Europe: Rising Star Games (VLR's EU publisher) not publishing Zero Escape 3

In response to the many enquiries for Zero Escape 3 we must advise that sadly RSG is no longer involved in discussions to publish the title.

Posting this as news because it is notable since RSG has been handling almost all of Aksys' games for 3DS in Europe. RSG published Virtue's Last Reward in Europe and would have been the natural choice for Zero Escape 3. This is kind of a big head-scratcher now. Is Aksys gonna do it eShop-only over here? Will someone else step in? Will Spike Chunsoft do it themselves?

Oh shitttttttttttt. Does this mean it's not coming to EU at all (For now) or some other publisher snapped it up? Which is odd as RSG handled the last two games.

Glad I pre-ordered the ZE3 with watch from amazon if only for the watch, if it isnt coming here at all.

Holy crap! Today's real megaton is that more than two people can have the same first name.
It's at time like this where I'm glad I have a Vita and an American 3DS.

Don't care. I will import it with fury eating customs and all unless the delay in EU is something like 3 days.

Well I imported a NA version of VLR anyway seeing they didn't pay up for the rights to the English dub.

So maybe the new pub will actually release a product I want to buy.

Let's look at the
potential
bright side:

Someone else will pick it up, and we'll have the English dub this time.

At least the Vita is region free. In hindsight, I should have imported VLR as well. Stupid EU release without the English dub. And even worse, you couldn't turn the Japanese voice-track off.

Hmm, really strange since RSG knew about the teaser. Did negotiations break down because Aksys and SC demand too much money? Did they demand dual audio and RSG wouldn't comply?
Did we even get any numbers for VLR in Europe or at least whether the game met expectations or not?

As long as it gets published in Europe, released physically, and the Japanese dub is included, then I don't care who is behind bringing it over.

If by the last two games you mean both versions of VLR. The DS version of 999 never came out over here (the iOS novel version did though).

I think you forgot that 999 never came out in Europe.

There goes the physical copy.

You are aware that NISA is happily releasing physical copies of games, right? Even for ultra niche stuff. Let me just point at Rodea the Sky Soldier which even gets a limited edition on Wii U and 3DS in Europe. Not sure what you're saying or did you confuse them with ATLUS for some reason?

They have a version of the ZE3 website for the EU version, they wouldn't bother if it wasn't happening: http://zero-escape.com/europe/. No reason worry to worry. Although it is odd that RSG aren't the publisher, especially since they made a few tweets regarding the teaser whilst that was going on.

As long as we actually get both dubs this time.

weird, considering how they had their fun with fans during the teaser.

This might mean there's a chance for European watch editions though if a bigger company handles the game this time.

NO reason to push the panic button so far , but i hope we know who is in charge for the Europe release soon.

Because depending on who it is , i might import.

Oops. Yeah you're right. Not sure if they handled the iOS version... (Where the hell is the android version!)

sorry to ask, but is the english dub a really big deal to you guys?

maybe it's the otaku in me speaking right know, but whenever i have the chance i always switch to the japanese dub...

For you.
There goes the physical copy.

? If NISA can publish a physical copy of Hyperdimension Neptunia PP in Europe I have no doubts they can do the same for a game that has a much bigger audience. They have no issues having physical versions even for the most niche things ever.

It always depends on the quality of the dub. VLR had a pretty damn good English dub.

It's definitely the otaku. The English dub is quality and I'm still very disappointed that I never got to experience it.

Options are always good as preference for english or japanese dub seem to be 50/50 from my experience

I imported VLR anyways since the EU version was worthless due to not having the dub.

Would have done the same here.

Maybe there'll be a decent EU version now.

It really depends on the game for me- I'm not someone who'll be annoyed about a game not having the Japanese voice track (unless a voice actor I really like was involved, like Sugita) but I will sometimes use them. More importantly, though, VLR's English dub was fantastic so I can definitely understand being disappointed about not getting it.

I might have got my publishers mixed up. Who is it that pretty much never does physical EU releases on vita, Xseed or Atlus maybe?
Yeah both of them, but the only publish games here that they published in the US themselves so it won't be them anyway.

NISA are the #1 publisher of japanese niche games in EU and pretty much do everything physically
XSEED don't, but they do have Marvelous Europe these days to pick up a small amount of their releases (like they did with Corpse Party Blood Drive).

Which you then can preorder exclusively from their store for 60€...

On the one hand: PLEASE someone pick this up.

On the other hand: Whoever does might have enough money for the dub this time.
There goes the physical copy.
wot. NISA is god tier for physical releases in Europe. I love 'em. Love 'em love 'em love 'em.

Weird. I wonder what happened? Ah well, I'm sure someone will pick it up. It's hot property right now - but even if no one does pick it up the Vita being region free will save the day! **hugs vita**
