This should begin the week of 2007-12-31 and must go through the week of 2008-06-23. We've only had up through the week of 06-16 on the web yet, so this gives us a preview. For those of you dying to know how much Link's Crossbow Training sold that week: 3,060.

What I'm waiting to see is if Super Mario 64 DS makes the top 100. It made the mid-year Top 100 in 2005, 2006, and 2007. However, in the back half of last year it only sold 27K, so I think it will have finally sputtered out. (Until it shows up in the 2008 Top 500)

And actually, if you count the first Monster Hunter Portable and its budget rerelease as one total, it becomes #3. Otherwise it comes in #4 behind Crisis Core.

Either this is a mistranslation, or it was mistranslated previously. I know I hadn't seen a MHP2 rerelease make the list before, so I went to see if I'd missed it in the 2007 Top 500. In that place, with the anticipated 73,318 sales, was Monster Hunter Portable (BEST Reprint).

For months prior we'd been watching as they got closer and calculated how many weeks it would be until DS passed PS2... then DS slowed down from "insane" to "great" and it took a couple months longer than I thought it would.

It's funny, since in Famitsu MHP2G > Wii Fit LTD but Media Create is the other way around. Must be close, I guess.

Actually, this makes me less sure of that. I might have missed some appearances in more recent monthly charts or something, but the last I've got of it in Garaph is 893,713 as of late March. It's at 912,746 as of this chart, so an additional 19,033 over 12 weeks for an average of 1,586 per week. Maintaining that rate it'd be more than a year away.

I thought SMG would pass up SM64DS since it started stronger, but it doesn't seem to have the same legs. At this point in its life, SM64DS was selling twice as well.

- We get confirmation that DMC4 passed 300k.
- A lot of sports games had legs (unsurprisingly I suppose).
- COD4 on the PS3 either broke 100k (if its December sales aren't included in that 90k) or will break 100k in the future. Pretty impressive for a Western game that debuted at under 25k (at least on the Famitsu charts). It may end up surpassing Disgaea 3 LTD.

Based on its placement in the list that looks like only for this year. So adding in its first week number we know from last year's Top 500, it should be up to about 110K.

Why Nintendo isn't developing a new 2D Mario for the DS? Why damn it?

Anyway, what really scares me is that Nintendo has sold more then 10 millions games, without a single new DS game. And we all know that DS games were selling like crazy in past 2-3 years. Shit: they're only Wii and DS games that came out in 2005/2006. In other words, about the DS, they're living with old stuff. Crazy.

If Nintendo developed quick* sequels to every multimillion seller they have... from all the sequels they'd be working on we'd probably not have worked our way to the Pikmins of new IP, let alone Captain Rainbow.

A game in a front-loaded genre, on a console as unsuccessful as X360, selling to more than 10% of the userbase in year two... dreaming, man.

It sold 91K in 2007 and was up to 104K by February. By now it might have overtaken the #2 X360 spot from DOA4.

considering the lack of jrpgs on the PS3, it makes sense that people would build this up to be something more amazing then it actually is. Reminds me of Tales of Symphonia for GCN.

COD4 also has a new Game of the Year version out in Japan that should boost sales a bit.
