FNBC : What changes were made in Career Mode?
intoccabile : A lot actually. The biggest thing is how to become a pro. You start off as an amateur as usual, but theres huge changes. You can have An unlimited amount of amateur/underground fights... hell... you probably dont even need to turn pro, i havnt checked that out yet. People look at your amateur fights, and you get offers for sponsors and promotions eventually, that will help you out big in the long Run when you become a pro. Aside from the huge step up on that area, theres a new way to prep for fights. Making weight is crucial this year. You can always make weight, you'll never miss it... but what this minigame does is allow you to choose how you want to make weight. Sparring, Bags, Dummy, Running, all this effects your attributes for the next fight, determining how much faster, slower,
stronger and weaker you'll be before your next fight. Aside from that theres the rivalries you can make, which I think are wack, but oh well... and the weigh-in minigame that gets repetitive.
FNBC : How does the fight scheduling work in Career Mode. Can we fight every week unlike Fight Night Round 2?
intoccabile :Nah, but you do fight a lot more though thats the good thing. But you dont have any control over how often you fight and how fast you age, EA dropped the ball there again.
FNBC : Can we still create a boxer and put him through Career mode?
intoccabile :Yehp, and you can still go through the career with a current fighter too. Also, I think you can unlock guys. In some of the weight classes there are open slots that instead of fighters are shadows of a fighter.. I'm not sure if this is a problem with the build I have (still early?) or if this means you can fill in the blanks by finishing career mode in those certain weights.. I'm unsure.
FNBC : During Career Mode, can we watch a fight on the boxer I am about to go against to see his weakness and strengths?
intoccabile :Yeh, That s*** is hot too haha. Am I allowed to curse? Oh well, F*** it. Anyway. The videos are kind of weak, but the fact that they are there is just damn nice. When you choose the opponent you want to fight next, you can look at his stats and/or a short clip of the guy in action. and when you do it for a real fighter, theres a commentator that gives you the run down of his strengths and weaknesses.
FNBC : When fighting in Career Mode, do you fight against made up people or real boxers?
intoccabile :Made up people. But you run into the real fighters a lot more this year. All the real guys are on the top of the rankings. The real guys hold the championships this time.
FNBC : How long can you fight in career mode, age, injuries play a factor?
intoccabile unno, I havnt gon through the entire career mode yet. Yeh, age will still play as a factor. I havnt seen this yet, but you hear the trainers say s*** like fight as much as you can before you get old champ. S*** like that hints at age taking a factor. you can injure yourself while training and this may affect you in some ways during your next fight
FNBC : Can I retire and make a comeback in career mode?
intoccabile :Good question, I'll have to check that out. But I doubt it...
FNBC : Will belts be with you when you walk to the ring?
intoccabile :So far Ive only seen one built being worn. I have 2 titles, and when I choose which title to defend he wears that belt. I'll have to go through the unification matches to see if he'll come out with all of them, but I only have 2. and there are still no real belts No IB or WB.
FNBC : When boxers enter the ring does it display their records and fight stats?
intoccabile :Nah, they didnt go that far yet. But online, during player select screen you can see the record of the guy your facing by pressing the left shoulder button. and his rank is under the fighters name (if he has a rank).
FNBC : Do styles really have a meaningful impact on the fight? How is the stamina?
intoccabile :As far as styles go, they play huge rolls. Theres a variety of different punch and movement animations on top of a number of actual styles thats pretty cool..but do they affect the fight? Ugh... right now I've only really played the CPU.. the few guys on xbox live are on it merely for testing and pause a lot to jot down good or bads so the only thing i can notice about styles making a difference is that some styles are so much better than others. The games lacking balance. I wont know until I play a really skilled MUMMY FIGHT or a really skilled WILD puncher just how accurate the styles are in terms of how they make a fight.. but right now all I can say is.. lots of styles.. and some are just so much better than others. Looks like a lot of guys might have customs with 1 style online. Stamina is good then bad. I like how working the body affects the stamina, too many power punches or just too much wild swinging
affects the stamina too. But I hate how running still doesnt hurt your stamina much, and if your swinging a lot, but landing most of your shots you still dont get as fatigued. Guys get tired beating the hell out of someone in real life all the time....
FNBC : How does the weigh-in work? Can you beat someone up during the weigh-in?
intoccabile :Weigh in is wack in my opinion, and it gets real repetitive. you start doing the same s*** over and over again.. but you only get the weigh in thing for big events so it doesnt annoy you too much. It works aight, nothing big. ESPN presentation, you hear commentators give you he run down on the guys weighing in.. a lot of the s*** they say is bull s***, its just some random s*** EA has preset for anyone.. nothing they say is accurate. With the touch of a couple buttons that pop up on the screen you can start some s***. Push, Punch, slap, tackle, only thing they missin is the bite. I know damn well they put that s*** in there cause mike went reckless on
lewis.. so why cant I bite peoples legs?
FNBC : How does the gameplay feel compared to fight night round 2?
intoccabile :Realistic, lol. The games speed has increased a lot from the demo, but its still not round 2 status, but certain styles make you feel so much quicker. In terms of overall gameplay my personal opinion I think its missing some stuff. I dont like this retarded parry time, and theres just a lot of other gripes I got with the game.. but its definitely a step a more simulated direction.
FNBC : How is the parry system?
intoccabile :Wack....as....all....hell....The parry times are ridiculously long. It's bad enough the parry itself is unrealistic if your trying to make a sim.. but why make it so god damn long? That s*** really pisses me off. The few things they did right there are how much more skill it takes to block/parry punches now. They make it crucial to use the regular blocks now. Because if you miss a parry, by parrying the wrong side.. you get hit now. So you gotta block regularly a lot now, and be real accurate with your parries. Parrying jabs and Crosses can lead to stun or flash punches. Thats the gayest thing about the game by far.
FNBC : Are the impact punches easy to execute?
intoccabile :Your talking to a guy who flashes people in rnd 2 when ever he feels like it, I locked down a system that wasnt supposed to be exploited. So when you add punches that are MEANT to be learned now? Damn straight their easy to execute.. for me anyway. and I think everyone else too, because theres no real science behind them.
FNBC : Did they improve the AI from last year or do they just sit there throwing haymakers?
intoccabile :Nah, the haymaker wind up is too slow for the CPU to be that stupid this year lol. Defensively the CPu still has some things to work on, but their offense is damn nice. They jab, move around, lean on angles, and just do everythign right. and they know when they are winning or losing.. when to fall back or put some stank on it...the AI is a big step up. Every real fighter has separate AI coding this year.. to try and get the fighters to imitate their real life counterparts..
FNBC : Has the haymaker punch been toned down?
intoccabile :Nah, the haymaker hasnt been toned down. They added 2 new punches based off the haymaker for crying out loud... how could it be toned down? Lol. It's abuse may have been toned down a little bit.. you cant do the blazing fast ones like round 2.. but you wont have to.. almost everytime you land a haymaker its a impact punch.
FNBC : Is it hard to tell when your boxer is hurt since there is no HUD for your life meter?
intoccabile :You can put the hud on, but when playing with the hud off (default) its not hard to tell, nah. For me it can be, because I use the swing cam for every fight night game.. so the guys are a little further away from teh camera and i have trouble making out their expressions.. but for the must part it's pretty easy. Crank up your volume when you play this s*** though lol. You can tell they are tired by their posture, movement, the sound of their breathing, they way they sit in the corner, and the noise they make when they swing You can tell they are hurt by the look on their face, their posture, and the sound they make when they get hit.
FNBC : Are there any new additions to Create-a-boxer?
intoccabile :I think the big update is creating the styles, which is pretty hot. Theres tons of IGn articles and s*** like that if you need a real indepth feel for how that works.. but if you want a fellow league members personal opinion? Create a style is DAMN fun.. it would be perfect if the styles were balanced.
FNBC : Do the gloves still say EA Sports on them or do they now say Everlast or other real brands?
intoccabile :They have a lot of licensed gloves now, but the majority says EA sports. What EA needs is a custom-everything. I'm talking like the car games lol. I'd love to get online with my custom tattoo, custom trunks, and custom gloves.. some s*** that I made up using thousands of layers. I hate fightin people who rockin the same gear as me .
FNBC : Who are the key players in the game?
intoccabile :Ali, PBF, DLH, RJJ, JT, SRR, SRL, SSM. Lol, pretty much all the skilled technicians are damn tough this year, and when they are mastered they'll be tough to take out. My main man Ricky hatton is a tank too, and some of the other guys are damn good too if you can handle their styles.. but the guys i mentioned are the easiest to pick up and play with, and just merk cats with. Winky is nice too.. He's got the blocker style, and i'm not a southpaw.. so when I change him up and start jabbing with his power hand while using his crazy blocking technique he's damn good.
FNBC : When selecting a boxer, does it give more stats about him like how many Wins, Loss, Ko's he has?
intoccabile :No, you dont see the stats and all that.
FNBC : Will fighters have their signature punch, like Roy Jones Jr. behind the back?
intoccabile :Yeh theres the signature punchers this year, and theres the punches you can do while taunting too. I wouldnt say they are teh actual fighters signature punches.. some belong to the fighters yeh, but like rnd 2.. alot of the guys have the same signature punches. I dont use them though, so that doesnt bother me.
FNBC : What new boxers have been added to the roster? Can you give us a list please?
intoccabile scar, Hagler, and Castillo is in. THen theres the weird empty slots that i think are secret characters.
FNBC : Will there be an option to disable the "1st Person view" or KO moment" in the game?
intoccabile :Nope. and the first person view doesnt happen all the time. Sometimes its the regular ko moment.. sometimes its the first person view. The ko moment means your about to get dropped, obviously but you can fight back. the first person view is when your completely rocked and cant fight back.. and the guy just jumps on you.. you have to survive that. it only takes one parry to get out.
FNBC : How is the replay, in the demo there seems to be many problems with the reply system, is it fixed?
intoccabile :Nope. It's that retarded close up slow motion matrix bull s***.
FNBC : How many Camera Views are there in the game?
intoccabile :Ugh, I'm not sure. I think all the same views from round 2 are back. ALl i care about is swing lol
FNBC : What features are in the options menu, can we choose how long rounds are, etc.
intoccabile :Ugh.. I'd have to take another look.. but off the top the options menu has my favorite.. cutting the music off lol. Then theres the video display settings, appear on or offline, voice through headset or speakers, number of rounds, round lengths.. not sure what the lengths are. probably the same as round 3, Ko moment on or off. This just works for online though.. if you dont want to see what the other guy sees when the ref is counting him out. Ugh.. DQ on or uff, illegal hits on or off, the regular rnd 2 stuff for the most part. and I also dont think hard hits mode is there now that I think about it, I gotta check.
FNBC : Are there any changes to the decisions (scorecard) at the end of the fight?
intoccabile :Havnt had any decisions yet. But teh scorecards usually look like the rnd 2 scorecards after my fights... me winning decisively lol
FNBC : Does the ref stop the fight due to cuts or taking too many punches? Does your corner throw the towel in?
intoccabile :In career mode the matches are more dramatic.. So players may quit, or trainers may toss the towel in, and the ref stops fights from not defending yourself, which i think is the same as being cut badly. But i think doctors stop the fights due to cuts now, or atleast thats what EA is going for. I was cut real bad playing the game once and didnt bother doing the cutman, i skipped it. and the fight was stopped.. weird right? SO another time i actually did the cutman and i have my trainer telling me the round went well.. he's also telling me if i continue to get hit he's gonna stop the fight.. and i was working on a cut.. the cut was real bad. I guess i didnt do a good enough job on the cut because well.. the fight stopped. So you gotta use your cutman this time lol.
FNBC : How is the commentary?
intoccabile :RNd 2 throwback with a couple extras. They patched up some things.. like the wrong dialogue at the wrong time.. the commentary is ok for the most part.. but you hear rnd 2 s*** more than anything.
FNBC : Whats your favorite part about the ring entrances?
intoccabile :Nothing, i hate'em. I think the graphics are my favorite part lol. I dont watch entrances.. i barely play games offline.. but i have to in this case.
FNBC : Can you tell us how the new addition "rivalry mode" is?
intoccabile :Wack.. You just click on these little rivalry videos.. Jake vs Srr for example.. and they give you the run down on their fight history.. then show you a video of them fighting. Video from the ESPn library then some ingame footage of them boxing. They tell you jakes strengths and show jake winning, then tell you SRR's strengths and show SRR winning.. the end. Rivalry mode ties into career mode too, you can start rivalries but its a lot different there. it's pretty much you startin beef then making more money for your next fight with that guy..
FNBC : What new training sessions are in the game?
intoccabile :The training sessions are the same for the most part, they are just presented differently, then theres the making weight stuff.
FNBC : How does the game feel online?
intoccabile :Laggy as all hell. It's on a bunch of EA test servers and theres only about 10 - 15 guys who play (beta testers). and they dont really play most the time, their busy jotting s*** down, good n bads. I've had one cool fight online that didnt lag, but it skipped sometimes. and I had a nice time. I just wish the cat i was playing had his mic plugged in cause i was talking some wreckless s*** lol. Its annoying too right now because EA is constantly doing things to their servers, I'm always downloading patches for online.. its obvious that the online portion isnt complete yet.
FNBC : Can we trade cabs?
intoccabile :Not that i know of. If anything that would be something you do over the xboxlive dashboard, with the marketplace and stuff.. the same way you can share photos and what not.. but EA doesnt have a actual mode or anything where you can do it.
FNBC : Can you download content from XBOX LIVE like Trunks, Shoes, and Gloves. If we can, do we have to pay?
intoccabile ont know, Lol. Thats up to EA if they make you pay for your stuff over live, but I think you'll have to pay. Not money, but points. All DLC is supposed to be downloadable only when you pay the right amount of points. But yeh, there will be content online, i was informed, and was also told that characters might be downloadable as well.
FNBC : Can you give us a Full track list?
intoccabile :Not off the top, lol. But yeh I could. and for the guys wondering about custom soundtracks... i wouldnt really say teh game enables custom soundtracks.. is just a matter of going to the dashboard.. and playing your music.. then playing the game.
FNBC : How different is the final version of the game compared to the DEMO for xbox 360?
intoccabile :I'm contemplating wether this is even a final build or not, I keep downloading patches.. and these shadow characters are weird lol, i just wana know if they are secret guys or not!. But theres big difference.. the obvious one is I'm not restricted to one mode and 2 fighters to choose from haha. Besides the obvious differences, theres the speed.. which is really the only gameplay difference about
the game.

FNBC : What features are in the options menu, can we choose how long rounds are, etc.
intoccabile :Ugh.. I'd have to take another look.. but off the top the options menu has my favorite.. cutting the music off lol. Then theres the video display settings, appear on or offline, voice through headset or speakers, number of rounds, round lengths.. not sure what the lengths are. probably the same as round 3, Ko moment on or off. This just works for online though.. if you dont want to see what the other guy sees when the ref is counting him out. Ugh.. DQ on or uff, illegal hits on or off, the regular rnd 2 stuff for the most part. and I also dont think hard hits mode is there now that I think about it, I gotta check.
FNBC : Are there any changes to the decisions (scorecard) at the end of the fight?
intoccabile :Havnt had any decisions yet. But teh scorecards usually look like the rnd 2 scorecards after my fights... me winning decisively lol
FNBC : Does the ref stop the fight due to cuts or taking too many punches? Does your corner throw the towel in?
intoccabile :In career mode the matches are more dramatic.. So players may quit, or trainers may toss the towel in, and the ref stops fights from not defending yourself, which i think is the same as being cut badly. But i think doctors stop the fights due to cuts now, or atleast thats what EA is going for. I was cut real bad playing the game once and didnt bother doing the cutman, i skipped it. and the fight was stopped.. weird right? SO another time i actually did the cutman and i have my trainer telling me the round went well.. he's also telling me if i continue to get hit he's gonna stop the fight.. and i was working on a cut.. the cut was real bad. I guess i didnt do a good enough job on the cut because well.. the fight stopped. So you gotta use your cutman this time lol.
FNBC : How is the commentary?
intoccabile :RNd 2 throwback with a couple extras. They patched up some things.. like the wrong dialogue at the wrong time.. the commentary is ok for the most part.. but you hear rnd 2 s*** more than anything.
FNBC : Whats your favorite part about the ring entrances?
intoccabile :Nothing, i hate'em. I think the graphics are my favorite part lol. I dont watch entrances.. i barely play games offline.. but i have to in this case.
FNBC : Can you tell us how the new addition "rivalry mode" is?
intoccabile :Wack.. You just click on these little rivalry videos.. Jake vs Srr for example.. and they give you the run down on their fight history.. then show you a video of them fighting. Video from the ESPn library then some ingame footage of them boxing. They tell you jakes strengths and show jake winning, then tell you SRR's strengths and show SRR winning.. the end. Rivalry mode ties into career mode too, you can start rivalries but its a lot different there. it's pretty much you startin beef then making more money for your next fight with that guy..
FNBC : What new training sessions are in the game?
intoccabile :The training sessions are the same for the most part, they are just presented differently, then theres the making weight stuff.
FNBC : How does the game feel online?
intoccabile :Laggy as all hell. It's on a bunch of EA test servers and theres only about 10 - 15 guys who play (beta testers). and they dont really play most the time, their busy jotting s*** down, good n bads. I've had one cool fight online that didnt lag, but it skipped sometimes. and I had a nice time. I just wish the cat i was playing had his mic plugged in cause i was talking some wreckless s*** lol. Its annoying too right now because EA is constantly doing things to their servers, I'm always downloading patches for online.. its obvious that the online portion isnt complete yet.
FNBC : Can we trade cabs?
intoccabile :Not that i know of. If anything that would be something you do over the xboxlive dashboard, with the marketplace and stuff.. the same way you can share photos and what not.. but EA doesnt have a actual mode or anything where you can do it.
FNBC : Can you download content from XBOX LIVE like Trunks, Shoes, and Gloves. If we can, do we have to pay?
intoccabile ont know, Lol. Thats up to EA if they make you pay for your stuff over live, but I think you'll have to pay. Not money, but points. All DLC is supposed to be downloadable only when you pay the right amount of points. But yeh, there will be content online, i was informed, and was also told that characters might be downloadable as well.
FNBC : Can you give us a Full track list?
intoccabile :Not off the top, lol. But yeh I could. and for the guys wondering about custom soundtracks... i wouldnt really say teh game enables custom soundtracks.. is just a matter of going to the dashboard.. and playing your music.. then playing the game.
FNBC : How different is the final version of the game compared to the DEMO for xbox 360?
intoccabile :I'm contemplating wether this is even a final build or not, I keep downloading patches.. and these shadow characters are weird lol, i just wana know if they are secret guys or not!. But theres big difference.. the obvious one is I'm not restricted to one mode and 2 fighters to choose from haha. Besides the obvious differences, theres the speed.. which is really the only gameplay difference about
the game.
