Buying the overall inferior product by choice, that late in the legacy era of its lifecycle when exactly them get the Switch2 basically subsidized by Europe and Murica.... pure stupidity.
switch 1 oled has a vastly better screen, battery life and more portable. as a handheld switch 2 is not really that much better when you factor that in.

For quite some time you didn't saw that amount of PS5 games appearing, let alone one being at top. Probably will not last long though.
I'm happy for Yakuza though, great franchise.

They're not subsidizing it, they're just not allowing the weakened yen to affect the local pricing. It's still a big price hike vs the original Switch. Like do you think if the USD drops tomorrow 50% compared to Eur or whatever then all the products, not just whatever they wanna import every day from EU, will be priced 50% more overnight? If you still wanna consider that subsidizing then they get it the exact same way for Switch 1 anyway (and the PS5 digital base model too, the disc model to a smaller degree) so that still wouldn't be the deciding or stupid factor for choosing one or the other. Naturally they also don't get paid more yen domestically to account for the drop in its value internationally so these are all still very expensive products for them, having the prices hike in accordance with that would mean they're prohibitively expensive for them and simply not worth the cost.

Obviously if the yen does recover things also aren't gonna become cheaper there overnight in the same way. Might as well claim the EU subsidizes the US pricing of all consoles, lol, $940+ for a PS5 Pro (even vat doesn't account for the whole difference).

I wonder if some of these latest Nintendo games failing to debut as high as their predecessors or debuting high but lacking legs if it's because of how expensive game prices are right now? (not just a Nintendo issue but they do have the most expensive prices for first party currently)

I think we are gonna see video game sales and consoles slow down for 2026 everywhere.

Shocked by the gigantic DQVIIR drop. Did it go too far smoothing things out and word of mouth got out?

Mario Tennis franchise is showing it's fatigue already.

Which is a shame because this game is a really great package. Mario Tennis 3DS and Aces left a bad taste in my mouth and that's without even touching that Wii U version. I think the reviews judged this too heavily and harshly on the adventure mode. Not to mention I wonder if the reviewers even got to play online as extensively as the average player?

There is so much more to single player and especially online where you would be spending the vast majority of your time. For those who pick it up later on the cheap, your future self will thank you.

Yup. I'm in no rush to get it. I'll get it on a sale at Target or Walmart, down the road.
Instead of milking the Mario Sports spin-offs to death, Nintendo should really revive their legacy titles. I'd much rather see a new 1080° Snowboarding, Excitebike, or Wave Race than another entry in the tired Mario sports catalog.
