Konami always has been huge in Japan, just like Sony. They have huge presence in mobile and both have ignored the Console market.

Why not? This is video game forum where anyone could participate in discussing a tiny pixel to the sales of hardware especially when Japan is the only country that's currently handing out accurate sales information for free.
I'm not saying it's wrong, but would it be more impactful if it was say monthly results or quarterly?

Great to see Sakuna reappear in Taiwan, game is doing well across Asian market and is only limited by the amount of physical stock publishers can provide.

Interestingly in Taiwan Age of Calamity is performing far stronger compared to South Korea and especially Japan.

Age of Calamity Taiwan / South Korea / Japan
Week 47: 1st / 1st / 2nd
Week 48: 1st / 2nd / 3rd
Week 49: 3rd / 5th / 12th
Week 50: 5th / - / 12th
Week 52: 2nd

There seems to be some other regional differences like New Horizon not being in the Top 5 during the last 10 weeks in Taiwan, which is surprising.

New Revision for Switch and price drop for current models is the most logical step for Nintendo to maintain the momentum of Nintendo Switch right now.
Just one of the two could be enough. Especially in Japan.
ROTW Switch 2021 should fall well behind 2020 tho.

Ps5 and XS will have an impact. People love new tech and those are.

  11. Pokemon Sword / Shield ~ ?
  12. Sakuna of Rice & Ruin ~ ?
TOTAL: ~722K
Hardware TOTAL: ~278K

Top 10 Week 52, 2019:
  1. Pokemon Sword / Shield - 243.476 (-16%)
  2. Luigi's Mansion 3 - 59.349 (-25%)
  3. Ring Fit Adventure - 52.521(-8%)
  4. Minecraft - 40.905 (-2%)
  5. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - 40.883 (+8%)
  6. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games - 40.866 (-19%)

  9. Super Mario Party - 34.649 (+8%)
  10. Fishing Spirits - 33.623 (-13%)
Top 5 TOTAL: 616.353
Hardware TOTAL: 234.268

Overall despite no game the size of Sword / Shield - Momotaro, New Horizon & Ring Fit would actually provide greater holiday sales this quarter. With the evergreens also achieving some great results. Ring Fit in particular continues to be supplied constrained so it's demand should drive momentum together with New Horizon, Momotaro and a string of big titles until Monster Hunter Rise launches.

Momotaro has defied expectations this holiday season and is only 200K shy of Sword / Shield's holiday sales.

Momotaro vs Pokemon Sword / Shield December

Week 49: 115.884 vs 201.838
Week 50: 166.774 vs 231.578
Week 51: 209.123 vs 288.199
Week 52: 267.000 vs 243.476
TOTAL: 758.781* vs 965.091

It will probably achieve bigger sales compared to Sword / Shield's 2020 sales.
The main reason for this is that I anticipate Momotaro will have smaller drops in the coming quarters as the game was a much smaller launch compared to the huge 1.36M Pokemon opening.

Q1 2020, Pokemon Sword / Shield - 554.390
Q2 2020, Pokemon Sword / Shield - 104.580
Q3 2020, Pokemon Sword / Shield - 105.667
Q3 2020, Pokemon Sword / Shield - 222.154*
TOTAL: ~1.000.000

Next Quarter I think Momotaro will be above 700K, taking it's total sales close to 2 million physical, becoming the biggest Konami game when you add digital sales with over 2.5 million.

Huh, really? I know they have huge business in the casino market but I can't think of any Konami titles that are big in even Japanese scene coverage. (That said, my first reaction to this thread headlineing "Nintendo and Konami domination" was "Konami??!" until I saw Momotaro Dentetsu and remembered that there was one of those out that we would never have heard of here.) They've also been farming out a few old franchises like Contra to Chinese mobile makers, although that brand's best days seem far behind it and either way that's not making them huge in Japan.

Are you just purely talking PES deck management and something like YuGiOh? (Both are over 50m installs.) I don't see many other active apps on the Konami Mobile Listings that would be big generators, but I don't know if there are apps not included on that page?
