What about the scores of NINTENDOGS and ELECTROPLANKTON?

Aren't they going to review them?
Thanks.

Snowball

No, because they're not games. Nintendo has made this very clear themselves, so Famitsu would have no reason to "review" them as they're not games but seem as software instead.

Quick Vivarium gameography...

-The Tower II/Yoot's Tower (PC) 1998/1999 Sega
-Seaman: Forbidden Pet (DC) 1999/2000 Sega
-Christmas Seaman (DC) 1999 Sega
-Seaman: Kindan no Pet 2001 (DC) 2000 Sega
-Seamail (PC) 2001 Vivarium
-Seaman: Forbidden Pet (PS2) 2001 ASCII
-Seaman: Kanzenban (PS2) 2003 D3 Publisher
-The Tower SP (GBA) 2005 Nintendo
-Odama (GC) 2005 Nintendo

...and before that, Yoot Saito's company Open Book 9003...

-The Tower/Sim Tower (PC) 1993/1994 Open Book 9003/Maxis Software
-The Tower (3DO) 1996 Open Book 9003
-The Tower (SS) 1996 Open Book 9003
-The Tower: Bonus Edition (PS) 1996 Planning Office Wada
-The Tower/Sim Tower (Mac) 1997 Maxis Software

...with Nintendo and Vivarium so chummy, I hope we see The Tower and Seaman make it to DS. Both are almost perfectly suited to the machine.

What is the Tower series like? Doesn't look very import friendly.
It's SimTower. I've only ever played the PC version, but touchscreen plus the vertical alignment would work well with DS. I hope Nintendo brings the GBA port over.

I second the ARE YOU SERIOUS sentiment john had. If that's the case, AC should never have been reviewed. Plus possible good reviews of ElectroPlankton could have prevented it from bombing :(

Yeah. I'm not sure if this has changed but previously Nintendo had an entire seperate section on their Japanese DS site for these non-games, including Nintendogs, the dictionary, etc. As for why Famitsu isn't reviewing them, I can only think of that as a reason, and it seems as good as any!

ah well.... the target audience of nintendogs is gurls so I doubt that many would pick up Famitsu and read a review. If things are as Johntv mentioned; that there is a huge marketing push for Nintendogs, we'll see soon enough how well this game paid off. They must be confident though. All the plushies/bags and 3 different game boxes.

Ok guys I found the url.

http://www.touch-ds.jp/news/new_lineup/index.html

This is Nintendo announcing their "brand new type of entertainment software" line up for the DS. There's no doubt that Nintendo -is- actually branding and marketing these as "alternative entertainment" and not as "games". The genre for ElectroPlankton was "media art" and Nintendogs is "communication". If you actually read the press and websites for them you'll notice that never once is "game" mentioned. I'm not trying to bash the games, simply pointing out how Nintendo has been marketing them. :(

I see you took the smart route this week and just decided not to post unconfirmed numbers. :D

Now can we PLEASE stick Nintendogs back in the Off-Topic Forum, suckers?
It'd be a fair move if all Blu-ray/HD-DVD/Cell topics followed I think. As is stuff like Nintendogs, Electroplankton or Talkman seem more closely "gaming" related than out of context technology threads.
