I don't have the Wii U version, but here are 1080p Switch captures without any JPG compression/artifacts or subpar blurry resizing like the examples being passed around.

4K versions for comparison's sake (2x resolution with bicubic filtering to mimic a typical HDTV's slightly blurry upscale processing)

I'll make sure that my new PC will be able to run this flawlessly when it's ready. :)

I'd be fine with 30fps but 4k is a must. Those screens are amazing.

What's Cemu's interface like? Does it look thrown together by a programmer like 95% of emulators?
Probably won't use it until it reaches dolphin levels of usability.

Damn this stuff is moving so quickly.
I almost wish I didn't beat the game 2 days ago, but really I don't.

I played this game so much (151 hours) I don't think I have it in me to start all over again for a while, but hopefully all the little kinks will be worked out by the time I get around to trying this. I still gotta learn how to dump Wii U games. I'm guessing it's not any harder than dumping Wii/Gamecube games.

Man, even if I could get a steady 30 that would be great. Having the game just freeze on me for a couple seconds every now and then (even in combat) really sucked.

There's a single digit number of options you need to worry about, essentially just one, and they're all handled in the menu bar.

Here's the most complicated window you'll run into.

That sounds like less of a head ache than the dreamcast emulator I use. I have to check this out.

Awesome work buddy, now here's hoping someone else can provide similiar CEMU screenshots for comparison.

I figure the one in the menu with the stealth gearset shouldn't be too hard to replicate.

Isn't it a bit of a misnomer to say that shrines and runes are working? I was looking into this like two or three days ago and Magnesis and a couple physics things like collisions were still broken.

Unless those breakthrough were what prompted the article.

I've got a switch copy now after finishing it already on the Wii U but i'm feeling like I might want the convenience of running it on my pc instead.

Cemu / standard drives cant read the wii u disc or can they?

I'm not surpised that so much progress has been made in only a couple of weeks though, there is a lot more incentive for the emulator team from fervent zelda love then to get the emulator running XCX

Didn't the 3ds emu Citra get a huge push right before / around Majora's Mask 3d?

Grass, water, runes (magnesis and stasis) are fixed in 1.7.4 which comes out April 2nd. Only big things that don't work (that we know of) are FMVs and the camera rune, iirc.

I don't think there are any standard bluray drives that read Wii U discs, you have to rip them from an actual Wii U. I don't know how long XCX took to emulate, but it's about 95% there IMO. Other than occasional framedrops, and no FMVs, I think everything works.

You can use the WiiU gamepad perfectly? Even the gyro and all that? It uses Bluetooth right? When CEMU gets better I wanna try connecting both my WiiU gamepad and my Pro Controller on a single Bluetooth stick if that's possible.

The closeup shot in the field should be easy to replicate too. I have an alternate where Link is a bit further back and looking right at the camera.

Yeah, the UI is fine, unassuming, a little limited in features if anything. It would be nice if that controller config UI automatically progressed to the next assignment, but otherwise it's good enough.

I can't wait for the emulation to be perfect in terms of performance. I want 1080p60. I'd settle for hard 1080p30 if that's not possible. But I don't have a display with a higher resolution than that, though. More importantly, is there an in-depth tutorial anywhere for porting your save file from the Wii U version of the game to the emulator?

This is fantastic news.

Waiting to play Breath of The Wild at 4K with a proper controller.

Will be well worth the wait.

Comparison using Mega's screen (use firefox or apng extension for Chrome)

Thanks. Your comparison maintains 100% of my original capture's quality (no added compression), but it messes with the color tones in a negative way: image changes from a nice warm tone to a muted/faded green hue.
