I won 5000 dollars for second place in a juried art contest. I’ve never tried to play the lotto or gambled though, never understood the appeal.

I used to play poker pretty frequently. I had some winning nights, some losing nights. I’ll be honest, more losing nights than winning nights, but a couple nights I just got hit with the deck and was flopping monsters against smaller monsters way too often.

Other than poker I never really played other table games or slots

I found 5 bucks on the ground on my birthday when I was a kid. I "won" a dollar in a scratch off yesterday.

At the harness track. Had $100 to win on a horse named "Fast N' Loose" and she was 24-1. She snuck up the rail in the stretch and won by a nose. Both my buddy and I had the bet, and won $2400 bucks each. We ate steaks and went to a strip club....blew about a grand of it that night.

My other big one was hitting a $1200 trifecta. I had been planning for a long time to buy an RC car and go get into RC racing. I was super excited to buy my RC-10. The next day my brakes went out on my real car, and I had to spend the money on that instead. Never did get my RC car or do RC racing.

I think the first time I won money was at a Mortal Kombat II tourney at a local game shop. I think it was like $50. Then in college I won $400 at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Florida the same day I learned I got my dream job. That was a pretty awesome day. I also won (and lost) a bunch of money playing poker with friends in college. I was able to pay for a few months rent at one point, but overall I was probably about even.
