debacle, really, but I wanted to throw it out there to help you guys avoid any disappointments later on.

I've got serious misgivings about Nintendos' stance on this issue - I can live with friendcodes, heck, even gamespecific ones, but why the fuck did they do that. This game would be PERFECT for promoting international bonding!
I mean, touching fish and aquatic mammals in inappropriate places after drawing huge glowing penises in the water is about the only peaceful approach at world peace that hasn't already been attempted. Damn you Nintendo and your archaic internet ways!

my take is nintendo want to limit the ensuing spread of STDs to one continent at a time.

not yet. ;) where's that one? in the deep part or somewhere else?

Did some exploring too, now I'm close to a 100% map. But tonight I'm back at the ruins, this part bothers me, wanna solve it. :D

btw: I found out that when guiding someone it's not needed to find the favorite fish to get a good result. Happened today when I guided someone who wanted to see Bower's parrotfish at the green garden. I only found the regular parrotfish there, ended up showing him every damn fish there till he was amazed. Got an A for the tour. :)

just finished another sesh on this - still loving it. ive only got about 1/3 of the map open but i must have spend a good 10 hours diving now. spent ages exploring the caves tonight. so lovely. I need to get more the map uncovered!

you are right about the guides - first time i got the italian model she wanted to see large-eyed something (forget the name now). i spent ages looking but hadn't seen one previously and couldnt find one. she was really into small fish tho so i showed her loads and she ranked me A.

In the first thread i watched the part 1 video and i thought it was cool. I'm definitely will buy it.


What was that about at the beginning where the two divers trying out new humping techniques. I LOLed! Took them a few seconds to pry them off!!!



Here in the US which name are we getting: Forever Blue or Endless Ocean?

I like the title name Endless Ocean.

I managed the ruins.

There's this one room where the water doesn't reach to the ceiling. Swim outside on top of the room and interact with a "crack" to let the water in and use the tunnel to find the last plate.

And, I feel really stupid. It took me 15 hours to realize that you can move your boat anywhere and not only towards those round icons. :lol

And maxmars, I found a cassette but not the player :]

I took a little time off the ruins to explore the map. Many interesting places.. I found all the whales and even
another ship.. Would that be the ghost ship?? Too bad I was on my range limit, argh!

Now I can be a good host in multiplayer, lots of stuff to dive into and have a look, play.. Can't wait to dive with someone else!

Oh and I found the cassette, too, it is seemingly working, but nothing to play it on either. :p

I think that's it. You can swim in there
then it takes you to another nice place with lots of sharks and a ship wreck.

That was my own, personal meltdown. Don't mind me.
Basically MP3 works the same way, PAL gamers cannot exchange vouchers with players from another region - they just go to waste in case you try it anyway.
Given how important those vouchers are that's a pretty brain-dead decision. Nothing beats the coming Photo channel update though. NOTHING. :lol

I just thought I'd let people know that the game is only £16 on Virgin Megastores. Use it with the code: VMD1234 and you might be able to get it for £14.40. The code's suppose to be for Virgin credit card users but I've used it with a Visa Debit before just fine. The game's not what I'd usually go for but at that price I might just bite.

Picked this up yesterday and then lost 6 hours of my life playing it, very relaxing and addictive. For the price its a steal, go get it. Still have not managed to dive with anyone else yet but have added all the guys in the online matchup thread, looks to me like the online is like Animal Crossing, leave your gate open for someone to join you if they see yours is open?

Anyway i'll hopefully get time on it later but i'm calling in on the local gameshop after work incase he's got Mario on the shelves early so I may be a while ;-)

Yes that's it.. I also think that any specie or item found only affects the host; slaughterking dived with me on my island and although he found several species that night, none is now on his encyclopedia.

Between Mario Galaxy and family stuff (daughter's concert, dinners, the likes) I don't think I'll be able to play until next week but this only means you can play catch up in the mean time. :)

Yeah, my daughters at her mums this weekend so i can get some beers, sink into the sofa and slob all weekend with Mario and and a few dips in the ocean without getting harrassed and thrown off the Wii.

Oh, and maybe i'll get to the pub for a few drinks too :D

You know what you just did? 15 minutes ago I ran out and bought this game.

Since it shipped yesterday I was actually expecting SMG to arrive today (Euroland) but when the mail came and no Mario was in sight I went ballistic and hated the world. Then I saw these pics, a strange calm swept over me and I saw it clearly. I had to run out and buy it right away. So I did and now I will soon drown in the endless ocean.

Looking forward to explaining this one to my girlfriend later today.

i'm all into the game of the forever (you know what i'm talking about, c'mon) right now and i fear that after beating it it will be hard to go back to standard *games* -even if they are as good and unique as this one- but looking at these pics i have a question...
WHAT is that black?
Can you dive into the abyss?!?
I know it's physically impossible, but one of my dreams would be going under there and looking at those glowing alien-like creatures that live in the abyss... Are you able to do that in the game?!?!!?!
And please don't tell me there's a giant squid (architeuthis dux) in Endless, i could die in joy.

Yeah, you certainly could. It's one of my favourite areas (only bested by a certain hidden area) in the game - first time I went there it was to the sound of Wrecked Ship from the Relics of the Chozo remix album. Very spooky :lol

Yup, you can dive down the abyss. It's one of many extra areas in the game. ("Crevasse to Abyss") There is a loading screen between the blue and black, unfortunately, but it's no big deal. This game is very impressive. It's huge, over 200 species, everything random at night and day. I'm constantly surprised.

Also, the fact that I can play with the remote in one hand and a smoke (drink, snack) in the other is fucking awesome.

I still haven't finished MP3. And tomorrow is Mario Galaxy day...

I got one while exploring one cave in the abyss.. I was with lights down in the room so I almost got a heart attack when this huge thing came out to check me. Bleh!

By the way, did you get the game already?

Has anybody found a way to get the name of some of the fishes in the abyss? I ran out of ideas. No mather what I do, they won't tell me :( Someone told me you should bring some fish that already like you along, but I still haven;t succeeded. Suggestions?

Don't expect to get their name every single time at first. The name comes out only when the animal gets acquainted with you so if you really care about it, use everything you've got all the times you see that animal (a couple "resisted" me at least twice each).

In the abyss a good number of smaller fishes are curious about the "crayons". Draw small cups where the fishes can stay, e.g. half circles open on the bottom.

try the Lightpen and feeding. worked for me. I also had many Fish companions; but I think it was the lightpen.

Game-specific, unfortunately. I think you'll find that for pretty much any game that involves playing together online (as opposed to Big Brain Academy or Metroid Prime 3 where you're simply exchanging records/vouchers) you will have to deal with another unique FC.
