I'm not surprised I'm not on the wall of shame this time. I've only been following 4 shows so far and all of them are just shounen action shows, so there's not much to say about them.

Hajime No Ippo Rising

Those are the only 2 shows I'm watching that's new this season. The other is One Piece and HxH2011. I'm planning on starting up Blazblue one day but I never felt like diving in.

Honestly, don't.

5 episodes in and it's been a piss poor adaption for anyone familiar with the games.

And the way they've managed to mishandle the story of CT/CS, makes it's all sorts of confusing for any newcomers who've never played the games before.

Lots of things just happen in stories for the convenience of the plot, its true. Its when your make your characters behave like idiots to bring about that plot twist that it becomes an issue.

So it's not the plot twist but the inconsistency of character.

Went to the biggest food store we have here to see if we have any Häagen-Dazs. Turns out we do, which was fairly surprising. But it's 6,70€ for 475ml! Any other brand costs less than 2€ for that amount.

What I'm saying is the effect product placement in anime has on me frightens even myself.

I couldn't believe this garbage when I watched it, and was tempted to drop the show. I was still in school at the time and it was a long morning the day after with me and my friend who was also watching not sure what to say to each other, until he turned to me and just said "why?".

We both hugged and started to cry.

Lulouche saying something completely stupid and out of character, and his Geass conveniently choosing to go out of control at that exact moment.

The chosen phrase was overly convenient, because it's a crazy twist, but Lelouch's attitude isn't out of character. Contrived, sure, but claiming there was no foreshadowing is totally false. You could even make a collage of things from that episode and the previous one which tell you stuff's going to go wrong.

I havent seen commentary for code Geass and Im not sure if the DVD set has it. WIll have to look. If it does I might have to watch it that way. I love when directors are like "We just felt like doing this for the lols".

Though Im no anime sales guru, but why do they track first volume sales, is there much information there versus just the series average as a whole?

I think because initial interest in V1 roughly shows the sales average, since its mainly otaku buying and they tend to loyally follow and purchase a series past V1. Its not so accurate for US sales because people often blind buy V1 and then decide to drop a series.
